HASBRO “ROLLS OUT” TRANSFORMERS HALL OF FAME
TRANSFORMERS Fans Will Participate in Selecting One Robot for the Class of 2010
Pawtucket, R.I. (March 26, 2010) — After more than 25 years of “MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE” action, Hasbro (NYSE: HAS) is announcing the TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame that will honor both “ROBOTS IN DISGUISE” and those influential in creating and building this iconic entertainment brand.
Heroic AUTOBOTS OPTIMUS PRIME and BUMBLEBEE, as well as evil DECEPTICONS MEGATRON and STARSCREAM, will be the first robots honored with admission as chosen by Hasbro’s TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame internal panel of judges. TRANSFORMERS fans around the world will determine a fifth robot to join the inaugural class via voting on the Transformers.com website starting on Monday, May 10, 2010. The winning robot will be revealed Saturday night, June 26, 2010 in Orlando, FL at the annual TRANSFORMERS convention known as “BotCon” when the entire Class of 2010 will be officially inducted.
“The TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame celebrates a global entertainment property that has sparked the imagination of millions of kids over the past 26 years and remains one of the world’s most iconic brands,” said Greg Lombardo, senior director of marketing for TRANSFORMERS. “Starting in 2010, Hasbro will annually honor fans’ most-loved characters from the world of CYBERTRON as well as those individuals who have helped shape a brand that has spawned an army of popular action figures, multiple animated series and two blockbuster live action movies that set worldwide box office records.”
First introduced in 1984 by Hasbro and Takara as a toy line, the TRANSFORMERS brand
has provided kids with hours of MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE fun with their action figures that convert from robot to vehicles and back again. Legions of boys around the world grew up creating fantastic adventures and battles set on both the planet CYBERTRON and Earth that featured the “good-guy” AUTOBOTS and the “bad-guy” DECEPTICONS. Since then, more than 7500 robots have been introduced and are now eligible to earn a slot in the TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame’s inaugural class.

Take that glow off and if anything, give it a black stroke to run in with the black panel behind, almost as if it was a thick comic outline. But the glow and the font is cheesy. In fact the botcon font looks so dated whereas the Transformers some how has survived the test of time. The typeface for botcon is one of those fonts that is tring to hard. Sorry just saw those 2 fonts and that glow and I couldn't help myself.

- Star Saber (he is supposedly stated to be the greatest Autobot Supreme Commander of them all)
- Optimus Primal
- Beast Wars Dinobot (Code of Hero should explain why)
- Animated Prowl (Endgame - Part II)

Ok, to be contradictory with what I said, I have to say that Shockwave would also be an excelent choice and should also be there.

In all seriousness ya'll did catch the little part about inducting those that helped pave the way for TF's? This might be interesting as there has been discussion over the years as to who "created" the Transformers. In my opinion the Japanese gentleman who created and copyrighted Convoy should be inducted first.

mainly as in the comics he's the foil for optimus that starscream is to megs.
i just get the awfull feeling that if he gets in TF3 bay will choose the moronic cartoon version.
interesting to see NO ONEs nominated a person to be honored for contributing to TF like they asked so ill kick it off.
To me that'd have to be FURMAN.
I dont think the franchise wouldve had the longevity it did if not for what he laid down in the comics, yes budianski started things off but furman ran with it and theres a whole slew of crap that wouldnt exist if not for him . he's influenced in one way or another every TF writer since.

Why? There's at least that many ROTF Bumblebee repaints....
But that belies my thought. If repaints count, then there could be that many. I know that like, "Freeway Jazz" and regular ol' Jazz are the same character (for Animated at least, I guess) but since we either throw around or get beaten up by continuity issues, then are G1 Jazz and G2 Jazz and SG Jazz and Animated Jazz and movie Jazz all the same guy? If they all are seperate, and if HAsbro is counting variants of the individuals as individuals, then every incarnation of Jazz is a seperate Jazz, which would make "Battle damaged Jazz" or whatever a seperate Jazz as well. Plus, there are 1.6 trillion Optimus PRimes before we count repaints. So, 7,500 does sound like a lot, but it could be do-able.
