SDCC may have wrapped up but it looks like there's still a lot left to talk about when it comes to the future of Legacy! HUGE thanks to our own Seibertronian Nemesis Primal for combing through Q&As and interviews to find many key bits of information about the future of Legacy. His post to our Energon Pub Forums is as follows:
Nemesis Primal wrote:So I've been doing a bit of reading, and between what little Q & A escaped the panel, a video interview done by Shartimus Prime, and the big interview TFW just posted, I have compiled the following list of Legacy-relevant confirmations/hints given at SDCC outside of just the figures we actually saw. Notes so far (*inhales*):
-Legacy Wave 4/Breakdown will be shown at Pulsecon
-Legacy Wave 4/Breakdown are scheduled to come out next year
-Evan mentioned that Menasor's lack of Scramble City compatibility/limbs being dedicated to just Menasor has been well-received and they are keeping that in mind for future potential combiners
-No continuity is off the table for Legacy, Cyberverse is an option
-Animated was given a flat-out confirmation by Evan, Animated characters/designs WILL be in Legacy, the theory of those characters/designs being held up by Cartoon Network rights is incorrect
-Evan cited Animated Lockdown, Ratchet, and Prime as characters/designs he specifically would like to work on
-Legacy Animated figures WILL be G1-ified, HOWEVER the team has also heard the feedback on Arcee/Bulkhead/Knock Out and are working to find a better G1-ification balance
-Titans and Selects are both still planned to continue release, called out the theory of Selects ending specifically as incorrect
-Hasbro is considering 2022 and 2023 both to be the Armada anniversary due to the show's release date in Japan (which probably also explains "RiD 2000 Universe")
-Armada Prime "may happen" for the anniversary, unlikely to be the unreleased Takara-initiated one shown years back but may borrow from it if happening
-Cyber Planet Keys and Cheetor's gut gun both being thought about in terms of potential weapon/accessory packs
-They KNOW people want Tidal Wave
-Minicons are something they're intending to figure out "once they move more fully into Armada"
-Wider release/more allotments of Velocitron Cosmos and his in-store availability are up to Walmart, Pulse cannot restock (sounds familiar)
-Next Haslab is being worked on but has no associated dates yet
-No version of Optimus Prime will EVER be a Haslab (when asked about Armada Prime)
-When asked about a new Cybertron OP & Wing Saber: "it would be totally doable to make a new Wing Saber connect to Siege GUOP" (implying Wing Saber is on the table but Optimus is considered done)
-More Titans from Cybertron are possible albeit daunting due to number (Starscream, Primus, Quickmix, & Menasor all mentioned)
-Evan wants to incorporate Powerlinx into Armada/Energon updates
-Mark and Evan talk about making figures of the 13 Primes "all the time", mentioned The Fallen's tank mode
-As far as Evan knows, Legacy is planned to go for 3 years and is a trilogy (?)
-More non-G1 updates can be expected even if/when Legacy ends
-Evan wants to make Beast Machines Vehicons
-Most obscure characters Evan wants to do in Legacy: Velocity, Javelin, Mistress of Flame, Camiens
-Interest in bringing Fan Votes back
-Expansion into non-G1 was due to designer interest, characters needing updates, and people being sick of the same characters
-Positive reaction to being asked about Omnibots, vague "anything is possible" response given
-More Minibots "will make it in eventually"
-Mention of potential Coneheads rerelease in Legacy
-Evan mentioned "having a few more beasts to get through"
...and on top of all that semi-official stuff, JTPrime has said as of yesterday that Breakdown and Twincast's EAN numbers have been replaced with new ones that change what we thought the next few waves would be, indicating that Wave 4 will now include Needlenose, "Junkion 1", Hot Shot, Tarn, & Leo Prime (at least, don't think we know Leaders-per-specific-wave yet for 2023) in addition to Breakdown, while Twincast has been pushed back to the wave containing Metalhawk and the Wheeljack & Cheetor repacks have been possibly scrapped.
If you actually read to the end, I appreciate you
And there you have it. It looks like the design team isn't leaving much off the table which may well make this the most exciting era of the Transformers franchise. It's a lot to unload but feel free to leave your thoughts in the Energon Pub Forums!
It has been a long time since Hasbro has shown this much confidence in a new show's toyline. They are giving it a marketing push unlike anything we have seen in a decade (neither 2015 RID nor Cyberverse ever got this much attention) with a big presentation at SDCC and a reveal of a new toyline. They have a full breakdown of the toyline, showing the various classes and revealing the gimmicks behind them. It is very varied with a return to form for traditional type toys in some classes and completely new gimmicks in others. Also is it just me or is that shot of Megatron giving some IDW Lost Light vibes?
Check out the info below on the various classes followed by the images:

Ready your team for the two newest recruits to join the Earth Wars - Rook & Blot!
There will be a challenge battle available later this week for you to take our newest Protectobot and Terrorcon for a test ride!
One of the most instinctive strategists in the Autobot Earth forces, Rook's analytical/tactical mind belies his tendency to sometimes break ranks and charge headlong into the oncoming enemy forces.
Not that Rook has much to fear from incoming fire. His durabyllium armor plating can withstand punishing blasts and hold up under crushing weight, and normally at the forefront of his mind is pulling some injured party from harm's way, a feat he accomplishes by switching to his equally armored vehicle mode and utilizing his powerful hydraulic claw. It's all in a day's work for this fearless and selfless Protectobot.
Blot is a mess. No two ways about it. Emotionally and physically.
His unfortunate habit of leaking bodily fluids (oil, hydraulic and Primus knows what else) exacerbates his already low self-esteem, and so he presents a generally apathetic instinct to hygiene generally.
It doesn't help that Blot is unintelligent and slovenly, and prone to suffer breakdowns from lack of fluid. But he is very strong, loyal and agile, his piercing claws enabling Blot to climb virtually any vertical structure, making him overall useful for the Terrorcons to have around. In robot mode he's armed with a slime gun that fires a stream of odious corrosive liquid. Explosive Decoy
Place a decoy that has 65% of your Health and attracts defences. When destroyed, it explodes dealing damage in a large area. Only one decoy can be active at a time. Bug Fixes / Updates
The following bug fixes/updates are coming to the game soon.
Raid Beam Laser may now retarget between each attack, making abilities such as Pipes’ Defensive Rush work on them.
The HQ equipped with the Point Defense Beam or the Omni-Flamer core could target Slash/Rippersnapper even in their stealth mode. Slash and Rippersnapper critical hit in their ability mode was dealing less damage than announced in the ability description. We have increased the damage dealt in order to match the ability description.
We have fixed an issue where Huffer/Lockdown dying was killing Blaster/Soundwave's minions.
Find out which bots are joining the Earth Wars at the end of the current saga!

The following bug fixes/updates are coming to the game soon.
Slash & Rippersnapper could be targeted by Raid buildings during their abilities.
The Slowdown Photon Silver Core now changes the beam laser colour from orange to blue (now similar to the Bronze and Gold Core).
Previously, Lugnut received the squad effect of the Warrior cores. Since he is of the Special Class, he is now solely affected by the effect of the Special Class Squad Core.

5* Perceptor and Bombshell’s ability cost increase is now 2 instead of 3, in line with the other star level.
Toy Fair is taking place right now. Directly from the floor at New York Toy Fair 2019, site owner Seibertron is sending us images of the Hasbro display showroom as we prepare the galleries for the site. The Transformers Trading Card Game is there and we can see the pack for Devastator and the packs for Predaking. Devastator's pack features the combiner cards making up the combiner. You can see them below and keep an eye out on this site for more Toy Fair news, galleries and videos.
If you want to know more about these cards and strategies, we have breakdowns here.

For those who want to see more of the Bumblebee movie toys shown during the SDCC breakfast event, we now have a whole gallery for you. The idea behind this movie line, this time, is that it is 100% targetted towards kids. Most center around the igniter gimick where you can plug in an allspark like device. Any traditional transformer toy aimed at collectors will be relegated to the Studio Series line. Since there are only a few robots in the movie, the Bumblebee toy line will be filled with characters who may not appear in the film, like Megatron in his ROTF body. You can click here for a breakdown of the entire line.
You can click on any of the images below to see more of the Energon Igniters, DJ Bumblebee, Power Charge Bumblebee as well as a mask and other role playing items.
We also have two videos of the show floor, one for the Bumblebee movie products and one for the Target exclusives for the Bumblebee movie.
From the Hasbro breakfast event at SDCC, we have the Target exclusives for the Bumblebee film. The idea with this film is the retro look and to go with that theme, Hasbro is releasng Titans Return Soundwave again with the boom box resembling Kanye's glasses. The big news though for fans is that this is the way Hasbro is releasing Titans Return Frenzy (aka the blue casette). These are two sets of exclusives. One will be simply Soundwave while the other will be three casettes and a one step Bumblebee.
Also on the show floor were all the Bumblebee move toys we had previously seen in the review earlier this week. We get a better idea of their size here. The idea behind this movie line, this time, is that it is 100% targetted towards kids. Most center around the igniter gimick where you can plug in an allspark like device. There are other products as well such as a mask and other role playing items.
We were all wondering how we would get the three remaining Prime Masters and that question has finally been answered. They will be included in the SDCC 2018 Exclusive Transformers Power of the Primes Throne of the Primes set. Not only does this set include a black redeco of Optimal Optimus, but it will have Primes Masters for Amalgamous Prime, Nexus Prime, Prima Prime and a thirteenth Prime Master which sports the same Matrix symbol seen in promotional art. What is odd is that this thirteenth Prime Master has the deco and sculpting based on Prima Prime from the comics (as can be seen below).
The throne we previously saw is cardboard and the plastic packaging disc behind it can store all the Prime Masters. Four Prime Masters can be connected to the Scepter of Sparks accessory as you can see in the photos below. It is still unclear if the crown can come off or not. We do see the smaller Optimus Primal figure which is mostly unchanged from the mass release version aside from a painted crotch.
Here is a breakdown of the Prime Masters included in this set, courtesy of fellow Seibertronian JelZe GoldRabbit.
Amalgamous: retool of Cloudburst/Micronus Prime (so he gets the Waverider shell...)
Nexus: retool of Submarauder/Alchemist Prime
"Matrix": retool of Metalhawk/Vector Prime, as extensive as Bludgeon
Prima: retool of Octopunch/Solus Prime
Hidden Remote has Hasbro’s latest San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, the Transformers: Generations Power of the Primes Throne of the Primes. The SDCC exclusive set features Nexus Prime, Amalgamous Prime, Prima Prime and the Legendary 13th Prime Comic-Con exclusive Prime Master figures. There’s also a Scepter of Sparks accessory, designed to hold four Prime Master figures. The Halo of Primus display can be used to create a display of Prime Master power, with the ability to hold 12 Prime Master figures. No word yet on pricing, but we’ll update when we know more.
