Noble, wise, and loyal to the cause, the KNIGHTS OF CYBERTRON are steadfast in their protection of their homeworld. Any villainy that dare threaten the planet will be met with valiant courage, unwavering will, and Cybertron’s greatest warriors! All that and more will be tested soon enough though…
What remains of UNICRON has cast its shadow over CYBERTRON for years; a constant reminder to the inhabitants of the planet CYBERTRON of the war that almost destroyed their homeworld. Although he has been dormant for a long time, CAPTAIN CANNONBALL, SCORPONOK and the pirate crew of the STAR SEEKERS have arrived to change that. Hoping to use UNICRON's insatiable appetite to drain CYBERTRON dry of energon, the pirates may have underestimated the CHAOS BRINGER's own ambitions...

Sabrblade wrote:That description is full of it. They're not the "Knights of Cybertron", Unicron isn't brought online as this text would suggest, Scorponok is no one of importance in this comic, and the planet-moded Unicron in the artwork is purely false advertisement.
Still looks awesome, though.

Did Marcelo ever offer this cover art as a print/lithograph/poster ever?

Question: to those of you who own the BotCon version and are also fans of the actual Marvel G1 comics, do you consider the toy an acceptable representation of the character on the pages?

I think he could work as Marvel Scorponok. The toy is a good size compared to Powermaster Optimus Prime (the G1 toy), and the headsculpt is based on Scorponok's U.S. head design, which the comics design used.Rodimus Prime wrote:I realize that this is a serious necrobump, but my question pertains to Pirate Scorponok, who is included in this topic.

The only thing I can think of that might put someone off of using BotCon Scorponok as Marvel Scorponok is that the toy mold is just the Energon Scorponok design in G1 colors rather than actually using the G1 Scorponok design (American or Japanese). Like, G1 Scorponok didn't have treads on his legs or a jet cockpit and crane hook on his tail, or really big purple shoulders.
So if one isn't bothered by the design differences between the toy and comic designs, I think it would work fine.
