Nope, that's just you; the heads on the transforming figures are all smaller than they should be, because they transform (they have to fit in somewhere)! You're just used to the smaller heads! (Pin-heads as my Nan calls them and she's right; now I look at them and think 'wow, Sideswipe/Bumblebee/Megatron etc *does* have a small head!')
Yeah, maybe this head may be ever-so-slightly bigger than it needs to be, but it's a better size than the transforming figures.

Actually the size of the head is way to big even for a statue. I have over 20 pics of optimus prime ranging from the very 1st original concept art to real pics taken from the movies. And the ROTF leader OP's head is actually a lot more movie acurate than the statue. In looks and in size. And the statue lacks a lot of the final detailing. The statue is actually a cross between 3 different concept versions of Optimus Prime. With only about 3 things accurate to the final version.
Personally I think the statue looks awful and it's absolutely insane to charge $400.00 for it. Even half that is way to much. The leader class OP from ROTF is much more movie accurate and I bought 2 of them for about $35.00 each. Did some custom re-painting and now they look awesome!
