A user from ACToys managed to apply his Photo Shop skills and gave us a feel how does the mini MP Prime will looks like when fully painted. He managed to make the prototype into classic Optimus Prime colour scheme, MP02 Ultra Magnus, upcoming MP1B Black Convoy as well as colour scheme for Shattered Glass Optimus Prime.

I guess it's nice to see all the color schemes they're planning, but ... let's see a fully painted versions, eh?
Does anyone know how much that regular KO of MP Prime goes for? The one with the chrome on the faceplate? Just wondering how this will compare with a similar product in terms of price.
This is something I just might get, but it's a very low priority. I can't imagine it costing less than $100. And for that price I could get the real MP Prime ... again ...

Well, you just did anyway. Lets see your version.
Im shocked to see that they would look pretty much the same as the Masterpiece version.....odd that.

lol, agreed that it's not too good a job. I can probably do a better job, but I've got better things to do with my time. The colors are too saturated.

I want the red, white, and black and screw the shattered glass, I'm down for a diaclone version!!
then lets see what they do with the Megatron... Oh yeah.. classic silver, and a black variant?? whooooooooooo...
hmmmmm, if they do release these in these colors, I wonder something..
are there going to be two prime variants? One in red metallics like the MP-01 and one in cartoony colors to match the cartoony head?? like they did with Mega SCF?

Hell, I may opt for the black version over the Takara version with I barely have room for. As it is now, I don't have room for my 20th Anniversary MP Prime.

Now, if I can just get some voyager scaled Classics seekers.

now that is saying something about this trend..
yeah voyager class 3rd party seekers in all their glory and old school accurate coloring would be soooo awesome!! especially if they do some others like a Mini Voyager Masterpiece version of sunstorm!

The prototype looks darn good, especially with the alternate head sculpt(is it included?). But it's nearly $100. I pre-ordered MP-01B for $104 and bought a MISB MP Starscream for $70. If I only had an MP OP/Convoy right now to help me judge whether or not I would want a scaled down version of the figure.

All the photo shopped images we saw a couple days ago are those the ones we'll be getting from iGear or are those just ones that they sent out to see fans reactions toured them? If so I guess Optimus Prime and Nemesis Prime are the one's I'll get since they are priced so high.

Wow MP-01B for $104 that's a lot less than BBTS! may I ask where you pre-ordered from?
On topic, at $95, this is one KO that I won't be owning....

I ordered from Robot Kingdom. The site states that the $104 price is good until August 20th, which we're past, but the site still shows the price on the MP-01B. The normal price on the site is $119.99, I believe.
I think I'll pass on this figure, regrettably. It's just that it's a high price for a scaled down KO and as much as I love the idea of a Voyager-ish sized MP figure with the detail shown on the prototype, I'll be getting the full sized real deal in the future for just a little more.

Ah ok, with international shipping it works out to be pretty much the same...

Yeah, I think it depends on your location. I'm in Canada so even with $34 shipping for the figure, I still get this cheaper at RK than at other vendors. RK has fairly high shipping on individual item orders but I've compared order totals where I've chosen more than one item at a few different on-line stores and RK usually gives me the cheapest total cost.

I'm going to make my final decision on these when I see someone's video review and a couple galleries.

DevastaTTor wrote:To me, it's going to come down to the level of quality of the figures (assuming there will be repaints). 95 dollars is expensive when compared to MP figures (although he is 2/3rds of a MP Prime size wise and costs 2/3rds the amount of the MP01-B shipped in the US) but seems relatively reasonable when compared to recent Henkei exclusives like Dirge/Thrusts or the pricey Henkei Strafe. At 15 dollars less than Strafe, if he's well painted and well molded, that's not too bad-it's really just a matter of perspective. After all, they're all rolling off the line at a factory in China.

Yeah, the Gentei exclusives are pretty crazy in price as well as the exlusives like the crystal figures.
I'd like to ask those who have a MP Optimus, do you think you'd consider the mini MP OP at $95 if the production figures live up to the prototype and are well painted?

If quality hold up, I will pick this up. Takara MP-1 (and MP-5 Megatron) is just too out of scale compared to Grimlock and the seekers. I'll still 'love' my MP versions, but I think this smaller version will mesh nicely.

Comparing this mini MP Prime KO to the Henkei exclusives is not right. For anyone outside of Japan, they had to go through a secondary party to get them, which the cost was not retail. If you were in Japan, then those exclusives would of been a lot more cheaper compared to the $95 for this mini MP Prime, as you could by straight from retail. If I remember correctly, the Henkei exclusive seekers were around 3,000yen, so under $40US easily.

No word has been said if this mini MP Prime will have diecast. So that is another factor to consider about the price. Its also been pointed out that Hasbro's version of MP Primes were cheaper.
