The video will take you through the Transformation in its 15 minutes runtime.
It was boasted that HasLab Unicron would take an hour to transform at first, due to his enormous size and the plates that made up his planet mode surface.

If anyone would post a picture of how that would look, that would be very cool.

I'm more for the left removed, with the robot mode looking cleaner. That said, when I first watched a Japanese review including the 30 min. long transformation (he was *really* careful and showing off connection points), I was aghast of how the entire shell is just collapsed on his back and legs. What really got me though, was the soft rubber spike strips just... hanging loose. I got over the first, much less the second.
I was reminded of peeling mandarins, really
:EDIT: Just an addition I'd like to make: whoever designed the rings and their transformation has to be a mathematician, specialising in circular geometry. He deserves an award!

I think I'm liking the removed spikes, but maybe not the horns pointed down (I thought they would tuck in more).
I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep mine. Bought it when I was employed and had (presumably) steady funds; now I'm unemployed and money is tight.

Idk how to contact them directly, I’m praying for the day they release a sticker set for this guy. I’ve been applying the g1 fort max upgrade set for weeks in preparation and I’m just floored with the quality they’re so good just make some for Unicron ples
They have a contact page for stuff like that.

That sounds pretty cool. I always liked those characters in BW Neo...
Hmm... I'm sensing a pattern...
Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge
Elphaorpha, Latolata, Drancron
Hook, Line, Sinker (sorry can't say that last one without laughing)

Shame Armada broke the pattern

Then Armada broke it with first just Sideways and then just him and Thrust (who had to be convinced to side with Unicron rather than always being his minion).o.supreme wrote:Hmm... I'm sensing a pattern...

On that note...one interesting thing that happened was that the box for Unicron was like, half an inch too wide to fit through my attic door.

Grey maw or no grey maw in person he is a sight to behold! I haven't finished assembling him yet, just gonna enjoy him in planet mode for a bit.
For Armada ... wouldn't it be Thrust, Sideways, and Nemesis Prime? It's not quite the same as the other unholy trios, but it's still three, right?
Universe really broke the pattern, though. I didn't get all of them, but I got Razorclaw, Nemesis, and Thrust ... but they made a lot of the BW recolors Unicron minions, so there was a ton.

I actually had a section for "Unicron Heralds" or any other high-ranking position within the God of Chaos hierarchy:
Generation 1
Galvatron
Cyclonus
Scourge
Beast Wars Neo
Drancron
Elphaorpha
Latolata
Armada
Sideways
Energon
Airazor
Cheetor
Rhinox
Terrorsaur
Universe
First Set
Razorclaw
Tankor
Obisidian
Reptilion
(Strika)
Second Set
Nemesis Prime
Ramjet
That's as far as I got

edit:
Mixed up some acrylic paint I had laying around for a good enough touch up. It'll do. I feel dumb, but I plan to paint or sharpie his teeth anyway.
Next time I transform him I'll just detach the head.

You don't have to remove it, no.
Although I suppose you should remove it.

They have a Unicron MISB asking $1700, almost 3X original price, that seems to be the average asking price on eBay as well.
Not that I woudl ever pay that much (I wasn't even willing to pay $700 for tyhe original price), but it is still neat to see .

I've been watching a couple items for several months, they slowly creep down in price occasionally. But I would think paying months and months worth of listing fees would eventually make the item not worth selling.

It all depends on how big or small scale they are as sellers. Ebay commonly gives out seller incentives like no Listing fees for your first 50 or 100 Listings within a month or something similar, so there is a good chance these ridiculously high listings are not costing them anything. I haven't paid a Listing fee in over a year because of this.

I actually got a second head from ebay. Never asked why the seller was selling just the head, but there it is.
Maybe Unicron fell and broke or something and now they're selling what they can. It's weird that it's just the stand and not the base, though.

Maybe the base is what broke? Weird in any case because I would guess the market of people who may want it is extremely small (possibly zero).

I took a few random large Headmaster heads and placed each of them on top of Unicron's body, in lieu of Unicron's own noggin. The heads of Titan class Scorponok, Titan class Grand Maximus (TR Fort Max mold), and Car Robots Brave Maximus (G1 Fort Max mold) all just sit very loosely on Uncron's body, as expected.
BUT, the Robots in Disguise 2001 Megatron Megabolt mold (the one based on Beast Machines Megatron's big floating head) actually sits rather snuggly on Unicron's body. I tried it both with and without the spider legs, and the legs actually help to secure it in place! The rear legs rotated upward line up rather well with Unicron's collar, the middle legs rotated to point backward wrap around the collar's front edges, and the front legs just rest on the top of Unicron's chest.
This means that one of (if not the) most accomplished Megatrons ever has a toy that can actually interact with the Unicron toy in a somewhat decent fit, allowing him to appear to possess Unicron's body, yeeeeesss.

I have that 3P figure (plus its ring extension upgrade kit) and, while it does look nice in both modes and is much easier to carry around, it is also way more fragile in both modes and a total nightmare to transform. The HasLab one may be enormous and have all of the downsides that Thew goes over, but it is far more stable, sturdy, and less likely to break than the 3P one.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Some of the community might turn their noses up at 3P (which is a uniquely TF issue anyway) but they did Unicron better and it cost a lot less.
