Transformers: Fall of Cybertron hits shelves on August 28th.
[a]list: How did you get a chance to do a game based on an original take on Transformers in the first place?
Peter Della Penna: It was pretty obvious to us and Activision, that our studio capabilities and sensibilities were a great fit for the Transformers license. Also, it was perfect timing for us to develop a Transformers game that was not based on the film property and did not interfere with the movie franchise release schedule. The natural place for us to go was back to our childhood roots in G1 and start telling the story of Transformers before they came to earth.
[a]list: What are ways that you look to bring in fans of the classic cartoon series? Do you try and tap veteran voice actors?
Greg Agius: Authenticity is our biggest strength at High Moon Studios. You walk around the studio and you see G1 fans everywhere. I'd say that bleeds through to the game in every way. The look and the feel all are heavily inspired by G1. But everything is updated so that it feels right and up to date with the look of a modern game. Landing original G1 voices like Peter Cullen to voice Optimus Prime and Gregg Berger to do Grimlock is another key. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron reboots your childhood and makes it cool again!
[a]list: What games do you try to emulate as far as being successful with a classic brand? Do you try and learn something from the recent Batman and Spider-Man games?
Peter Della Penna: Game wise I would say both Batman and Spider-Man are great references. Especially the Batman Arkham series where everything you do in those games drives the player back to the core of what makes Batman so cool. For us, it's about transformation and the variety of awesome characters in the Transformers lore.

Where do people keep getting this misinformation? http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/645835-transformers-fall-of-cybertron/datacrazyjeffy wrote:As great as it looks, I'd love to stop seeing stuff about it. Every time I do I just get depressed at the fact it won't be on PC.
Edit: I looked it up and found a few articles on this. It all equates to Activision and Highmoon being some of the more lazy and useless developers out there. Considering the last game had so many issues just loading friggin textures on the PS3 it's no surprise they can't be bothered to put another drop of effort forward. In which case I have no idea why it's still listed for PC on multiple gaming websites.

It played great on my 360 not one problem it just could be the ps3 sucks oh wait it does that's why mine collects dust

Here we go. Look, the PS3 doesn't have lower power than the 360. Gabe Newell once explained that it is simply difficult to develop on the PS3 due to it's complexity. Thus any games developed primarily for the Xbox (most developers do this), end up not being good ports. Frankly I think it would be easier for them if they actually developed for the 360 and PC, since I can only assume they have stronger similarities programing-wise than the 360 has with the PS3. However PC is just not as popular as console gaming, so they instead force their developers to push for a PS3 release.Hotrodimust wrote:It played great on my 360 not one problem it just could be the ps3 sucks oh wait it does that's why mine collects dust
Now keep your trolling XBOT opinions to yourself please.

Hahaha I know it doesn't have less power and it's more difficult to develope games for the ps3 because of the way Sony made the processors. While Xbox only has 3 prossesors they are able to help each other and the ps3 has 7 or 8 I forget but they can't help each other if one prossesors is doing a job and is maxed out another prossesors can't take some of the load that's why some games run like shit like bayonetta and I'm not trolling it's called breaking balls but a lot of men these days have emotions like women and can't handle it. I like my ps3 but IMO the Xbox has a better online community and I like talking to my friends no matter what I'm doing. But please don't get your panties in a bunch because when it comes down to it the wii out performs both Xbox and ps3

I'm sorry but-

It all comes down to what games you want to play (and what games it had on previous gen if you got a backwards compatible PS3) in my case the PS3 wins. The same goes with the community. I frankly don't enjoy online gaming, and a-typical Xbox owners are usually the type of people I'm not interested in "hanging out with" anyway.

Lol I'm speachless it's just so funny

What? Is it my reasoning for calling you a troll (your clearly trying to piss people off), or my reasoning for preferring the PS3? So what if I don't give a shit about Halo, Gears of War or any of the other exclusives for the Xbox. I'm just saying that neither console is better. It's all about personal preference. But hey I'm just trying to be civil and not slam the Xbox for any of the numerous reasons I dislike the console.Hotrodimust wrote:Lol I'm speachless it's just so funny
Trolling is where you're purposely trying to get a rise out of people. Saying a console "sucks" without given reason and not stating it clearly as an opinion, is a typical action of trolling; you then proceed to insult my manhood simply for you calling out as a troll. Whether or not your actions are intentionally trolling or not is a different matter.
Of course at this point, no doubt a moderator is going to be ticked off at me for responding to you in the first place.

When I said it sucked I also mentioned I had one but sorry you got so offended by it and I also said that I know the Xbox dosnt have more power actually the ps3 does but Sony messed up by how they let their possessors function but I also tried to make a joke saying the wii has more power than both to try and maybe lighting the subject up and drop it but I guess you take your gaming seriously so I will say I'm sorry your right and have a nice day I will now go back under my bridge

Yes you did mention that you had one, but again you said that it flat out "sucked". Keep in mind that sarcasm and rhetoric don't translate well through text. I'm not angry at you now, I'm just telling you it was a poor choice of words, the "emotions like women" statement certainly didn't help either. On a lighter note, I own a Wii and I regret to say I only have two games for it.Hotrodimust wrote:When I said it sucked I also mentioned I had one but sorry you got so offended by it and I also said that I know the Xbox dosnt have more power actually the ps3 does but Sony messed up by how they let their possessors function but I also tried to make a joke saying the wii has more power than both to try and maybe lighting the subject up and drop it
Back on subject: Peter and Greg seemed to be spouting nothing but a bunch of complete derp.
That's boastful. It also didn't answer the question really. But then, the real answer is simply that they are affordable.Peter Della Penna: It was pretty obvious to us and Activision, that our studio capabilities and sensibilities were a great fit for the Transformers license.
Kind of a given, considering it has all the same characters, and the exact same premise.Greg Agius: The look and the feel all are heavily inspired by G1.
This question doesn't really make that much sense, neither does the answer.[a]list: What games do you try to emulate as far as being successful with a classic brand? Do you try and learn something from the recent Batman and Spider-Man games?

Don't regret owning only 2 wii games your not missing much lol the only reason I even got one is because of the Zelda games and metriod. The new super Mario bros game was fun to but other than that it's all little kid games and highly repetitive. But the funniest thing about this whole conversation is I barely even play video games anymore lol I thought it would never happen but ever since I had a daughter I just don't play it's not that I don't have time to I'd just rather watch cartoons with her. I still have to beat uncharted 3 and dc universe online for my ps3 and for my Xbox I have like 6 blockbuster titles I haven't touched. Also I have skyward sword for my wii I played it a little and it's great but as soon as fall of cybertron comes out my Xbox is getting a major workout lol
