A line that makes Blaster a leader class base? No thank you sir.

Well there is a difference in liking the line and disliking a figure, but, I agree. Beyond the design lending itself to becoming a base rather easily - I think there are/were more worthy candidates for the leader class figures, but I admit that - outside of disliking the characters - I am intrigued by the base combining gimmick. I am very eager to see what Ryan does with them for his galleries, once he has a bunch of them.
Plus, there is the caveat that these aren't technically headmasters, they're the character themself becoming the head/piloting a conveniently designed mech based on them (i.e. megatron pilots the galvatron mech - it's splitting hairs, but it is an important distinction to make)

You know what though, there might be a subscale going on in the generations figures. We all can attest that Leader Megatron is out of scale. Some like that he is this big and that is perfectly fine, but he is out of scale none the less when compared to Leader Ultra Magnus or Jetfire or Classics prime ect. So for all intents and purposes, he was a stand alone out of scale figure which could be put wherever people found it to their liking. However, we then got the leader seekers (obviously also out of scale, since they are made from a mold of a character that was always bigger than them). And they fit together nicely. The leaders scale with oneanother. Now we have Blaster who is also leader class. With Buzzsaw around being a decepticon media player, it goes without saying that we will eventually see a leader decepticon media player for him to interact with: Soundwave. So, you would end up with a new of generations figures, in parallel release with the other classes. You would get Megatron, all three seekers, the tapes and Soundwave (so most of the initial Decepticons) all scaling with eachother in this new leader scale.

They have a set of two each, one each and individual bots up. Better grab em while they last.
No Skylynx spotted at this time.

Even if they didn't have some flying characters to go with, maybe some guys that actually were in the same wave as Sky Lynx might have seemed appropriate.
Kup - Offroad mold
Springer - Rook mold
Blurr - Dead End mold
Hot Rod - Breakdown mold

Yeah, I also find that weird since Skylynx is the only bot in all these G1 characters being made as toys in the CW line to be from the post movie era while it seems the main idea Hasbro is going for (from what I can tell) is pre movie era.
EDIT: Yeah, there is rodimus, but I was looking more at limbs and torsos.

Well, in the Marvel Comics version, Sky Lynx existed in the present day (the 1980s) rather than the future (the 2000s), and was an old friend of Wheeljack's. So there is at least that connection between those two.william-james88 wrote:RiddlerJ wrote:As far as repaints go, they look alright (except for Smokescreen who just looks too lazy), but the choice of characters going with Sky Lynx seems a little strange. The guys at botcon alluded to his being a favorite of the design team, as well as being popular with fans in general. I kinda agree that the team doesn't really fit with a flier, but what other fliers were there? alpha bravo as Springer... pass...

We know that's why they made Sky Lynx, but it isn't fiction justification for why he's paired with four guys he's rarely ever been associated with. I was talking about this when I mentioned Wheeljack and Sky Lynx having been old friends in Marvel G1.Hellscream9999 wrote:The guys at botcon alluded to his being a favorite of the design team, as well as being popular with fans in general.

Fiction justification, please, they just have to have it happen in the comics, and there. Honestly, the reasons for this mash-up are probably more worldy than fictitious - like trademark, or that kids like good guys, or something else. They could have given us jetfire out of airraid, they both have moving wings...
Posted by Sabrblade on December 13th, 2015 @ 9:54pm CST
Or that the choices for the four limb characters were simply that they're ones that could be easily made from the preexisting Prowl, Swindle, Offroad, and Breakdown molds.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:We know that's why they made Sky Lynx, but it isn't fiction justification for why he's paired with four guys he's rarely ever been associated with. The point is, though, that most people would expect a Sky Lynx combiner to have the guy teamed up with 1986/"Season 3" Autobots rather than 1984-1985/"Seasons 1-2" Autobots. My Wheeljack/Sky Lynx justification was in response to that.
And it was Rook, not AB, whom was suggested for Springer.

I was going off of someone else's comment that he has all land based limbs when his name is Sky Reign; I was wondering what other fliers could've been added to sky reign.

The other concept they seem to be going for is getting the whole first line of cars out there as limbs. Again, there's probably a better choice than Smokescreen. Ratchet from First Aid may have seemed better since it would only be the second use of that mold (re-mold).

I think this is correct, but also a huge mistake*. Even a small brick and mortar run would probably clear out during the holidays. Cool gift for collectors, except no one buys these types of gifts for upcoming holidays like New Year's/MLK Day/President's Day.william-james88 wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:HA! Hell just the timing of these is clearly a supply chain screwup. When did we see the boxed Superion images, months ago? Where have they been sitting around? Somebody messed up somewhere, at least that's my theory.
All that aside I look forward to these sets immensely. Bring on G2 Defensor!
*Edit for clarity: mistake on the collective retailers' part for not ordering them into physical stores at all in time for the holidays, were it an option. Mistake on Hasbro's part if they didn't make that an option for even a small (<10,000 pieces) quantity.

If you crunch the numbers they are pretty much $50.00 over priced - even if you are generous and class the Deluxe price point as $20.00 & Voyager as $35.00 & Legends/Basic as £15.00 they are still over priced.
$20.00+$20.00+$20.00+$20.00
+$35.00
+$15.00
= $140.00 ($10.00 overpriced)
So even inflating the prices to the most insane price a store could conceivable try to charge for the individual items they are still to much - if they try to further inflate the Price for Victorion - I will laugh in their face.
Why would I pay as much for a Hasbro toy that I could buy a Unite Warriors Gift set for - "with shipping" and then I'd have to pay international postage on the gift sets as well making them way more expensive than any AOE set except the SDCC one.
And if you class them by a more sensible price... They'd be more like $15.00X4
$25.00
& $10.00
Though some of my contacts tell me their local American retailers have taken to charging $15.00 for Legends class now.
But lets be honest paying a premium for Silverbolt in any colour would leave a bad taste in my mouth - especially as he has a tendency to break.

You realise that these are the Canadian prices right? They're always higher than the American prices which have already been semi revealed to be around the $100 mark.

$150 Canadian is about $108 USD, much more in line with their MSRP of $100USD.

$100.00 each means the 4 we know about would cost $400.00 if they did come out at a higher price though they that makes your spend $600.00 for the 4 sets instead - a big jump in price.
I do wonder if G2 Defensor may show up as a comic convention toy exclusive though.
I'm still left hoping that there may be a G2 Rook, Off Road & Alpha Bravo though sometime - but also left wondering if they should be a unique coloring or the same as the character they used to stand it for.
As I have said before I do really like the idea of a spare team member.
I have also mentioned before that I suspect the Transformation that many of these Limb-bots have makes a potential Seacon Rifle mode possible too using the extra team member. Heck you can do that already with Rook.

Onslaught was reported to a 'running change' that included a more show accurate olive green chest plate for Bruticus - as seen in our galleries from Botcon '15 - instead of the wave 1 toy accurate grey colored chest plate. However, the images for the wave seem to contradict this;
