Wasn't too long ago that Generations Jetfire was found at retail in Canada. Now it seems we have a U.S. sighting as well. Brandan Smith posted an image on the Facebook group Cybertron Cafe: The Transformers Trading Group of a Jetfire he found at Kmart in Virginia. Time to activate those keen toy hunting skills.

Dude, I see where you are coming from, but a true high grade macross (what Jetfire was originally) is insanely high. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?siteid=0&pub=5574891718&campid=5336631220&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.ca%2Fitm%2FAcrcadia-Macross-Plus-Kanzen-Henkei-YF-19-With-Fast-Pack-1-60-Action-Figure-%2F200981863626%3Fpt%3DUK_Collectables_AnimationCharacters_Anime_SM%26hash%3Ditem2ecb73dcca%26_uhb%3D1%26

If you really want a good one, patience pays off- I've cobbled together several Matsushiro Jetfires for under $150 each. It can be done, and it's way more worth it than that red chromed hollow thing that isn't sure what it is. Also, Jetfire was a VF-1S, not a YF-19

Why are you comparing the Yf-19 to the current leader class Jetfire.
You can get a Macross Valkyrie for much cheaper.

Ryan's gallery, he takes great pictures of his collections (nope......no suck up). And Jetfire IS gorgeous. Not perfect Masterpiece class but gorgeous.

every morning. lol.
seriously though, there are sooo few paint apps, the forearms, the thighs, and the biceps are all hollow, no ankle articulation, and a giant fuselage hanging off its back on a $45 leader class figure with no electronics.. i'm sorry, but that's insulting. they go from the DOTM leader class figures to this. it's just sad.

i guess i'm more annoyed that we've waited for these figures for a while, they treat them like this, and now we won't get another for a long time.

i guess i'll have to wait for a masterpiece figure.. one where both modes are recognizable from the show.

some people like it, so that's good, at least it'll show hasbro that we want the line to continue. i just hope it doesn't continue the way it is.

Im still on the fence about this figure. Ill have to pass by TRU and check it out. Im not sure if I want to skip the pointless metallic red and go for the takara version. Or I might skip the stupid macross jet mode all together and wait for mechaform Sky Guardian.

I think you mean this one (complete with armor) by Yamato now known as Arcadia. Yup, Jetfire is a cheaper alternative. Even the Bandai re-issues of the Takatoku molds are so hard to get bye cheap

Well, there are the two Leader-Class Megatrons coming next year....G1 and the Armada remold. So they're still doing Leader Class. I would have liked a few more paint apps on this version, even if it meant losing the red chrome. I could do without that for a less spartan looking figure.

No, I was not "on crack" when I wrote it. I don't care for comments like that, and they aren't necessary. Comment on the figure and leave it at that. In other words? Knock it off.

For the negatory posters, maybe just don't buy Jetfire? There's DACA toys and the other 3rd party fig out there (2x or 3x the price iirc of the official release). I too would have preferred a G1 cartoon accurate rendering but we get what's given to us. Hasbro and Tomy ain't forcing us to buy him anyways.

Yeah I saw Virginia and I was like :O I'm just down here a few hours out in Raleigh, so I'll have to check out the surviving K-marts here. Although we only have like two left here, they've closed 3 locations here in the past year and a half.

According to this post, by CYBERGEEKS Alliance, Hasbro has set up a contest for a Lucky Draw Silver Jetfire figure. At this time, it seems to be aimed at the Malaysian Hasbro sector, due to the inclusion of "SDN BHD" (Sendirian Berhad), meaning "private limited" in Malay, and the name of the retailer Aeon. We do not know at this time whether or not it will expand outside of the Asian region, but as soon as we know, you will.

Here are the requirements (taken directly from the flyer):

-Purchase one unit of Jetfire

-Complete the lucky draw form and answer the questionnaire

-Send the form and the original purchase receipt to the address listed on the back of the form

-All entries must reach Hasbro by October 15th

It states that only 3 will be given out and that winners will be notified via e-mail.

Ahem... GOOOOOOOD idea. Yay!

Too bad I will never, ever be able to participate to such a contest. Yup, Quebec again. Any sweepsake, drawings, or contests, or even random promos are completely forbidden in Quebec unless you pay some sort of fees and taxes at the Société Des Lotteries et des Jeux du Québec. Also, you must back up any prises you give by depositing the equivalent money ammount in their coffers, in case of any screw-ups of frauds.

Sure, this law does protect us from fake contests. Unfortunately, it mean most foreing contest will never bother dealing with that cumbersome law. Even when the "contest" is just to send a cuppon to get free stuff instantly! Like a free MTG card when you purchase the video game on XBLA. Oh well...

I expect that Jetfire to pop up on Ebay pretty soon... with a over 2000$ price tag.

BTW, Jetfire transform into a bus.

I've never heard of Hasbro having a Lucky Draw figure. At any rate I appreciate that this isn't something that I have to have, otherwise I'd be disappointed by it's rarity. As is it's just an oddity that someone will win.

It's not the same thing in this case. Jetfire's white have been replace by a all silver chrome job. So, the all red chrome weapons make perfect sense here. Having way too much money in hand, I'd buy that Lucky Draw in a heartbeat!

Probably some law in that jurisdiction that makes asking a question to prove it's a contest with some "skill" involved and not completely random "gambling", but no law on how hard the question has to be.

Dumb, but not as dumb as Quebec's contest/giveaway laws apparently. Sheesh.

So go to TRU, buy one off the shelf, and when your online order arrives, takes it back and return it - or just cancel the online order. No big deal. >:oP

Do think the chrome is less annoying in person than in pics, but Hasbro did a kinda sloppy job with it that you notice if you get too close.

Not a sloppy job in a sense but shiny red chrome in the light spectrum, it glares to the human eyes...really uncomfortable. The alternative aside from purchasing the chrome remover is to wait in end of December 2014 for the Tomy version.

I finally managed to open and try out Gen Leader Jetfire.
The guy who said he felt like a KO must be smoking some great stuff because Jetfire feel like a solid and high quality toy. Sure, he don't have the mass nor the level of engeneering of say, HOTD Leader Starscream. However, he feel solid, is perfect looking in both modes and is great fun to transform.

The chrome is not too bad in person and the hollows are a non-issue for me. Unless you love to stare at your TFs inner tighs (you sick perv, you.) or you remove his "null rays", the hollow bits remain hidden and don't take anything away from the overall look.

Was it worth the 60$+taxes I paid for? In my humble opinion, defenitely. I dunno if Jetfire is the first CHUG leader ever, but he's a win and defenitely worth owning.

Yeah, all the way. I mean what the hell? This is a mass retail 50-60$ figure. Not a limited 100-200$ MP or a 200-500$ Maccross Veritech, for crying out loud!

Verily. I own a Yamato 1/60 scale Perfect transform DYRL version ( same size as Leader Jetfire ). It's stock full of features, details and options. iirc, cost around $ 200.00 ++ almost 3 years ago. I have no complaints at the pricing. For those daring to compare it is like apples and oranges.

I personally prefer it left in vehicle mode. When it's swiveled up, it reminds me of IDW Stormbringer Jetfire, which is fine and all for some, but not me. This is G1 Skyfire and the robot mode pulls it off quite well. Those giant thrusters look doofy sticking straight up out of his back. So dumb.

Swivels so in 'bot mode it becomes a booster pack I guess.

So dumb.

Yah! Agreed. The thrusters in henkei Skyfire is more proportional in that the guns are collapsible. In the 30th (again, what could have been, maybe aside from the option to swivel, the ability to pull the housing backwards), those two thrusters reminds me of the extended "Main Guns" of the SDF -1.

I know it's mistransformed but it looks better like this. Trust me ;)

OHHH! Hah. No, I meant the black booster exhausts themselves. They swivel up and down for whatever reason. I knew why the jetpack moved, but it's thrusters move too, for whatever reason.

Would 30th Jetfire look better if a special ed was released using this type of scramjets ( calling Tomy or Hasbro...another pocket hurting concept for you to squeeze the mold  )?

Its figures from my Zoids sets. There the same scale it seems. Or at least the cockpits are the same scale.

If it's an exact fit, it can't be coincidence. Zoids is owned by Tomy, now part of TakaraTomy who does the sculpting for Transformers. They're not shy of cross-brand references.
