Is that the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers theme?
But seriously, it sounds like they got the venerable Ron Wasserman to create the music in that promo.

Yea, there must not be a lot of Transformer fans in my area; there are about 50 Sunstorms and 4 Trypticons, and quite a few FOC things still here

There's your colors, just less yellow and more gold.
Meanwhile I found TR Wave 2 Deluxe at Walmart today. Still haven't found any Leaders or Voyagers the only Deluxe class I've found are Scourge and Blur locally (and they didn't stick around, I bought the one Scourge). I really miss the old days when stuff lingered and you didn't have to buy on sight to get what you wanted. Ended up buying Mindwipe and like him a lot. I've never had a problem with the looks of this figure, but it was tough choosing him over Wolfwire. Still, Skullsmasher is the figure I want most from the line, I'll have to get him online if the revision wave doesn't work out.

I figured the G2 Prime is colored to look more like the Prime we know and love, which is basically what the Star Convoy homage is.

Outside of a new face on the Headmaster, the Voyager Titans Return figures have just been repaints. I doubt the Broadside mold would get the retooling necessary for a good Tidal Wave.

I mean to be fair, so far we've literally just seen one Voyager repaint in the whole line. Every other Voyager mold in TR so far has no re-use that we can look at and judge. And... well. A line including both recolours and retools is not unheard of. Kind of happens all the time, actually. I don't quite see a single figure (Astrotrain) as proof of retooling for a figure not being done.

Fun falct*: the new Broadside voyager is likely a repaint of a very small release triple changer doctor called M'dic. His aircraft carrier mode was meant to carry wounded from battle, but the cries of "get on M'dic!" Proved to be too hazardous for young viewers. Alpha From is a retool of that mold's corrupted version; Daion M'dic. This supports the repaint theory very vaguely.
*- false fact, or y'know; a lie.

The track record of Hasbro whose Voyager waves in the last line - note, the line most heavily laden with mold redecoes possibly more than any other - consisting of...
Silverbolt - Cyclonus (Major retool), Scattershot (Major retool)
Optimus Prime - Motormaster (not-quite-so-major-but-still-much-more-than-a-new-head retool), Battle Core Optimus Prime (new head Retool)
Hot Spot - Onslaught (Retool)
Sky Lynx
I know, I know; Timelines, G2 Boxsets, Victorion yadda yadda but this is just concerning mainline releases since that's what our conversation was concerning. So if possibly the most redeco-heavy line in Transformers history has, for Voyagers, a single new head retool while all the others are larger-scale retools... I'm not really seeing your point.

Even going back farther to thrilling 30there was only 1 Voyager that was a straight repaint and that was doubledealer. As far as Voyagers go I think there's a much higher chance that some remolding will happen as opposed to deluxes.

First, Weirdwolf or Wolfwire or whatever... This figure is exactly why beast transformers are such fun. True, Highbrow looks very cool and is awesome as a weird attack helicopter thing. But Weirdwolf is so darn poseable in either mode as to be the most fun I have had with a Transformer in some time.
Mindwipe is not fun....
Posted by william-james88 on September 5th, 2016 @ 8:11pm CDT
Also Cyclonus was a far more extensive retool than Scattershot. Look at the bot mode, the only new part there for Scattershot is his robot head. They also share the same torso mode. I always saw Cyclonus more like a reshell kinda like first aid from off road.

Mr Skram wrote:Huh, I actually love Mindwipe. He and WW are my two favs of the line so far.
I was trying to be funny, but I should probably explain. I love dynamic use of alt modes. (The articulation of modern TFs in robot mode is well documented, so this will be sticking to alt modes.) In the case of vehicles, it is about how cool the vehicle looks and what it can do. I can imagine Highbrow flying overhead peppering Decepticons with a barrage of air to ground fire. I get the feeling of movement from Blurr (speed!) and Chromedome (muscle car like!) Yes, I have to admit that I've gone "vroom, vroom" while chasing Dead End around. So, vehicle modes are great for what they are.
With beast alt modes, I guess I'm looking for playability too, but in a different way. I love Skullcruncher/smasher or whatever in Cobotron's signature picture:
It just poses so nicely! I have Skullsmasher/cruncher posed on a flight stand looking like he is swimming through the water. Sure, it would be cool to have a bit more articulation in the legs, but it is enough to do some cool things.
WeirdWolfWire is no much better articulated in beast mode. Again, I could wish for some more (particularly on the hind legs) but I can get so much more personality out of the figure.
Mindwipe stands there. Maybe I fold his wings in. If he is flying around, his head is always pointed down, not allowing him to look like an actual bat flying. I get no dynamic poses from him. All I get is the feeling that he is staring at me trying to get me to do some weird dance or attack Autobots or something...
Don't get me wrong. He looks nicely detailed. I like the transformation (clever to fold the wings around to form the legs). But I can't really do anything with him in beast mode except have him stand there staring at me with mouth closed-open and wings folded or not. After all the awesomeness of the entire line thus far, I am very disappointed with Mindwipe.

Hardhead has a nice, if rather generic, robot mode. His alt-mode...I'm not sure if I like it or if I just feel indifference towards it. I intend to customize him into Stalker. #CivilWar
Skullcruncher though, is loads of fun. His hips are in fact loose, but not so much so that I have any trouble posing him whatsoever. What a lovely green he has, and I absolutely adore the crocodile head. So much poseablilty for what it's worth. Only complaint is the hot pink; I know that was his color scheme in geenwun, but DAMN does it clash with his nice, nice green. I also love the face on the Hasbro version. The details are so cool.
I got Titan Force Brainstorm (#Braingate) on eBay separate from Windblade and Sentinel, and have no plans to acquire either of those two. It cost me $50, but with how much I like the figure, I'm okay with it. This deluxe Brainstorm (#Braingate) blows the Voyager Brainstorm (#Braingate) out of the water. I mean, I used to really like the voyager fig, but having this deluxe one...it scales better with Perceptor and Wheeljack, it has better poseablilty, it has better colors, it has better proportions, it has...actually, I like the weapon integration on the voyager better. I wish there was a way to make the guns on the nose of the alt-mode point up instead of down in robot mode.

There is. The landing skid on the nose piece, if it were turned upside down for the Titan Master to ride in, can fit into the hole in the back of Brainstorm where the front wheel goes. It means that the piece that flips over onto the back doesn't go down all the way, but it traps the nose in nicely creating the weapons-up look in the back.
Do you see what I mean? Another user here suggested it, but I don't know if I ever saw a pic. I might snap one tomorrow and post it. I have some other pics of Computron to post...

I don't think it ever sailed on the water, it traveled submerged (if I remember correctly), then it came out of the water and proceeded to fly for the rest of the show

Be careful with the blue parts on his lower legs that have the wheels. One of mine was a bit floppy out of the box. Specifically the one the little pod thing attaches to. Don't know how widespread an issue it is. I haven't seen anyone complain about it, but it's the only thing I've had problems with. Could just be a broken or malformed tab or something.

Still though, if there is one thing I'd like, it's to see bots with multiple alt modes. If we really do get Overlord as the next leader after Sixshot, I'd like to see others using multiple alt modes at the same time, like the duocons and Tidal wave. It is so cool to combine several vehicles to make a character

Could be, he costs 230$ in Canada making it 264$ with taxes in Quebec. So he just ends up as a big expensive toy Parents arent likely to buy at retail, especially since the kids dont know the character from supporting media, unlike the 200$ Kylo Ren Lightsabre. So no, at brick and mortar retail, he isnt selling all that well.
But the stores know that and thats why in the States he is predominantly sold online.
But dont worry, we will still get trypticon. the only thing that will change is that Toysrus will probably not sell him in theor brick and mortar stores to save shelf pace for stuff that sells better.

Hasbro never had a say in cloud Starscream seeing as it was an Ehobby release so you can point that blame at your overlord Takara.
As far at fort max goes I have no idea why you're so fixated on this notion that if he doesn't sell well they're going to pull titan class completely. They never once said that he was the make or break figure and Trypticon is already a for sure thing so you're freaking out over nothing.

Seriously, it's the third release in the line, they're clearly selling well enough for retailers to keep stocking him, enough with the 'it's the end of the titan class if he doesn't sell well' crap. And even if he didn't, that's on hasbro for making him a cheap retool, and not us

Overlord as a Titans Return Megatron/Blitzwing retool. We've already seen them doing Powermaster stuff as Titanmasters. Overlord was a jet and a tank so it doesn't seem too odd to me they could remake him/them as a triple-changing Voyager-class Titanmaster. Sure, a brand new mold would be awesome but at the very least it seems a plausible retool. Takara might have things in store forn Overlord, however.
Star Saber is badly in need of a new toy. If there is a decent spaceship mold for Voyager or Leader class planned for Titans Return down the line, I could see Star Saber getting a new toy. I could also see such a mold redone into IDW's Nominous Prime, considering we got an IDW-inspired Sentinel Prime in the line. I could see a lot of mileage out of a voyager-class price point spaceship mold, really. But, again, he might be more of a Takara thing.
However, beyond the rumored Vector Prime retool of Alpha Trion I am mildly puzzled at what this line could actually do. There aren't really that many Headmasters (or Powermasters), sadly and it seems the more I research plausible retool the more I just find japan-exclusive characters who seemingly would not really be all that popular in the western market, except of course for the collectors and fanboys.

Overlord was already teased at botcon this year
He's coming, and he's likely to be big (but not too big, i.e. voyager/leader class)

If they give Flywheels Skytread a body, this would be perfect.
