Griffith76 ceased pre-orders because he negotiated a deal with a company that wanted to buy his design, molds, and figure to mass produce it themselves. So chances are that you'll be able to buy this figure sometime in the near future, albeit through a different company. Eric explains it much better in his blog (that Dead Metal was kind enough to link), if you care to read anymore about it.
And Blozor, the custom figure that Eric created with his own two hands, completely from scratch, isn't exactly what I'd call a 'knock off'.
