Hello all, I have a quick update this morning on the next Transformers Figure Subscription Service for all those wondering when orders will start:

The order period for the TFSS 4.0 will begin in August and will cover two pay periods to help those wanting to pay in full upfront. Of course if you do need to spread your payments out rather than pay in one lump sum, there is, as always, the 3 payment installment plan as well. The TCC expect to start taking orders for the TFSS 4.0 starting around the middle of the month.

Stay tuned for additional information on all six TFSS 4.0 figures - Bludgeon, Ruckus, Windsweeper, Spinister, Needlenose and Impactor.

And remember, anyone who completes the subscription will receive a FREE Bonus 7th Deluxe Class Combiner Wars figure!

Can someone provide a price or a price estimate for the subscription? Being able to budget for this would be helpful.

This post on the last page of the thread mentioned it being comparable to 3.0, so thanks to shipping/etc I'd budget yourself about $425, which assumes a minor increase in price from 3.0 (better to plan for more, right?)

Basically, about the same price as a Botcon set for more or less the same amount of figures. Makes sense to me.

Confirmation of a seventh CW mold knocks out any Thundercracker speculation. That's just totally in the face of Hasbro's statements about completing the seekers if either SW or TC is done. Perhaps he'll come through Hasbro then. Glad nobody took me up on that bet. ;)

Curse you and your reasonable maths!

I didn't realize how much 3.0 had jumped, actually. And was hoping for the sign up to open in September, not August. Oh well.

I'm excited for a 7th deluxe! Didn't realize that would be the case.

Hoping for Crankcase...

If it's comparable to 3.0, then it was $297 + shipping + installment fees (if you choose to not pay the lump sum up front). I just got charge $117 for the 2nd installment of 3.0, so hopefully closer to $375 or less.

Can't wait for hi rez pictures of Bludgeon and the others.

Could we get alt mode pics too want to see how Impactor would work from the Rook mode.

If anyone here works for TCC or know anything about these sets could Impactor also get a Drill accessory instead of the clamp or are you/they limited to only making new heads?

Any idea what that impactor is gonna cost? mmc is making one for about 80 bucks so if this is pricy I'll just get it.

Do we know how frequently and how severe the qc issues are? I wouldn't necessarily bring it up, but I do remember that previous tfss figures have had some problems; most recently nacelles massive issue. I won't pay $300-400 for a combiner with qc issues that keep it from being a decent figure.

$300 would be a lot easier to swallow. Do you have to pay shipping on each piece? I haven't done a full subscription before, and I hadn't even considered that cost.

I hope the 7th one is either:

Crankcase from Swindle
Guzzle from Brawl
Quake from Brawl (with Targetmasters and new head) (I think Pete said no on this one..)
Ironfist from First Aid (new head)

Logically, the 7th figure will be a repaint of one of the others. Who knows, though...

Primarily, yep, but the Minicon buddy at least looks marginally like the Humanoid Pretender shell, so for at least a temporary amount of time this is my "Classics" G1 Roadblock. Basically once something better comes along, off to the G2 shelf it goes.

Funny, all the uses the little guy gets. i'm using the Micron as Fistfight, for no other reason than he matches the colors on Prime Shockwave.

Shipping is included either in the up-front cost, or the installments. It's not an unreasonable shipping price domestically unless you pay for the better options. If you are out of country, well, you probably know what to expect.

Where they get you is a "transaction fee". If you pay the all at once, it hits you one time. If you do the installments, they hit for each installment. It's like an extra 8 bucks. Or it was. Using the above example, the $117 installment price is probbaly the $7 transaction fee, $10 shipping fee, $100 for the two figures.

Someone else asked about how m,uch Impactor was.

  • Individvually, if yu break down the set price, about 55 or 60 bucks. A Voyager=2 deluxes in price, and we have the 7th figure, so you have 6 deluxes and a voyager or "8 deluxes", 400/"8"= $50 each.
  • On BBTS, or another, $80 Definately the high price like Scourge and Slipstream were, cause it's Freakin' Impactor and leaving aside the close but no cigar FOC fig, this is the first IMpactor figure.
  • On Ebay, IF he get's leaked, youy might be able to nab him for 55.

What "massive issue"? Neither of the two minor misassemblies were big enough deals to inhibit any of the figure's functionality and playability.

Thank you for that, I'm having difficulties finding the terms & conditions for 3.0. What I *can* say is that I've been hit with 2 transactions of $117 and expect a 3rd in August or September. That should be the end of it. So: 7 figures, shipping, and installment fees should total $351.

In-so-far as I know, it cannot be fixed without breaking the leg; also there is the whole 'paying ~$60 for a mis-assembled deluxe' thing. It may not seem massive, but what happens if something similar happens to bludgeon? You would then be unable to combine him theoretically.

It's rare that there comes a misassembly so severe as to ruin the figure on such a large scale, and in the off chance that such a case does occur it usually isn't a widespread case, instead being a isolated case or so, in which case the Club can replace one's "broken" figure if the problem is reported and taken care of quickly enough.

I agree with the price concern, but Nacelle's wing fins are a far cry from say someone's reversed thigh that prevents the vehicle halves from snapping together.

I just had a thought. Regarding the mystery 7th figure, with the Club having stated that they worked with Hasbro on it, what if it's something that Hasbro knows people want but won't put out at retail themselves, and so view this Club release of it as the official Hasbro version of whatever it is. Like, what if it's something like the UW Deluxe Groove mold by itself?

Or what if it's something like the UW Deluxe Groove redecoed as the G1 Triggerbot Override, as a sort of karmic reaction to how Takara handled the Legends Groove situation (i.e - Hasbro makes Groove a Legend --> Takara responds with a Deluxe, Takara redeco the Legends Groove as Override --> Hasbro/TCC responds with a Deluxe)?

EDIT: Nevermind. It can't be Deluxe Groove since the 7th figure is an idea that Karl Hartman has wanted to do for a long time.

RID Prime as Hot Spot with the super mode as Defensor? In this case use CW Hot Spot as Prime and the torso has a new head that's the super Prime mode.

Im not sure exactly theyre "teasing" since the 4.0 figures have already been revealed over a month ago.

The real "mayhem" begins when the 4.0 pre-order site crashes 5 times and Brian sends out a barrage of apology e-mails for a week...

Im still pissed about the purposely missassembled Nacelle tailfins. Yo Brian give us 3.0 buyers a god damn $25 credit or something !

I wouldn't get my hopes up. They didn't the last time they did a combiner (not necessarily the same, but still...), plus they like to keep their secret figures a 'secret' (leaks notwithstanding) so we might just have to wait for in hand images; but I do hope that they do reveal it, it would influence my decision.

The tampos on the tailfins were printed upside down. In attempt to conceal it they missassembled the tailfins on purpose. They are upside down and point downward in jet mode all for the sake of having the tampos pointed up properly instead of upside down. You have to crack the glue on the legs to fix it.

Unless your Nacelle has somehow spontaneously combusted your home or caused you to contract some heinous disease or something else like that I'd think you're overreacting to a rather minor imperfection that otherwise has no bearing on either the playability or functionality of the figure overall.

I didn't buy them at all, and maybe it is a stretch, but it's more the spirit of the matter, you pay, basically the price of a cheaper third party figure for a deluxe, the least they can do - as a company that makes these figures - is assemble and paint them correctly >:oP

The last combiner was membership figures spread over five years, so it's not only "not necessarily the same", it's not close enough to compare. And while I could be wrong, it's my understanding that the combiner is formed from the five already-revealed Decepticons, so showing it wouldn't really ruin any surprises.

Especially since the secret figure is a deluxe, so we know it's not going to be a supplementary figure like Groove/Blackjack/Powerglide.

Unless your Nacelle has somehow spontaneously combusted your home or caused you to contract some heinous disease or something else like that I'd think you're overreacting to a rather minor imperfection that otherwise has no bearing on either the playability or functionality of the figure overall.

To understand the extent of the problem you must also own botcon thrust to see the correct way the tailfins are supposed to be assembled. When they are assembled upside down like nacelle was, the tailfins peg in slanting down in jet mode and it looks horrible. The people who assembled them put them upside down on purpose to make the tampo facing up properly as if it wasnt misprinted in an effort to hide it. They didnt realize the tailfins are not meant to be universal. Theres a right tailfin and a left tailfin. Now theyre backwards, upside down, and slanted in jet mode. If you want to fix them you have to crack the glue which holds the legs together which im a bit nervous to do. It doesnt matter how their mock up render has the fins. Its not what we got in hand. They f**ked up and I think thats worth a small bit of compensation out of brians pocket. I spoke with angie at TFCC and suggested the idea, but of course one complaint isnt gonna make it happen. They would have to get a barrage of nacelle complaints to seriously consider some form of reimbursement for 3.0 subscription buyers. Im shocked that a fandom known for being anal about even the slightest defect is just going to let this one slide. What happened to all the people who complained when SG drift got two right or left guns ? People bi**hed like hell and those were bonus parts that werent even supposed to come with that version of the mold. But here a figure thats legitimately screwed up and nobodys giving the club hell. :BANG_HEAD:

The tampos are printed correctly.

No offense buddy but youre wrong.

I guess people who dont own Botcon Thrust wont get it. Heres some comparison pics I took to explain the screw up…

As you can see in these images, the tampos were printed upside down before assembly. However the tampos were placed with the proper side facing up during assembly by putting the right tailfin on the left side of the jet and the left tailfin on the right side of the jet. This results in the tailfins pointing downward in jet mode. It also results in the larger portion of the tampo part of the tailfin being underneath instead of on top as it was meant to be with Thrust.

Whether this miss assembly was intentionally done by the factory workers to hide the tampo being printed upside down is unknown. Or maybe they’re just really, really stupid. Either way, there’s no excuse for this and buyers deserve some form of compensation. As I said earlier, my complaint alone isn’t going to be enough to sway them. If you got a misassembled Nacelle, give the club a call and voice your discontent. If they get enough complaints, maybe down the line we can get a store credit or a new set of legs properly assembled even if the tampo is upside down.

That's comparing them to Thrust. Compare them to the digital mock-up next; they weren't meant to mirror Thrust's exactly.
