BotCon 2011 Theme Revealed!

Well thats a good $400+ dollars well saved for the Iacon package plus the free figure and add on sets. BRING ON 2012!

I know I said I'd rather have toys of unproduced characters than forging a whole new Shattered-Glass Animated universe...but there is one pair of Animated 'Bots that are just begging for Decepticon repaints:

Jetfire and Jetstorm into Darkwing and Dreadwind.

They combine into a larger jet, the G1 idea of Dreadwing would finally have a gestalt robot mode, and they wouldn't even need new heads: Jetstorm looks like Animated Darkwing with his visor, and Jetfire's goggle thing corresponds roughly to Dreadwind's little maroon helmet.

And then we could mix and match with the originals to create Dreadfire and Darkstorm!

No!!!!! Please no animated molds! I wanted classics this will be my first Botcon!!!! Ugh, they better make them awesome to change my mind

Hmm, do I sense a lot of knee-jerk reactions against Animated on the horizon here? Well, all I can say to that is, at least it's not Beast Machines Redux.

Out of all the TF cartoons in this last post-modern decade for the franchise, Animated did the best job of fusing homages with newer ideas, and catering both to kids and us veterans, and built up to the greatest series finale of any TF continuity. At the very least, it deserves its own Botcon set to make up for the toy line getting axed before its time.

If it uses Animated molds, this will be the first set I end up selling.

If it's animated characters in Classics molds I'm good to go.

I'm good either way, though I think I'd like to see TFA finished right since it doesn't look like Takara or Hasbro are going to do it.

*sighs* I love Animated.

I don't want to spend an arm and a leg to get this set.

I can't win.

Hopefully I am just the first to say it, but how great would it be if at Botcon would be the best place to release....

Seriously doubt that would happen. BotCon's never used a mold that hasn't seen mass release before.

And they've never done anything larger than Ultra class either. I'd be pretty bummed if Omega Supreme was anything smaller than Leader Class, and even that's just me trying to be realistic. I'd prefer Supreme class or larger.

Animated Shattered Glass anyone? I would love that but by the looks of the red Autobot symbol, I doubt it. Did any of the Animated toys only get released in Japan? Would Botcon really exploit fans by charging hundreds of dollars for toys that can be purchased cheaper? -looks back to 2007- Ah, yes they would.

I hope not ... I am not a fan of the Shattered Glass concept.

Yea, I dont think they're about to do new molds. They've always done repaints.
Perhaps omega supreme, but, only if he's based on something else.

Now I HAVE to go to Botcon!!!!!

Do I dare buy the BotCon toys this year???
