Seems to me to just be a good re-paint job.

Would like to see Evac done in Springer style greens though.

Actualy I was talking about the rudders, I had no idea they moved.
Well, now that regular Evac can do that too, I don't even feel slightly compelled to by him again.

Well if thats the case...
I'd like to see Reissue Turbomasters and Predator Jets.
Can't believe I forgot about that figure coming with Ratbat!

Agreed...
I think I could definitely pass on this.

In a slightly related topic, I ust saw this knockoff on ebay, looking closer, I realized it's a Predator Jet.

Weird, I'm thinking the opposite. I think it's because grey plastic always looks a bit naff recently.Sowndwave76 wrote:Nekoman wrote:I prefer Springer, but this one is also very nice.

One question though - is this figure closer in scale to Classics/Universe Prowl or G1/reissue Prowl? Not really sure how large one of those helicopters is supposed to be and personally would love him in scale with G1 Prowl.

Ehh, on Jetstorm and Wingblade I agree, but imo there's a really nice ratio of gray and green (and not too much yellow) on that Springer.
The more I looked at the face on Blades, the more I dislike all the white.

Actually, since it is a $20 Voyager, I'm definitely passing on this...
Man, Blaster, Dump Load, Powerglide, and now Blades...
Passing on all of these makes buying 2 of the figs. I want more and more realistic!!

More realistic? The Live Convoy / Evac mold is the best combo of realistic alt mode and awesome robot mode I have seen to date.
That said, I love the mold, and will probably be getting both repaints.

Well, I think repaints are more likely to be rejected anyway...
While I know there are people who are just naturally negative,
with repaints, I think most are just voicing true unhappiness/disappointment.

Or just call it Airwolf. That show rocked. They had to increase the propeller load just for Ernest Borgnine's eyebrows.

Sledge wrote:How can people be disappointed with this? It's a natural mold for the character, with a better colour scheme than the original.
If this is in response to my post, I don't think that many people are disappointed with this.
Sounds like most really like it.
I was saying that a lot of times, people are truly disappointed with repaints. It may come across like bitching, but it would kinda suck if repaints were always better than new molds, wouldn't it??

Hasbro really shouldn't release Blades and Springer so close together. I think they will steal sales from each other.

Yeah, that and his colossal drinking problem... argh, good times
Regarding Blades, I want the mold but don't like all the red - it's too much, isn't Blades White with Red highlights not the other way around?
Do like the Autobot coast guade symbol though, rather spiffy.
Well, whatever - this just makes me want that God damn Springer repaint even more, the combo of Pea Green and Custard yellow is so delicious.
Deffinantly craving those Comic 2-pack repaints, Springer, Ratbat, Dirge and Roadbuster all look brilliant, as in best use of the mold yet brilliant

Windsweeper wrote:Nice to see Blades get a decent toy, though I would have preferred his original colour scheme. Maybe the Henkei version, eh?
One question though - is this figure closer in scale to Classics/Universe Prowl or G1/reissue Prowl? Not really sure how large one of those helicopters is supposed to be and personally would love him in scale with G1 Prowl.
The scale of the Cybertron Evac mold can by calculated:
The fuselage length of the actual helicopter Evac is based on
(Aerospatiale SA 365 ) is 11.64 meters long, where the Voyager Evac toy has a fuselage 26 centimeters long, giving it a scale of about 1:44. Using this information would indicate Evac would stand about 23 feet tall in robot mode.
As for G1 Prowl:
Prowl's toy is 11 cm in vehicle mode. A real Datsun Fairlady is 413 cm long. That's also a scale of 1:37. With an 11 cm robot mode Prowl would stand about 13'4''.
I don't know the scale of Classic Prowl, but since he's bigger, I'm guessing a lower scale, so the Blades toy is closer in scale to G1 Prowl.

Blades is red from getting covered in BLOOD. Or some sort of red Cybertronian bodily fluid, anyway.Craven Knight wrote:Regarding Blades, I want the mold but don't like all the red - it's too much, isn't Blades White with Red highlights not the other way around?
Oh, and I don't recall Borgnine having a drink problem. Jan-Michael Vincent on the other hand...

Just had to 'l' to the l.o.l. here.

You'll do it, to the Living Ends (starring James Bond...) Seriously though, you're a StarWars fan and collector. How on Earth are you so offended by repaints?
Sledge wrote:I think some people just like bitching about repaints. I don't see a problem with them, especially when they're so appropriate to the character. Like Blades.
Everything about this toy is strikingly nice. If he had been released with no prior version of this toy, people would be pissing themselves in anticipation. Because it's a repaint somehow it's less deserving...?
