Nope, not suprising in the least, and what's with the silver barrel?

Oh well
I'll stick with saving my $$$ for the Hercules set instead

In fairness, it will be nice to complete the set… finally.
BTW, has anybody ever ordered directly from CrazyDevy before? TFSource has a 30% mark-up on this and I'm assuming BBTS will be at least that, but I'm wondering if the overseas shipping would eat up that difference anyway…

You posted in the wrong forum. Not to mention our post went up within a minute of one another, meaning I had been working on mine for a while getting it linked up, pic uploaded, and ready for the front page.
None the less, I will update the front page to credit you as the source.

Rats, I clicked "Knock Offs and 3rd Party Toys" to make sure no one had posted already but when I hit "Back" to create the thread it must have jumped back to the main section and I didn't double check.
My post was more tongue in cheek than a request for credit since it obviously took you more than a minute to format yours (I don't even remember if I know how to upload pics), but thanks.
I think I'll leave the news to the actual News Crew in the future.

It's a pity the Encore set didn't come out before he started this journey.

True that. I've got all these parts waiting for something to put them on, but I guess I can at least get rid of the "hedge my bets" KO arm attachment alternate set.

Crazy Devy charges a flat rate of $9 to ship.

So it would seem it's basically a wash then if you consider Piles of Loot and the like. Thanks for the info!

You know what? Scratch my last post expressing disappointment. When it was "waist armnor" I thought it was the same waist piece that came with the last set. But, no. This is actually something useful.
Feeling good about this set now.

Maybe it'll cover that odd gap that their waist swivel created in the last set. It looks longer than the original.

Intrducing ne Crazy Devy Shiny silver add on parts!
God I hope not.
I think it's just an excuse to add more shiny silver paint, but that's just me.

It seems that CrazyDevy has listed several of their Constructicon upgrades for preorder off of their own site. However...
rpetras wrote:I'll stick with saving my $$$ for the Hercules set instead
I have several of the "King's Power Pieces", but they do cost quite a bit. Just a rough estimate (w/o shipping), I must've paid $120 to get the sword, shoulder cannons, and wing upgrades, while still having to buy the actual reissue for $185! If I would've purchased the replacement head and feet upgrades, it would've passed that mark. And I do have the new fists on preorder.
If you were to buy all 6 CD upgrades, you will definitely spend over the $120 to get the actual encore release. Let's just say $300 w/o shipping for encore and all upgrades. Hercules is going to be a beast, and I really like Exgraver. But at $100 a pop for each figure... well, you'll probably need all the extra cash you can round up.
This is definitely not a decision to make lightly, unless you have some serious bank on the side...

So this latest add-on is suppose to eliminate that problem? And recently I just pre-ordered what I thought was my final Crazy Devy kit at TFsource and now this....gundam!!!

Yes, the new chest wing is supposed to fasten better than the original which isn't very hard because the original does a lousy job at it.

And is this the final Devastator upgrade from them?
Posted by Lapse Of Reason on October 24th, 2011 @ 3:03pm CDT
The barrel is meh, although I am using the new silver one now. Looks okay, although I might go back to the purple one someday. I'm really only keeping the silver one on so I at least feel I got some value out of this purchase.
The hip piece is articulated by simply using a peg system. Reminds me of the World's Smallest Transformers joint system. The plastic is thinner than the original so you can see light shining through it a little more. At least it is longer and looks a little better than the original size-wise.
Overall, I think this is one of the most pointless upgrades yet. Anyone on the fence should NOT waste their money. If this was maybe $5 I'd say go for it. I can't believe I paid over $30 for this crap.
Posted by Gauntlet101010 on October 24th, 2011 @ 5:53pm CDT
I'm not sure if my chest shiel is crooked or if it's the waist swivel from the previous upgrade not fitting in very well. But, yeah. There's a lot of empty space thamks to their last upgrade they could have filled using the chest shield. The hip articulation peice is actually the one I like best since it allows you to post Devestator without that part popping off all the time. Although it's soemthing they could have and SHOULD have simply built into the legs they made in the first place.

Lapse Of Reason wrote:What a serious waste of money. I now have all of the upgrades and I bought this one so I'd have them all. I just got CDMW-25 and I am quite disappointed. The chest piece is just marginally larger than the original and does not stay on much better. In fact, it I try to press it in all the way so that the peg on one side is fully inserted and the clip on the other side is on, the chest shield is crooked! I have to have it pulled off the peg slightly so that the clips are off in order for it to look right.

This is pretty spot on. It's a waste of money unless you want the silver barrel. The hip plate is kinda decent. The chest wing is nearly identical to the vintage one.
