Crap. There is absoloutely no way I can chuck a sickie that day because it's end of financial year for me. GAH!

I guess that means to "call in to work" in Aussie-speak. I love the internet; I learn all kinds of neat things!

Epic win! How did you get the 'S' and 'I'? Minimise and splice from the main title letters?
I used a Transformers font I downloaded aages ago (just did a quick search, you can get it here), so I used the font, and retyped the whole thing, no hackery of the existing text required, experience has told me that it never usually works out that well!
The only problem with this is that the font inst as wide as the font they used in the original image so I scaled the width of it, a bit brutal, but it got the job done. Added a bevel effect and a gradient overlay, and it looks passable as the original. If you PM me, I can send you the original PSD if you're curious!
EDIT:- I used Photoshop CS4 btw...

If by "call in to work" you mean have a quick visit to work on a day off then no.
(Because that's how I interpret "call in to work")
But yeah, chuck a sickie is to have a day off when you're perfectly healthy. To make it worse, I can't even go see it that night because I won't finish until well after 8pm, the nearest theatre is an hour away, and I really have to be there the next day!

The 30th of June 2011 is a Thursday in Australia, so I guess that's why we are getting it a day earlier over here.

Movies usually open on a Thursday here? Or Wednesday midnight? That's right isn't Burn?
China and Japan get ripped off tho! Do they figure it will be bootlegged in those countries long before that date anyway? Curious...

Ah nice process...And thanks! I'd probably be chopping away at the ROTF & DOTM subtitles on Paint for hours! But well done there, your splice is saved and approved!

Always a Thursday. SOME movies, depending on their popularity, will get a Wednesday midnight release, though most of them are taking on a more "pay more to see first!" attitude.

But that's just because I worked in a planetarium and my husband has a bachelors in Astronomy. And I cannot wait to see this movie.

Seibertron wrote:And now the "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" website, TransformersMovie.com has been updated as well to reflect the title change, as noticed by fellow Seibertronians gigazarak and SlyTF1. Hopefully a teaser trailer won't be far behind! Christmas? Superbowl? When do you think the first trailer will debut?
Transformers 102: For those of you who don't know what "Dark of the Moon" means, it is an Astronomy term. According to Answers.com ...Answers.com wrote:The time period of approximately a week at the time of a new moon, when the light of the moon is absent at night. Any period in which the light of the moon is obscured.
Im gonna have to say the Super Bowl. 1- Its the most watched tv event in the US all year and there isnt a better time to do so. And 2- Thats when ROTFs trailer came out last year and they even built up the suspense leading up to the debut of the trailer with reminders that it was soon to premiere. I was almost as excited about that as I was about the game!

I'm Australian, and I didn't know this! Good one!
I live in Melbourne, so while being jealous of you, I would'nt have made it all the way to Sydney for the premiere, I don't think my fandom extends that far, but if they came to Melbourne...
