Sweet! But hopefully they give us an "86 movie" pack with Rodimus, Kup, Springer, Arcee and Blurr since we have the Dinobots, Ultra Magnus and Perceptor.

I wouldn't bet on it.

Well, they could at least give us Hot Shot, Cyclonus, and maybe Kup.

Anyone up for petitioning HMS for a DLC on these guys?

Can't say I like Hound. He's far too generic and his helmet looks like an old leather football helmet.

I would, Cyclonus looks awesome as does Hot Rod. Kup, I'm not sure about. People online are already confusing Hound and his head with Kup, but if they did Kup right....maybe with his Cy-gar?

The Game may have called him Hot Shot, but I was around when this Character Model originally appeared, and it's is, and always will be Hot Rod.

Different character model and different character. New guy based on the design of a different old guy.

Like how Energon Downshift looked like G1 Wheeljack, but wasn't Wheeljack.

And this is Hot Shot.

They are not the same guy.

How many times must it be stated that these games may be heavily influenced by G1 but are NOT G1?

The Insecticons are available.... Individually. 80 Microsoft points per part. No sign of G2 Bruticus or Hound, or even a link to download them all in one go on the XBox LIVE Marketplace... What the hell HMS?

I'm not buying unless you can do like we did the Havoc and Dinobot Destructor packs.

I wouldn't mind seeing cyclonus in a DLC,but hot rod can be made with a little creativity. His head is just the hardest to try and replicate.

Admittedly HMS's Hot Whatever does share a lot of features with Cybertron/Galaxy Force Hot Shot, but wasn't the only reason the name Hot Rod was dropped in the first place was because some other company or brand got it liscenced to them? It's like Slag and the Insecticons. Regardless of the name or the reason it was changed, in open conversation folk are going to call them by the names that they probably would still be called if it wasn't for the bureaucracy. You can't insist that everyone adheres to the official line unless it's in an official capacity.

I will concede that Hot Shot has become a character in his own right thanks to the Unicron trilogy, but to me that artwork from HMS is Hot Rod and always will be. Please do not take offence to that, oh so wise one.

I agree this does look very similar to what G1ers think as Hot Rod and usually refer to him as such. The biggest confusion for me with the Hot Rod/Hot Shot/Roddimus issue is because of the Unicron Trilogy though. Hot Shot was a part of all 3, but then in Cybertron they introduced Roddimus and that threw my understanding completely out the window haha.

Well, how come no one made a fuss about Energon Downshift and Shockblast, who were obvious homages to Wheeljack and Shockwave?

For me they were just simple name changes, but still the "same" character. And I was ok with Hot Shot being Hot Rod until Roddimus showed up. Is Hot Shot = Hot Rod, and if so, who is Roddimus?

not every kid appeal character is Hot Rod/Rodimus. What about Side Burn? His super mode was a red sports car with flames, but he wasn't Hot Rod either. Likewise Hot Shot is Hot Shot.

In this continuity, the guy is an homage to Hot Rod, named Hot Shot, and will grow up to become Rodimus.

BTW, it was Energon that had a Rodimus. Cybertron had the non-show character Excellion.

Ok thanks, makes much more sense that way. So many people try to lump them as the same character that it becomes a real nightmare to keep what story is true and what's rumor.

I knew Rodimus was in part of the series, I totally spaced Excellion (a repaint of Hot Shot too, wasn't he?)

Why all the argument? Hot Shot this... Hot Rod that... you're both obviously wrong. It's clearly "ROAD-imus" Prime from the Headmasters dub. ;) #-o
