From our colleagues accross the pond, FMH, we have images of Headrobots upcoming Butcher upgrade set for Universe Onslaught. This set will feature a remolded Headmaster unit, a dagger that can also serve as a bayonet, plus the original Hothead guns and action pack. Images are mirrored below.

I would be more in love with Headrobots...if I had a few more Universe Onslaught molds to work with.

Don't mean to knock them. I really love the idea and execution. Just literally wish I had a few more Universe Onslaught molds (and Hardhead) so I could enjoy!

I really like Onslaught, think it looks awesome. I think the head he comes with is better. Never got the point of Head Robots or Headmasters, while the head is in robot form the main bot is headless which seems daft to me. Target Masters I understand.

This looks pretty good but I am not sure I'm willing to buy this set again. Give me something new HR.

Man,they're making so many headrobots! I would like to see a special one that could fit on the Fansproject bruticus head ball-joint.it wouldn't be acuratte, but it would sure be cool! :KREMZEEK:

finally, guns colored for onslaught. True i have the takara one, but thats the one they use in the art work and i think it looks better than the universe pictures. FINALLY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Check the clearance sections a Walmart, that's were I pick mine up for only $11. Also I have seen this figure at TJ Maxx a few times, good hunting!

I think this set would be a yes if it was just a new head, making it much cheaper, like the Blood set. I really don't need a non headmaster becoming a headmaster.

I think the new head for the onslaught mold thing is played out. Move on to something else Headrobots. It made sense for the Hardhead repaint but the rest is just silly.

Not much compulsion to get this. Another exclusive for a con maybe?

I made a quick digibash to compare these two... Stronghold VS the Japanese rich blue Onslaught... that's how I'd intend to display them.

I hate it when 3rd parties attack a mold I actually PLAN to GET, but isn't still available were I live. Aftermarket Value is murder.... this guy's been re-done like twice now? Sheesh... I don't know what's worse, the fact that I want this mold, or the even worse fact that these 3rd party companies make them look so much cooler!

Another Onslaught based kit? Enough already move onto another mold.

While it DOES look great... I'm in agreement. I'm ready for some different figures. :P

I don't like the head. As Onslaught, it's too big. If I were to get this, I'd just use the new weapons with the stock head and either set the headmaster figure aside or use it on a G1 Headmaster body. I think it would look really good with the Takara version though.

Agreed. New head looks better than Stronghold head IMO, but how many clones with different heads do we really need? Also, kind of dislike when promo art shows dual bayonets but you only get one (especially when you get two guns that it could attach to). :(

I have their version of Hardhead, or whatever they called him (can't remember off the top of my head) and I love it. Quality, accessories, and price if I remember were all on the ball.

This though, while it looks equally impressive, I'm just not feeling it. The original head was pretty suited to Onslaught, and I know I gave him someone else's big schmancy gun to beef him up so I don't need to worry about lack of firepower. Looks pretty solid for anyone who does want it, though.
Re: Headrobots Butcher Images (1271549)
Posted by gothsaurus on August 4th, 2011 @ 1:49pm CDT
Same regarding the single knife.

The point is to give the repaints their own head and characters. Redoing Onslaught, plus two Hardheads, Stronghold... I'd call it overkill if I didn't really LIKE them all.

Cue crying wallet. :ic$:

I personally like the look of the new head. Not sure if I'm gonna have him as Onslaught though. Can always use new characters. I'll probably use this head and have him on the Japanese version of Onslaught, use the TFcon one and stickers with the US version. Nice to know that I'll have four characters with this mold and all with different heads (G2 Clench, Hardhead)! :D

All of you hush Ive been waiting on these weaponry for my Onslaught forever. The added knives and headrobot are just icing on the cake.
Re: Headrobots Butcher Images (1271574)

Holy crap. How'd I forget about G2 Clench!!?? (I guess because he's boxed up in the Botcon set.)

That gives us...

Onslaught (japanese blue version adding new head)
Stronghold (USA gray version with new head)
Hardhead - comic version
Hardhead - cartoon version
G2 Clench (Botcon)

The ole Onslaught shelf is starting to get heavy! Debating buying a second Hardhead for that extra head. Hmmmmm.

How could you forget G2 Clench? He so beautifully gawdy! :P

BTW, I do have 2 extra US Onslaughts if anyone wants one. Just PM me for price.

This set is nice enough, but they have become the king of 3rd party repainters/remoulders now. So many Hardhead remoulds, and so many cobra repaints. I am not dissing their work, far from it, Headrobots does great work, and I am waiting on their Blood kit.
However I really want to see them tackle Mindwipe. :BOOM: If ever there was a modern figure wanting a 3rd party headmaster partner and a gun it is Mindwipe.

I think it would be funky to try a headmaster for Sunstreaker, but the deluxe size may just be too small.

Dread_Wing wrote:I think it would be funky to try a headmaster for Sunstreaker, but the deluxe size may just be too small.

Agreed, but yeah, size plus the constraints of his transformation.

Also, looking at it (and I realise I'm nitpicking scale in a world where F-15s are basically the same size as sports cars in robot mode) a HeadMaster would have to either be a really short dude or look like Big-Head Sunstreaker if scaled to an actual human "driver"…

Yeah, get back on track and put out BOTH bloods!

Thinking about it... who are the other jumbo Classics that could get a Headmaster treatment? I can't think of any that are good, logical choices. Jumbo sized mini-bots don't really fly. Same for Micromaster homages.

There's Darkwing, but Renderform already knocked that out of the park.

What's left to do that would be epic? Any ideas?

kinda reminds me of grimlocks head. i really wish they would make heads for other toys, i got my hardhead already. i would really like to see headmasters for the masterpiece figures, just think: a head for mp-01 that can turn into a robot and sit in the chair in truck mode. still think they should make a new head for g1 scorpnok.

I suppose one benefit for the G1 crowd is that these fit on ANY HeadMaster, in addition to the Universe Onslaught molds. But IMO G1 was cool in in the '80s when I was a kid but I've kind of stepped up my standards regarding playability since then.

Meh, I already have the Takara version of the mold and I don't think he needs a new head, knives or the extra guns. He especially doesn't need to be a headmaster. That and he's coming off display because of the FansProject kits anyway. I have every version of this mold already, The first Hothead kit and Stronghold on the way. This seems like overkill and out of left field. I'm looking forward to the project for their second crack at Whirl though.

I'm glad this mold is getting a LOT of use from 3rd party folks. It really is a good mold. I'm not too stoked on this particular offering but there's becoming plenty to choose from that suites your particular fancy what ever it may be.

I also agree that these guys (or any guys for that matter) give Mindwipe a little love too. I've had him for ages incomplete and would love to see a unique upgrade made specifically for him.

Hmm… according to the BBTS listing it does come with two bayonets (or "plasma knives"). I hope this is correct.

I know I'm about a week or two late but.... Is that helicopter mold the Energon Stormcloud? The helicopter looks blue in the picture, but I can't find a blue one anywhere.... So, is it just the image that makes it look like that.

Of all the heads this one for Onslaught is by far the greatest looking. But I too agree it's time for another TF not just Onslaught.

Can anyone comment on the over all QC factor on this upgrade or other Headrobots, how do they measure up?

Lastly that illustration by Headrobtos is f*cking sweet! :VEHI:

i have the first headrobots upgrade and it really makes the hard head a whole new toy, ive always loved the headmasters and its almost a MASTERPIECE figure, all it needs is a new paint job and some articulated hands... anyway i'd recommend getting the upgrade, im gunna use it to make my masterpiece grimlock a headmaster....
