I think — if anything — these photos are highlighting that the paint apps are pretty poorly applied... and the tabs don't quite fit together. (?) I'm a bit bummed about it, but seems par for the course these days.
Still, I DO like the figure. For anyone with a Beast Wars or RID collection, seems like a must.

My 1st thought. Therefore, I will stick to the original. Nice try, though.

To the original cartoon, yes. This Sky-Byte however seems more based on his G1 IDW comic appearance. I wonder which direction his bio will take

Hasbro has finally listened to fans when they asked that a Classics Sky-Byte has to have a haiku in his bio.

Plus, it's always nice to see signs that someone remembers and cares about all the quirky little detours in the history of Transformers.
...And since nobody else has done it yet, I feel we need a haiku!
He returns to us.
Long lost, but we remember.
Welcome home, Sky-Byte.
Now if only they'd get the rights back from Disney and release RiD on DVD.

While it's not the BEST series... it still was a beautiful return to traditional animation... and vehicles. The toy line had some shockingly good toys (The Car Brothers, Fort Max, Build King, a ten changer)... and it still trumps Energon and Cybertron in most every way.
I hope Shout Factory gets access to it and releases it. I'd buy it again just for the ease of being able to play it in a standard DVD player.
Oh, but I digress
We should talk about the shark
And write more haikus

I think you might be misjudging the situation. Sky-Byte as a character seems to be remembered pretty fondly, and unless they changed the case assortment, there's only one of him to every two Roadbusters (with a Springer filling the last slot), so he may go faster than you think.

You're right but I really have no connection to it and the next two months are going to be BIG in terms of stuff coming.

Fair enough, and you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just pointing out that plenty of people feel differently. Plus after your first post I thought you were kinda interested in Sky-Byte but putting it off, rather than just not interested. So, um, just pretend this conversation never happened?

Nah it's cool, I'm interested in the "Oh, a new Transformer" vein rather than the "This was my favorite character growing up!" vein. I also was reading a lot of disappointed posts on Twitter. Eh, if I get it, I get it. If not, no loss

Looking forward to both of these sooo much! Sucks having to import almost all the Generations stuff to the UK.

The biggest surprise I had was with Roadbuster as he had an alternate sticker to replace his Autobot symbol with the Botcon Wreckers blue symbol
I can see a few people buying two if these for just that purpose, one for the Neo-G1 collection and one for the Wreckers
Posted by Neurie on July 6th, 2014 @ 2:34pm CDT
Sadly Cybershark, TM Cybershark, Sharkticon Megatron and Gnaw were in the other room or would have had put together a proper TF proper Sharknado moment. Actually that is what I will be entering as my art for Botcon for next year, made of awesome.

Sky-Byte is happy
His own mold, not a repaint
Being well-loved rules

Guess Hasbro thinks that it makes him more like a shark despite the fact that he is a shark that converts into a robot.
And back again!

Indeed. I was kinda hoping for this pose myself.

Yeah the RID form was...a mess. Just a bad mold in general. Its his character from the show that I loved so much. So very...unPredacon like.
Plus, he does Haiku. Thats just awesome.
