First, we have a glimpse of a new head upgrade for Generations Skullgrin titled "Tauros". Images mirrored from their facebook page below.
Next we have a set for those not pleased with the current skull head on their HFTD Voyager Banzai-Tron. Headrobots has tweeted a teaser for an upgrade set known as "Ronin" based on their previous "Blood: The Dark Warrior" set for HFTD Voyager Bludgeon. Check out the teaser art below.

No really, that guy's just chilling on his throne on my shelf, looking over at Skullgrin and wondering why he wore the same outfit to the party. Sad really.

What I would like them to do is work on Botcon 2012's Metalhawk.

But looking at the pics, I don't think Hasbro did a great job of repainting him:
And I think the bronze and silver actually look worse than the original colours:
But if there are some other things that HeadRobots can do to make the figure look a little different from Bludgeon and a little more like G1 Banzai-tron then I would be interested (like maybe cover up the skeletal arms/legs and make them look more blocky - probably not feasible though, I haven't checked).

They can be made to look totally different just the way they are. Mine stand next to each other on the shelf and you wouldn't even know they come form the same mold. I'll post a pic when I get home.
That said, I'm not getting either of these. Skullgrin is perfect (and I mean perfect) the way he is and if I were to get a Banzai-Tron for display, I'd get the Botcon one again. I sold mine a few years ago when times were tough.

If all else fails, I may find a way to hang that skull on a chain and drape it around his neck.

THAT is a wicked idea. Do you mind if I copy it. Think I'd put mine around his waist though. Skullgrin's already got quite a bulky chest.

Go for it. I may hang mine off the weapon or waist - I'll know for sure whenever I get it.

But this upgrade set would be just PERFECT for my Banzaitron. This will really set him appart as a different character.

It is, the new head will be plugged on top of it.
I'll get the Skullgrin one for the accessories alone, I may pick up two and make a Dauros with a second Skullgrin. That way I'll have two different heads!
I may have to pick up Banzaitron now.

This. It's a good head, but lets see what else Headrobots has besides a new noggin.

They look like a couple of interesting sets, but I'll pass!!
As a side note I discovered the other day that the word 'Ronin' means, "A Bushi or Bushido with no lord or master during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. A samurai became masterless from the death or fall of his master, or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege."
In modern usage, the term is also applied to describe a salaryman who is "between employers" or a secondary school graduate who has not yet been admitted to university.
So now you know, and knowing is half the....WHOOPS! Wrong cartoon.

Most of the mass-releases are available through the regular online retailers. The limited releases are done though http://www.megatoyfan.com.
