www.Post-Gazzette.com reports that
Yahoo! is planning to give several brandnames, including Transformers, the star-treatment by creating "Brand Universe" sites. The multi media website will showcase a pop-culture potpourri of TV shows, movies, video games and celebrities on 100 different Web sites that Yahoo plans to create later this year.
"We are totally open to driving a result that makes a partner want to work with us,", said Vince Broady, the Yahoo executive overseeing Brand Universe. According to the
article, this will be done in an effort to bolster their own brand. Although the article doesn't say, it will be likely that the site will follow with the release of the Michael Bay
Transformers Movie also later this year.

We received the following message from Alan Scott this morning: "There is a ton of new material on
sectorseven.org. Instead of the old login
takara83, use
thefirst7 instead. Two new buttons opened up and new videos, along with a sectorseven building interactive walkthough." It looks like this new password came from the new advertisement on
ESPN.com which
kevinus prime notified us about earlier today.
SectorSeven.org is a movie tie-in website. It is not known yet if this just simply ties in with the movie or if it will become a video game tie-in for the movie. In the meantime, it's a fun little website to check out if you haven't already.
Here are some screen shots of the Transformers movie advertisement on
ESPN.com ...

Ever since fans learned that the upcoming
Transformers Movie would be a reality, they agreed on two things. They wanted Peter Cullen back as Optimus Prime and Frank Welker back as Megatron. Well it looks like fans will only get part of their wish. It looks like Welker will not be backj as Megatron. Welker posted the following on his own
website back on December 12, 2006:
"I am not really sure what's happening with the "Transformer" movie other than my talented friend Peter Cullen has been cast. Presently, I have not been offered any roles. They are doing a new series based on our old shows which neither Peter nor I were cast. I think Corey Burton is playing the new Megatron. He is a wonderful voice talent and a great guy, so it's nice to be replaced by folks you like at any rate."
Also notice that Welker mentions that Corey Burton will be playing the part of Megatron in a new Transformers series.
Keep in mind none of this has yet to be confirmed and it is only rumor at this time. The main reason being that Welker made these comments back on December 12, 2007 and on January 8, 2007 IESB reported that Welker was days away from signing on as Megatron.
