Auction for Voyagers First-Strike Optimus Prime and Offroad Ironhide

I'm really digging that Prime, or at least the big rig mode. That there's a Bad Mother Trucker. Maybe I can have Peter Built get reformatted in Bad Mother Truckers 2...?

That neon (energon) blue color is just too bright for me. It makes Ironhide's eyes look strange.

Ironhide went to Vegas and went totally neon ^^ (maybe why his eyes are... spooky-blue ;P)

The First Strike OP doesn't really appeal to me. I like the original paint scheme in fact. The flames rock, it just says: "I'm not just any big rig"
the blue on the top of the rig is alright, but still.. the robot mode doesnt appeal, seeing it from the color perspective of the toy itself.

IH looks like he OD'd on neon colors, and got fancy neon missiles. (but that's me, I like the black version of IH, and the original OP with the flames)

First Strike OP truck mode is extremely G1 accurate. Robot mode suffers from too much red on the legs.

It makes sense, really. According to Bay, one of the main reasons for the flames (other than "I like them, and I'm the director,") was that the flames were needed to get Prime's colors in the right places in bot mode.

I like the Prime more without the flames. Love Ironhide sans neon.

So... G1 Prime and Soundwave, anyone?

Ironhide is so so, it's very different to say the least. But the Prime is awesome! I love the voyager class prime, Hasbro totally has me by the you know what for this figure when it comes to repaints. Can't wait to get the G1 deco.

The blue Ironhide is soooooo lame and pointless, but i am liking the prime repaint.

There are too many Movie Primes already, but I must say I like the blue Ironhide. Hope I can gets me one....

Prime's bot mode just doesn't work. They can't make the bot G1 accurate colors with that transformation.

Still, the alt mode is nice. Looks like he will be staying in the box (assuming these are boxed in alt mode like the 1st wave movie voyagers).

Should clearance bring these to me cheap, so be it otherwise...

Pass on both, that fake mud on ironhide looks like crap.

this sucks. seriously. Hasbro/Takara had a chance to repaint IH into a deep maroon that would befit his G1 likeness more, but Nooooo - frankly, i really don't understand the color configuration of IH.

look at it's bot mode. really, really crappy how the colors clash - it's like G2 all over again. urgh.

Thats really not a bad price if your one of those ppl who has to have it now!!

Ironhide looks terrible IMHO. Almost bad in a way that this toy looks like a bootleg version. Bad color choices and in the wrong places too. Those neon blue eyes and missiles are just gorgeous...

Prime, truck mode looks very good. Robot, only so so. Seems too much red and nothing else. But I can see a paint wash and some minor touch up can really make this robot mode shines. Don't know if I'll get this though. As one Leader Prime is good enough for me. We'll see...

On a second look, I think I know whats on Prime that bugs me now. The neon blue. Its the same stupid neon blue that Ironhide has!

hmmm...now that i think about it, maybe (JUST MAYBE) the OP might still work...the more i look at the Alt mode, the more i wish that Movie Prime could have been done the same way as this...we'll see when these toys are released.

do you guys know why we have this Ironhide repaint?
try watching the ending speech in the film and look at Ironhide at the beginning of that scene.

i like my target robovision prime better in robot mode although the truck mode for this guy is killer

I really like the colour schemes.. too bad i won't be seeing it local for quite some time

How do these people get a hold of these for sale? Are they stolen goods? I can't think of how Hasbro would allow them to be sold otherwise. Should they be reported?

Phew glad you posted the pics! They are both ugly, and exactly what I need to beat the completist bug as far as these toys are concerned. These are two that I won't be getting for sure. Pug ugly colours... and that's an insult to pugs.

Yeah, these repaints have all kinds of FAIL written all over them. I'll be the trillionth to say it ... IH should be red. WTF Hasbro???

Why even bother if they're going to eventually do "premium" repaints? It's all about the mighty dollar. They are starting to get as ridiculous as Hot Wheels with the repaints.

I'm trying to be a completionist here, and shit like this is making me want to reconsider the idea. Older completed lines are more ideal to seek completionism, so I may bail on the movie line if this keeps up.

In conclusion .. me thinks these 2 will be shelf warmers.

I agree with you, robovision is where it's at. But still ... the blue they use on him is terrible. Why not use the same blue from regular voyager? For everything that they fix on a metallic repaint ... they ruin 2 other things that were fine to begin with. The mentioned blue coloring, and his chest paint apps ... which are just much worse on robovision. Eh, I guess robovision technically did get released first.

I mean, okay first strike prime isn't THAT bad. Look at some of the custom repaints in the kitbash forum ... Hasbro will never match the prime's I see over there. Not even close.

Both of these manage to impress me in ways that the originals didn't. This Prime will probably be the first worthy of being placed on my Leaders shelf(thus far Fallback has beaten him to a position...I really don't like Primes)

Ironhide....mixed feelings. I hated his original black on black color scheme, and the attempt to make him look grungy is noble....but the cyan(no, that is Not Neon, please wikipedia the term) and mustard combination is a bad combination. I'd have to agree with most in saying that he needs a red color scheme...one they probably avoided to keep from associating him with Optimus (just a guess on my part). If I can devise an interesting back story for him, I might pick him up...otherwise the cash for him is going for my Deathstar Vader.

what the? optimus's shoulders are suppost to be down and ironhides legs are backwards and his door panels arent foldes. But that wont stop me from buying them because i know how to transform them the right way, so there who ever trransformed optimus and ironihde wrong!theres someone in this world who knows his transforming directions!
