Inside the magazine itself, the following pages and information are revealed ...
- Brian's Bytes and Bolts reveals that the Subscription figures have been delayed from China. They are estimating that the figures will ship right after BotCon. I'm assuming this means that the figures are being shipped over with all of the BotCon exclusives to save on transport costs. Because of this delay, they are unsure when the 2nd installment payment will be due for those of you who went with the payment option.
- First look at Transformers Generations Deluxe Hoist (available 4th quarter). Hoist is a remold of Trailcutter. He features a new head and trades Trailcutters trailer topper/shield for a tow hook that appears to transform into Hoist's gun. No wings but I think we'll all be happy to have Hoist join our "Classics" ranks. I'm assuming this figure will be packaged with his Spotlight book in the upcoming deluxe/comic packaged series revealed at Toy Fair back in February.
- The next two page spread features updated decos for the BotCon 2013 Machine Wars set. As far as I can tell, the only difference is Obsidian has undergone a major color change. Whereas he was a bright green with orange (transparent?) rotors, he now sports a color scheme that seems much closer to his Beast Machines cartoon counterpart along with (transparent?) red rotors. This should make many fans happy that Strika and Obsidian will be utilizing colors from the cartoon instead of one being from the cartoon and the other being from the toy.
- Transformers Generations Magnificus from eHobby is revealed as a club exclusive! Pre-orders will be available at http://www.TransformersClub.com/shop from April 15th to May 8th. Price is currently listed at $90.
- The comic continues the Beast Wars Shattered Glass theme. It introduces G2 Hero Megatron alongside some of Takara's Beast Wars II characters like the Seacons, Dirge, Thrust, and the Autorollers. Scylla is still female.
- After the comic, we get a one page "The Transformers Menagerie - Part 2: The Dinobots"
- Profile pages for Beast Wars Grimlock (Maximal) and Beast Wars II Dirge (Predacon)
- The back cover features another installment of David Willis' Recordicons as well as two installments of Transformers I.Q.

Say whaaaaaa? Why G2 Hero Megatron? Unless the comic explains it, that makes no sense.Seibertron wrote:It introduces G2 Hero Megatron
If it's BWII characters, wouldn't Megastorm fit better than purple Hero Megs? That's just so weird of the Club to do that.Seibertron wrote:alongside some of Takara's Beast Wars II characters like the Seacons, Dirge, Thrust, and the Autorollers. Scylla is still female.

Generations Hoist will be general retail. BotCon 2013 Hoist (a retool of Gen. Sergeant Kup), naturally, is not.
And I'm sensing a BotCon repaint: BWII Dirge out of Skywarp.

I think this is the same delay as before. We're just now getting more details on it.Nemesis Primal wrote:... Delayed AGAIN? Anyone else think this is ridiculous?
But I'm not worried. No matter how long it's taken, I've never not received anything I've ever ordered from the Club.
Found this description of his new colors on another site:SW's SilverHammer wrote:YES! [close to] cartoon accurate colors Now don't screw this up funpub (but you will)

snip
As it is the metallic teal ends up darker, the bright green dark teal, the bright orange highlights end up orange, the clear orange ends up reddish orange, the eyes bright green instead of red, and the blue stripes are now orange.

I wonder if we can get a Gears or Huffer retool out of Orion Pax. And I still need a Skids retool out of Trailcutter.

The "Skids" we saw was merely Trailcutter's colors playing tricks with us. To Hasbro, Hoist is the Trailcutter retool.

Hey waddya know, an autobot car I actually kind of like. Looking forward to finding out more about this guy. Seems like the warning stripes are left to his gun only in robot mode, which is neat.

It's a shame I swore off the TFCC after the fiasco with everyone's credit card numbers.

Was Trailcutter given an official release date at all????
You would think there would be a preorder up for Trailcutter already somewhere??? I mean he will be released before Hoist right?

The first thing I remember was Universe Sunstreaker, oh what a comotion that stirred up.
Posted by Sabrblade on April 10th, 2013 @ 8:46pm CDT
The first being the obvious. Universe Leo Prime's toy bio reflected that of the IDW character, despite the toy being named "Leo Prime" and the comic character named "Lio Convoy". Sure, one could just simply brush this discrepancy aside by saying "Well, the U.S. name wasn't fully made clear for the character at the time, so the Japanese name was used for the comic." I'm aware of this. But that brings me to point number 2.
Making him the IDW character with the name "Leo Prime" would be an excellent American parallel to what was done for the Japanese TF: Prime AM-28 Leo Prime toy. With that toy, its bio made the "Leo Prime" toy into an upgraded form of the BWII Lio Convoy cartoon character, establishing him as a post-Beast Wars Neo Convoy Council elder having succeeded the deceased Great Convoy as "Great Lio Convoy". And with his new TF: Prime body came a new name for himself.
The Universe toy could serve as a similar body upgrade to the IDW version of the character, and would explain his new name as having simply come with his new form. Therefore, America's comic Lio Convoy would be upgrading into the body of a toy with a new name, just as Japan's cartoon Lio Convoy had done when he upgraded into the body of his new-named TF: Prime toy.

Sign up for FSS, recieve 6 figures, with the first one shipping end of Jan 2013.
January comes and goes, we get told it's Hasbro's fault and to expect the first figure in April/ May.
April comes, we're now told that the first figure won't ship until after Botcon, which means at least Mid July.
Mid July for the first figure? We we supposed to have all six figures by then!
Nah, seems totally reasonable to me
Wouldn't be surprised at this point if the Club started advertising 2014's FSS before we even get the first one for this year!
In other news: I wish Obsidian was staying Fluro Green and orange.

TFSS figs were going to ship one every two months, so by then we should've received three of them.
I really hope that they get their stuff in line.

Figure Subscription Service Terms And Conditions wrote:"FIGURE SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE INFORMATION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
When you subscribe to the Transformers Collectors’ Club Figure Subscription Service (FSS), you will receive 1 figure a month for six months. We will notify you when the first shipment is ready for shipping but it will be approximately 8-12 weeks after the close of the subscription period. This is an optional service and is not included with your Club Membership. You must be al Member in order to subscribe to the FSS."
Nope, 1 per month for 6 months.
I hope by the time they actually get the figures they will try and "catch up" - say, send them out in two shipments of 3 figures each. It would be nice.

Ahh, I was wrong. My bad. I would love it if they played catchup and sent out batches of figs instead of one at a time.
I certainly don't expect it, but it would be nice.

I take your word for it but it doesn't ring any bells. I wasn't far off then. I really wish they were able to do that kinda stuff much more often. The internet being so prevalent in every day life though, I can imagine it isn't easy. This issue looks like a pretty nice win. The Marvel nod, the new deco for Obsidian (looks better IMO, though I was fine with the previous choice) and the Hoist reveal. Now if we could only get them to ditch the useless garbage on the back cover. I'd rather get another page of comic, bios, or you know, anything entertaining. I consider myself a pretty big fan on nearly every facet of the fandom and none of that appeals to me in any way.
