Thanks to Chuckdawg, we have an early review of Transformers Legacy core class Bomb-Burst. A few listings of this toy in package appeared on e-bay and this is how this one was procured. If any of you find it in stores, let us know.

We already got 2 Orion Pax toys with original molds.
Not to mention the Titans Return Alpha Trion was its own mold before it was retooled into Broadside later.

Sorry. We're already getting Alpha Trion and Orion Pax as Scourge and Kup retools.

I'm aware of the thrilling 30 Orion we got which was quite small and titan master Trion as well as POP Orion which isn't that good as well as the Scourge/Trion and Kup/Orion. I would like to see a Legacy version where the characters are done right. Not retool, not a gimmick characterization like Alpha was done in POP as a lion and an ugly ship mode, but one where he's done right. The Scourge retool as Trion is good but I really wish they would've retooled the Alt mode more for him. The Kup retool as Orion is good too and I'm ok with it. Would just would've like to see him done a new original mold. Would love to see Dion made and would like to see them make figures of the primes including Nova, Sentinel, and the originals like Prima, alchemist etc

Stoked to hear about Bombshell, & I’ll probably pick-up Beachcomber as well.
These Junkions kind of depend on whether or not I end up getting Junkheap; with him, these new deluxes are more likely to be “wants” for me, unless they just look horrible.
But Hastak has done so well with G1 characters that that doesn’t seem likely.

I never liked Powerglide, but it will be interesting to see if I’m still in the game if & when Seaspray is released.

I have this weird feeling that the "Energon Monsters" we've seen listed will be recolored into Junkions.

The Energon Monsters were dropped from the line. Skullgrin and (most likely) Bomb-Burst replaced them.

This one clearly does NOT count.
It was the obvious Lio Convoy pretool and by some extent, Broadside's and Tidalwave's as well.
It was also the case with Optimus for OctOne, and Megatron for Blitzwing.

Lio Convoy was all Takara's idea made later. Hasbro were the ones who designed the figure to be Alpha Trion first and foremost.

And its robot mode was clearly designed with Vector Prime in mind, but that never happened at all. That coupled with the lion altmode made it based on the two BotCon toys of A3 (the Vector Prime retool and the lion Thundertron redeco).

.....y'know, looking back over the listings with the addition of today's news, do we have too many Voyagers?
-Tarn
-Leo Prime
-Metalhawk
-Twincast
-Bludgeon
-Ramjet PR
-Junkion
-Nemesis Leo
-Dirge PR
Either we're getting a wave with 3 Voyagers all 1 to the case, or someone here isn't gonna be retail next year....right?

So it seems Legacy year 2 will still mostly be G1 heavy, though we don't know anything about the Commander or Titan yet so perhaps they'll both be Multiverse. Armada Optimus would work as a Commander, and surely it can't just be Starscream, Megatron and Hot Shot in Armada's anniversary years, can it? (Hasbro have said they count both 2002 and 2003 as Armada's anniversry).
Either way, I'll definitely be getting Deluxe Shadowstriker, but the rest I'm not all that interested in. As for Studio Series, I'm definitely getting Core Frenzy and Voyager Ratchet, I still need to see if I can get Rumble anywhere, and I'll wait to see how Brawn looks before I commit to getting one.

This list is great news. I'm also inclined to think "Robo WLD RDR" might actually be X-Brawn, either a heavy retool or a new mold. But, most likely the next G2 Stunticon.

I'm glad people are getting another shot at the coneheads, Thrust is sure to follow. I have and love the ER versions.

For me, the definite pickups will be the deluxified minibots, Brawn and Beachcomber. That leaves only Powerglide and Seaspray left. If he wasn't the SS86 version, I thought we might have gotten Outback from Brawn.

Hopefully in further leaks/reveals we get some updates of Armada figures. So far it's only Starscream and Megatron. We need a new Demolishor and Cyclonus. And Thrust from Jhiaxus is so easy, of course Hasbro won't do it.

Personally, I think we're way overdue for Nightbeat, Siren and Hosehead. >:oP

Looking at it, the tr alpha trion mold looks like it would be better suited for Lio Convoy.

Close enough. We've had minor name adjustments before, it's not impossible. If it was G2 Wildrider, what's the "Robo" designation for? I'm inclined to think it's for "Robots in Disguise" like Scourge was. His designation, at Wal-Mart at least, was also his Japanese name, Black Convoy.

We also just got G2 Dragstrip/Shadowstrip though so I'd say it's more likely G2 Wildrider with him getting a name adjustment

Well if it was G2 Wildrider, there wouldn't be a name adjustment. I'm still curious as to what the "Robo" is for.

Also, he's been out for a while, so is there a consensus on Blitzwing yet?

The fact that G2 Dragstrip's name was adjusted to Shadowstrip is why Sentinel said that.

Let's not forget that these names are preliminary and may not be exactly what the final figure will be called. Leaving an "r" and hyphen on Wildride could just be a typo since we already have Wild Rider and whoever is inputting the names into the computer mixed things up. I agree that "Robo" is probably "Robots in Disguise 2000 Universe". And if you want my really crazy and baseless theory, I think Scraphook will be Wildride's retool since ideally one of the hands would be replaced with a 5mm peg hole perfect for sticking a hook in and the asymmetric body would work well for a Junkion.

Wildride could also be another retool of Skids. That would be very disappointing.

...upon further reflection, this is absolutely too many figures, we either have 5 waves leaked or some of these are exclusives (I just threw these in here in the order they leaked, these probably won't be the actual wave breakdowns except for probably that first one):

So hear me out.
If X-Brawn is getting made, then no matter which of his release names is used, he's a single letter off from another existing character, and both of those characters are also being updated. However, Legacy Wild Rider is coming out right now, whereas SS86 Brawn will be coming out next year possibly very close to our potential X-Brawn, so for the purposes of not confusing retailers and making sure both figures get stocked, it makes sense to use the Wildride name for at least the listing instead of trying to have "Brawn" and "X-Brawn" in store systems at the same time.
ON TOP OF THAT, our listings also include Shadow Striker and a mystery Prowl....which means they could be doing all 3 RiD Autobot car bros next year between Prowl possibly being his RiD incarnation, "ROBO WLD RDR" possibly being X-Brawn, and Shadow Striker actually being her Universe incarnation as a pretool for Side Burn. Do I actually want that? No, I would rather get Cyberverse/IDW Shadow Striker and Animated Prowl (although RiD Prowl certainly wouldn't be worst-case-scenario), but I feel like the possibility is worth mentioning.

It certainly could just be G2 Wild Rider, but if it is I question why it's possibly a retail release and why it's alternate name seems to just be "Robo Wild Rider" when his compatriots are getting names like Shadowstrip. If anything, I would think the new name for G2 Wild Rider would just be Brake-Neck, like how Diaclone Bluestreak has adopted the Silverstreak name.

Five leaked waves is plausible. Reportedly, Legacy year one was shortened to three waves, so one of these is carried over. We may just be looking at the entire year's worth of the mainline.

I mean, they're a lot less likely to screw up RiD Prowl; do you really trust them with new toys of Animated at this point?
And re-doing the Autobot Brothers - if they're going all the way with it - would be a good thing, considering they can't be reissued due to the molds being Swiss cheese. Like anything post-G1 that gets remade in CHUG they'd be something of a mixed bag, but hopefully skewing mostly towards positive.

...am I not supposed to? I mean, regardless of if I "trust" them or not, they blatantly said at SDCC that Animated stuff is in the Legacy pipeline, so it doesn't particularly matter, but also I've never put a crazy amount of stock into how screen-accurate or accurate to the original designs new figures are as long as it looks good to my tastes. I already have and enjoy Siege GUOP, Selects Hot Shot, Legacy Arcee & Bulkhead (and will be getting Knock Out as soon as he shows up here), and Velocitron Scourge, and the only reason I won't be getting Armada Screamer is because I'm waiting for Thundercracker colors (although he is probably also the most accurate of these that I've listed). It would take massive missteps for them to get me to not want an Animated Prowl, and the only time that's come close to happening recently for me with a non-G1 character is Velocitron Override, who Takara stepped in and fixed so it didn't matter.

Oh we're in agreement that updating the brothers would overall be a good thing, I would love for the ride-or-die RiD fans to get some more love (especially after Velocitron Scourge came out off deco-wise). I just personally only care about X-Brawn and to a lesser extent Prowl when it comes to that trio, and I care infinitely more about Cyberverse/IDW Shadow Striker than I ever have or will Universe Shadow Striker, so I was just stating my preferences for what the currently-vague listings could end up being.

Man, that new leak list is certainly weak. There are only 3 figures on that list that interest me.

Strongarm: Hoping it's the RiD2015 one, would be awesome to see her getting some more stuff.

Shadow Striker: please let this be the proper Cyberverse one.

Bombshell: this one interests me only because I need a deluxe of him to go with FOC Kickback.

Otherwise, I am underwhelmed. SS86 and G1 Legacy continues to be things I don't really need considering I have version of those characters I am happy with. I am not really interested in junkions. And I have the coneheads, though I am happy everyone else gets a chance at them.

As for other Legacy stuff, Jhiaxus was clearly meant for the SS86 Starscream throne.

Image

I also got Knock Out this weekend. He is OK, I am just whelmed on him. This mold was just not meant for him. He is so boring in robot mode, and the head sculpt is just not him. I really wish he was done differently. There has to be a happy medium between this and the RED figure

Most likely I'll concur. I haven't gotten many Legacy figures. I did get Jhiaxus and like him very much. We better get an Armada Thrust out of him. It's a no-brainer, Hasbro! As for the throne, it may fit Shattered Glass Optimus Prime even better. The colors would match as well.

Funnily enough, I've been wanting SS86 Screamer so I could have a Starscream that isn't a combiner torso, but none of his accessories will be kept with him  Thundercracker's gonna get most of them, with Jhiaxus getting the throne

I was able to get Coronation Starscream on sale, otherwise I'd have passed, then I sold off the cape/crown etc. and only kept Scream and the throne which ultimately only cost me the price of a DLX Bot and is cheaper than his Voyager release!

Depending on how Strongarm turned out I might buy herm generally not a fan of the new animated designs but hers wasn't all that bad.

So I finally settled on my Metroplex city mode.

20220920_111550.jpg

I also took the afternoon off and started drinking. That can only mean one thing, time for city building shenanigans, and I must say I'm proud of my efforts.

Behold, Air-Lockopolis (tm)

20220920_130301.jpg

20220920_130306.jpg

I made Mertoplex the centerpiece and have a complete Autobot loop and Decepticon/Quintesson loop. And pretty much no room left to try and cram in anything from Titans Return. That will have to be a floor project for another day.

For those curious on the load out:
1 each Titan Omega Supreme, Scorponok, Black Zarak and Metroplex
1 each Commander Sky Lynx and Rodimus (trailer)
1 each Leader Astrotrain, Doubledealer, OP(trailer) Nemesis Prime(trailer)
3x Voyager Quintesson for the Quintesson prison (one of mine is from the pit of judgement set)
1 each deluxe regular Ironworks, Airwave, Greasepit, Hot House, plus Amazon Exclusive Ironworks/Overair
3x Battlemaster Soundbarrier
3x Battlemaster Slitherfang
4x Battlemaster Doublecross
1x Fangtron (red Slitherfang from Netflix Nemesis Prime set)

"Capsule" is the term Hasbro uses to refer to exclusive sublines like the Walmart-exclusive Velocitron subline, the Amazon-exclusive Wreckers subline, the Amazon-exclusive Golden Disk Collection, the Amazon-exclusive Galactic Odyssey Collection (Amazon gets a lot of these), etc.

Found a Wildrider today. Gotta say, I think he's pretty neat, but has anyone else gotten stress marks on the ports that connect him to Menasor? Honestly not a massive issue for me, but it's still a bit concerning

Even though Amazon had just updated the shipping/delivery for my 2 Wild Riders, my Target has come through big time… My wife snagged one for me on Monday, then this evening they had 4 more!
And multiples of everyone in the wave, except 1 Knock-out.
They even had 1 Jhiaxus. Still haven’t seen Motormaster in shelves, but it was nice to see so much stocked.
I also saw Legacy Core Shockwave… As much as I want to like that figure, he’s a miss and a pass for me.
I’m not even sure I’d bite if he were clearanced.
If my Core line-up ends up being Megs, Soundwave, & the 3 main seekers, I’ll be good with that.
Of course we’ll see how the Dinobots look.
But I’m predicting some major sacrifices for both modes due to limited size and engineering.

Now, fingers crossed Dead End gets released in October, and Breakdown around Thanksgiving!!

I chose to post this here considering there were more Legacy figures than other lame ones....I remembered that Macy's stores have TRU sections and at the 2 I went to I found Blaster for anyone looking for him.

So after you hit Target and Walmart try your local Macy's....'nuff said! :VEHI:

Even if this was somehow possible despite the fact that Breakdown hasn't even been shown yet, this request sounds like an easy way for Wave 3 to become artificially & needlessly rare and get straight-up skipped by some stores.

Obviously they're not the same size but here's a cheeky little comparison.

Yeah, that schedule is a bit optimistic. I would think that Breakdown won't show up until 2023. Early, like January/February, but I think hoping he'll be on shelves in 2 months is a bit of a stretch.

TF-fan kev777 wrote:For Target specifically, the store may or may not get a full case, and they may not actually get it within a Hasbro case box itself. I've seen employees stock some of the deluxe pegs and voyager slots with figures from plain brown internal target shipping boxes.

So in your example, it could very well be the employee just didn't want to go back and look, or it could be that they might have just stocked them from an internal shipment and put out the only figures they received.

Just a follow up to my Wildrider hunt from last week. Well finally got him last night. I do believe Tf-fan that it may be the case that Target may not always get full case packs, btu I now know, this one did, and I was simply lied to by multiple lazy employees, and just had to fins an honest one to do the right thing.

AS mentioned previously, they got the whole case last Thursday 9/15. Unfortunately this particular store only has 1 peg at the moment for Legacy Deluxe (because they got an influx of S7 taking up 3 or 4 pegs)... Anyway, we all know a deluxe case has 8 (in this case 2 of each for wave 2). When I went on Thursday mornign they had an old W1 Primce Arcee, 2 Tarantulas, and 1 Elita from the new case (leaving 2 WR, 2 Knocktout, and 1 Elita n the case in the back).

When doores opened, the lady said "I dont backstock toys" which was a clear lie. Later in the day both my son and daughter asked different employees who told them simply there were none on the back.

Fast forward 6 days to last night (09/20). I went in shortly before closing. ON the one peg was a Knockout, Elita, Tarantuals, and the old Prime Arcee (meaning in 6 days only 1 Tarantulas had moved) There were no employees around, so I asked an employee in electronics to page Simeone to toys. Instead she volunteered to assist me herself. She scanned the tag, and asked specifically for which one I wanted (meaning there were obviously more in the back). She came out with the WR case fresh, no issues.

I'm glad I got it, but its mind blowing the games you have to play. I know the employees dont care, and its not their job to know what sells and what doesn't, and obviously there is some room for variance in the plan-o-gram since every Target and Walmart are different. Every store should have at least 2 pegs (which fits a whole case of 8) for Generations Deluxe mainline, but I guess that's just me.

Someone here asked a while ago about anti-theft devices. With respect to Transformers, I had only seen them recently on MPM Blackout. There had been multiple Legacy Metroplex' at my closest Target that seemingly sold well. But just last night I saw they now have the anti-theft devices as well (I hope those Legacy Plex's didn't walk out unpaid for ) , and curiously MPM Blackout didn't Seems random. :???:

I'll never forget a trip to Target last year when they had Classified Alley Vipers in stock, with each $20 figure sporting security tags.

However, there's always those that just pull the ol' switcheroo, such as this rather artistic effort from some cheeky little tealeaf...

Did they not only swap the figure but also go to the trouble of changing the name and artwork for the box?

There is no Deluxe Starscream in this line.

That is real dedication to the art of switching figures.
