Centuries ago, before the war, at the beginning of the Inferno, a dingy bar on the outskirts of a long forgotten city, an old forgesmith invited the Darkness for a drink. Stingy Jack as he was known, didn't like to pay for his own drinks, so he some how convinced the Darkness to transform himself into an Energon credit, the Darkness, for whatever reason, obliged.

Stingy Jack, being the stingy mech that he was still skipped out on his bar tab. Fixing the energon credit with a transformation inhibitor, he kept the dark Energon credit at his side.

Jack eventually freed the Darkness, under the condition that he would not bother Jack for one year and that, should Jack die, he would not claim his spark. The next year, Jack again tricked the Darkness into climbing into a tree to pick a piece of energn. While he was up in the tree, Jack carved engaged a transformation inhibitor field around the tree so that the Darkness could not come down until the Darkness promised Jack not to bother him for ten more years.

Soon after, Jack died. As the legend goes, such an unsavory figure could not be allowed into the AllSpark. The Darkness, upset by the trick Jack had played on him and keeping his word not to claim his spark, would not allow Jack into the Inferno. He sent Jack off into the dark night with only a burning optics to light his way. As the centuries passed, the ghostly figure of Stingy Jack roamed Cybertron, his burning optics acting like a lantern, as his name drifted into mythology, Cybertronians began to refer to him as "Jack of the Lantern", or "Jack-o-Lantern" for short.

But Jack has grown tired of roaming, he has been witness to The Great War, he has witnessed the destruction of Cybertron, enraged, Jack has spread his ghostly influence, possessing Cybertronians with his influence, using them to spread his influence further until Cybertron is his ...

Stingy Jack's influence spread rapidly, a number of weak minded Autobots fell to his possession. The war was already chaos, already on the back foot, the Autobots now found a new threat amongst themselves.

But Stingy Jack cared little for badges, he didn't need no stinkin' badges, he wanted sparks, so he turned his attention towards the Decepticons.

The Decepticons had seen what had been happening, and had mounted a feeble defense, they had no idea what they were doing, they believed Jack shared the Decepticon beliefs, but they were foolish, none more so than the Decepticon simply named Burn who could only watch in dismay as the first Decepticons fell to Jack's influence.

"Well that ain't bloody right!" he muttered "That bloody alt is set to unavailable to the Decepticons! I wasn't going to make it available until at least tomorrow! Bloody game!"

Thus, the Smashing Pumpkin found it's way into the Decepticon ranks and Stingy Jack's influence spread faster than expected...

I'd like to register a minor degree of disappointment with fellow Smashing Pumpkin commanders on both sides...

No one's created The Great Pumpkin yet, Charlie Brown. How is he supposed to rise out of the pumpkin patch at midnight on Halloween and bring everyone presents if he's not on anyone's team?

Changed my latest bots alt mode. Since he's a bit soft in the meleon, he's a blue pumpkin. Lol

Well I just spent five minutes trying to make the Pumpkin NOT available to the Decepticons, and it STILL didn't work.

So that's how much fun I'm having.

Yearly event over here. Our crew heads over to Dublin, gets sh*tfaced and has the greatest weekend ever because the UK doesn't do Halloween, even though the Irish invented it.

Top.
****
Party.

Banging his head on the table, Burn finally gave up. Everything was set right but still the Smashing Pumpkin alt mode remained available to the Decepticons
"Stone the flamin' crows! This bloody technology!" he ranted "I've set the thingamibob on the whatsit but it's still being a drongo! So bugger it! The smashing pumpkin alt is now PROPERLY available to the Decepticons!"

But if only Burn knew that it wasn't a glitch, but the influence of Stingy Jack slowly spreading across the vast war fronts of HMW...an influencing that had already consumed Bun-Bun who took it upon himself to start a contest, not even bothering to check if anyone else had anything in mind

"HE'S ONLY DOING THAT BECAUSE HE'S OBSESSED WITH ANYBODY CALLED JACK!" Burn yelled.

Regardless ... the competition was on, the influence was spreading ... and while all attention was on Stingy Jack, no one saw the portal opening in the area once occupied by the Maximals ...

Hell, I may as well just make a news post about your little competition. It's not like any other news is going to be posted now that there's no longer a news admin hovering over them!

I have lots of random pop culture shit in my head, the majority of I don't understand or even know where it came from, and definitely don't know how it got there!

If one wishes to get pedantic, it's a 1983 movie that was originally a book published in the 60's that got its title from a line in Shakespeare's... 'The Scottish Play', if you will.

So should we be wary more of carnivals or ambitious Scotsmen with greedy wives this Halloween season is the question...

I think it depends on if there are any actors in our company to which is scarier. I never did understand as to why that play was the one to get that treatment.
