These Ironhides are Voyager class. This is a repaint of Recon Ironhide, which itself itself is a heavy remold of 2007 Movie Ironhide.

gantzrunner wrote:Seriously...? I mean while it's not the worst repaint by far I'm starting to think that ironhide will be repainted every color EXCEPT red by the time the 3rd movie toys are out. (legends and fast action battlers don't count!) Hasbro knows it has g1 fans so why not a red ironhide..a blue skids... we got our starscream ratchet jazz and others but poor ironhide keeps getting skipped!
I feel the same way. As soon as I saw this I thought "WTF? Why always blue?". Still a pass until I see him in red.

By the time TF3 hits theaters, the 3rd movie's Voyager should fall apart just by looking at it, and the pins will probably be removed like they were on Voyager Optimus.
Seriously, these movie molds have been to Hell and back, and it's only reasonable that they won't hold together forever, especially considering how intricate they are.

Oh, it's a Voyager? I could have sworn it looked like a Deluxe-sized Ironhide. My bad I would rather see this version in RED

I think I'll put him on the "maybe" list next to Sea Ravage.

I'd definitely want to pick him up.
So lets see we have so far from this mold:
Movie Ironhide
Movie Offroad Ironhide
Movie Premium Ironhide
ROTF Ironhide
ROTF Recon Ironhide
Hunt for the Decepticons Offroad Recon Ironhide. Talk about a mouthful.

Hmm. ike the mold, like the colors, don't have Zebrahide, So now to call this guy Motormouth or Turbofire? Heh heh.

How many Ironhide's will I have to buy!?

Now as for my gripe about the way they did this particular repaint...if you are going to have stuff "splattered" up on his fenders/door, then go all the way and make his tires and rims messy too. Totally screws up the effect giving him pristine tires and messy body panels. I know, it's nit-picky but for those of us getting them for display purposes, it's all about the details.

I'm hoping we will have a 100% accurate Ironhide for TF3 with proper exhausts that would be sweet. They already perfected Prime and Bumblebee so now they have to do Ironhide and Ratchet.

So you're saying it's easier to kitbash these figures now?

Nope, I'm saying future figures (like Scout Windcharger) have 3mm bars for clipping weapons onto.

If anything, they should do a Red Ironhide in the wave after the deluxe Rescue Ratchet, to go with him.

It may look alright in truck mode but I don't think his bot mode will look at all appealing in red. If he was closer to his G1 design, then yeah, give him the red treatment but I think the darker colors work better with his current body style in both modes.

I agree with you on the colors. Actually, there is a really well executed Red Repaint of the movie figure in the Kitbash forums. Though it is a really well done repaint, I think the figure looks pretty strange in red. It just doesn't work at all, IMO. So, I am not as concerned about this as many people seem to be.
I will say this; I have the 07 Premium, the 07 Offroad, and Recon IH......so, I think that is about enough of this mold for me.

Red Movie Ironhide is epically cool!
JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:To everyone who wants a red Ironhide: I think it would look too bright his type of character. Besides, to me he'll never be G1 Ironhide, but rather G1 Trailbreaker.
#1 Is there only one shade/brightness of red available in the world and I didn't get the memo?
And #2, you're right, he'll never be G1 Ironhide. That's not the point. It's color scheme, not character traits.
Besides, every other main Autobot from the first film (and a few various other Autobot names since) has gotten their G1 color treatment, Bee's always yellow, First Strike Prime, that G1 colors Jazz, Rescue Ratchet. Other than a Fast Action Battler brick that's red only in truck mode, Ironhide hasn't received the yesteryear color scheme respect.
Burn wrote:If people really wanted a Red Ironhide then maybe someone could see if Ironhide's head will attach to Alternator Prime.
How does that help the want of the Movie styled Ironhide in a red color scheme exactly?
