Here's your latest BotCon 2011 update. Love 'em or hate 'em, the Animated Stunticons sold out at a record setting pace! All toy packages are sold out! The following email was just sent out by BotCon:
BotCon Primus and Iacon and loose packages are now all sold out!
That's right, it took just a little over 5 days for all of the toy packages to be gone!
If you tried to place an order before today and your order went to our incomplete file, no worries as we have pulled enough sets to cover all of the incompletes. If we have any sets left after we work the incompletes, we will put them back into inventory. We will let you know if this happens, and it won't be for a couple of weeks. There will not be anymore Iacon (non-attending sets).
Also, we will not be keeping a waiting list.
Please note that we are in the middle of GIJoeCon in Florida so we won't be working the incomplete files until after April 9.
We know who you are and we will follow back up with you then. Please be patient.
We still have Protoform packages available.
We look forward to seeing you in Pasadena in a couple of months!
Stay tuned for upcoming guest information!
Brian

Sold out? Wow. Hmm...maybe Animated was more popular than people like to admit.

I take it I'll be seeing you again this year? Can't wait for the parties.
Sorry man, I won't be making it out to Botcon this year. A bunch of circumstances arose and I'll be sitting this year out. But I will be back next year, when I hope it's not an animated set.

Wow. I might just have to eat my words about this. I personally love Animated, but I would've thought this was a poor business decision all around, especially considering that Hasbro seemed to have canceled the line early, the cartoon was canceled (or not renewed -- take your pick), and how the toys themselves seemed to be quite the pegsitters (I'm pretty sure you can still find this at most TRUs still in limited quantities). I've been a big defender of it since day 2 (remember that horrible first pic of Optimus that got leaked ... yeah, I was pretty expressive about disliking that), but I would never have thought doing Animated at BotCon would've been a good choice.
So here we are less than one week after Registration went live, and the sets are all sold out. I think this is the fastest sell out ever. Congrats to BotCon. That's pretty amazing.

I'm absolutely shocked that this sold out like it did.
I still need help in acquiring this set and it looks like it's going to be somewhat harder to do now.

I think the whole Animated hate is more a case of a vocal minority. Most(if not all) TF fans I know that don't frequent forums loved it, but it seems to get a big negative rap from select groups online.
So excited I was able to get my Primus set(ordered as soon as I got my Club e-mail). I'm so hyped, this will be my first Botcon, and I love that it's Animated. I still kick myself for not buying Animated figures when they were out en masse(for some odd reason, I thought that game stuff was more worth spending my money on at that time, because I'm CRAZY).

Botcon toys selling out should be taken as a sign that many of you (I'm not naming names) need to finish watching Animated. At 39 episodes, which go quickly, the show is leagues above anything that came after Beast Machines. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. By not watching, you are depriving yourself of one the most satisfying story lines in Transformers fiction.
Here, let me help you start at the beginning. The rest is up to you.

Sorry for necroposting, but does anyone remember the time a few board members called Ruined Forever on Botcon exclusives after the Thundercracker thing? Gawd, that was funny.

I didn't go that far. But I will say that as far as BotCon, exclusives, and what we had been told previously; the rules have changed (or where never there to begin with).

Oh yeah, the rules have changed for sure.
I'm referring more to people (or certain known trolls) who claimed there will be massive upheavals and fandomwide dismissal of Botcon and all its exclusives, promptly leading to Fun Publications shutting down and ending Botcon forever.
The fact that that Animated is one of the quickest selling sets proves once again that Ruined Forever is a bunch of malarkey.

Brian at the Transformers Collectors Club sent out a Botcon and TCC update email. The email contains information for dealers, registration problems, tickets for the HOF event, when preorders for Transtech Cheetor and G2 Ramjet go up, and when Side Burn hips.
For those of you who are planning on being a dealer at BotCon, the early multiple booth discount expires at 5pm on Friday April 15th. To register, go to BotCon.com and click on the registration button.
We are still working on the problem registrations, but we are almost finished, so if you have received an email or phone call from customer service, please respond quickly so that we can tell how many packages we may have left. I will send out another email when we know if anything more will be available.
Meanwhile, you can still order your HOF Event tickets. The tickets are limited so don't wait too long to sign up! You can add this to your package by going back to BotCon.com, click the register button and put in how many people you are registering for and when you get to the package page, select the XXXX bypass and this will defeat the $6 processing fee. You can also use this to add T-shirts and tours to your package as well. In addition, it will help us if you put your original invoice number in the notes field on the page where you put in your address and put the words "this is an addition to order (your original invoice number here)".
In order not to interfere with any religious holidays this month (Passover and Easter) we won't put the pre-orders up for Transtech Cheetor and Ramjet until the last week of the month.
Your FREE Membership Sideburn figures will ship after BotCon.
I hope you are working on your art and Fan Film entries for BotCon! Don't forget to let us know if you are entering these and have your film to us by May 2. That way, we can plan space/time for your entry.
Also, cut-offs for the BotCon tours will be May 2nd as well as we have to finalize the tickets.
If you are planning to come as General Admission, those tickets are only available at the door on the day of your admittance. Please see the General Admission tab at BotCon.com for more details.
If you have any BotCon questions, please read the Information tab at BotCon.com and the FAQs as most answers are there. If you still can't find the answer, send us an email using the link at BotCon.com.
Thanks for your support!
Brian

"Your FREE Membership Sideburn figures will ship after BotCon."
Seeing as how they were selling "Dion" membership packages at the club store booth last year, Why are they not giving Sideburn to the paid members first who attend Botcon ???
They would save tons of money in shipping. Plus it's not fair for the people who paid first get the figure last.
Warning: open your box sets and bags and inspect all figures the night you get them. I chose to do it back in Miami, and got stuck with a "Slice" missing a headlight. I had to pay shipping to mail the bad one back and it took a few weeks to get a replacement. They said they would have hooked me up at the information booth at Botcon if I had just brought it over.

I was planning on doing so anyway(for a different reason), but still thank you for the advice as I'll be mindful to check them over more carefully that night instead of simply playing with them.
Did I say play? I obviously meant admire and cherish and not act like a little kid on the floor of the convention center in front of everyone...
*ahem*
As it's my first time, should I use cash in the Dealer Room or can I depend on my card?
Edit: my 2nd question was answered by a simple read of the Unofficial Botcon Guide.
