I'm a little surprised they changed the name of Octane to Tankor.
I'm totally excited to get a time frame to order me some Seacons too!

...Ironic, I who wanted the set so badly, more than almost anyone, and waited and waited and waited... and I'll be the only one who actually be able to get a set.
c'est triste.
As for Classics... well, whatever. I'm not really excited for that line, so pass.

But he looks good. Not quite what I was expecting, and maybe a little bland, but still a good looking figure.

I'm planning on joining but don't have the funds to do so right this minute.

Or Maybe Archer doesn't think "Octane" is an Evil sounding name...

Well, that I can do. The info for the Seacons and Nightbeat is what Pete posted. He did say images of both would be in this coming magazine.
As for Sunstreaker, he has a robot mode very similar to Alternator Mirage. What is interesting, is that the front end of the car folds down to make his back. So there is a good chance that when Sideswipe is released, his back with be Sunstreakers front. Very clever of Hasbro to make two robot modes out of one figure. I can predict many Punch/Counterpunch customs coming from this figure.

exactly! Why post it here? I get nothing from this.
OH YAH!!! I didn't pay 50 bucks to see an image of something that will be released into stores a couple of months from now.

Because the image is copyrighted. Plain and simple.
Plus the club WILL revoke the membership of anyone caught sharing the exclusive material.

Tankor as a name pretty much sucks. Especially for a character as cool as Octane. Couldn't they at least go MEGA OCTANE, like they did for Onslaught in RID? I know a rose is a rose, etc., etc.
Prowl is always as a must buy. I'm looking forward to seeing a Sunstreaker pic.
It's not pointless. It has created buzz, and may force some people who have been on the fence about joining to open up their wallets.

Sounds like the ALT/BT Side Swipe mod with the trunk as his chest.

Yes.. people used to post links to a site that would host torrents to Masterforce and Victory.
I don't need your permission to go to another site and find images either. We all saw the pics sneaked out of botcon months ago...
These were posted on seibertron because thats where I got them.

No, the image preview is. The figure will get a general release under the Transformers Universe banner.

Note the banner. That's not Botcon, that's Comic-con. The club has no control over what Hasbro shows at other independent events.

How exactly does one go about copyrighting a image of a product that you dont actually own, produce, have proprietary rights to, etc.?

I think as we are all consumers of TF,s we deserve to see the pics as well, especially since were the people they need to advertise their shit to cos we're the ones who are gonna be buying them! This is totally f**king out of order.
Posted by Sowndwave76 on January 23rd, 2008 @ 7:45pm CST
Even though I haven't seen the pix, I was just hoping for other characters.
Actually, I'm pretty disappointed.

Its just hard to think of people being against posting copyrighted material... because if you check out the "Transformers News"... a news story is when someone uploads Transformers Animated up on Youtube.
Oh well, I see the business side of it.

So what exactly are you getting all uppity about? You've seen Sunstreaker, this is just a pic. Seibertron.com wants to respect the wishes of the Official Club, what exactly is the problem?
Starscreams bad comedy wrote:How exactly does one go about copyrighting a image of a product that you dont actually own?
Okay, pay attention folks, this is how it works.
Fun Publications pay Hasbro a licensing fee to be the "Official Club". The only way for them to afford that licensing fee is through membership fees.
They need to offer something to members that isn't readily available. The big way to do this is through exclusive figures. But there are times like now that they try to offer a piece of news exclusively to their members.
That is why it is copyrighted and that is why they requested that the image NOT be given to the general public.

As regular consumers, you should wait like every other normal person. There's no rule that says Hasbro has to release these images. They can advertise them upon release, just like they normally do and they will sell fine.
The image was given as a gift from Hasbro TO the Club to release to club members. If you are too stubborn to join the club, quit whining about not having access to privileged information.
It's as simple as that.

agreed, but this is like that Classics post in the toys thread. I dunno...
"DO NOT POST IMAGES OF COPYRIGHTED MATERIALS!!"
"NEWS FLASH, YOUTUBE HAS EPISODE 1 OF TRANSFORMER ANIMATED UP"
pick a side and stick with it.

Being alive does not entitle you to anything but your death. The decisions you make can entitle you TO SOME THINGS, but other people can also control your entitlement to things they own. It's scary, but you are not in control of everything in your life.
This thread is getting very old very quick. Everytime there is a club exclusive people get upset because it is EXCLUSIVE, and they don't want to pay for the right to take part in that EXCLUSIVENESS.
If we can't cut out the cursing, and what is leaning towards flaming, we'll just have to start handing out what you have become entitled to receive...warnings and bannings.
Discussions are welcome. Nonsense arguments and insults are not. They just prove to make people angry.
No you do not have to be a member of the club to order them, but it will make it cheaper if you are, and also you may not be able to get your hands on them because the club members will be offered first dibs.
The have and have nots are present everywhere. You can still enjoy TRANSFORMERS being a member or not, but if you are a member there are benefits...

People complain there are no perks to the club, then when they offer some people complain yet still because they aren't members.
Now then Sunstreaker looks great and the mold has total potential to converted into Sideswipe and Red Alert.
All this will be moot once some other prototypes end up on ebay, but pretty cool to get the exclusive.
Can't wait for my Magazine in the mail to see the rest.
