Silhouette images of both Dirge and Thrust are now listed on Gambo Store.com.
Toy Hobby Market also has the silhouette of Dirge on its page. It is unknown, but likely, if these two releases are store exclusives like Thundercracker and Skywarp.
Pre-orders for both begin November 13th and will begin shipping in March of 2009.
We will update when more information becomes available.

I think with this one it’s not so bad, and a considerable re-purchase for those whom own the Botcon set.

C'mon Hasbro!
I don't know if I'll purchase the Henkei versions of these two or not seeing the problems with TC. I get skeptical when it comes to buying foreign items I can't return.

That's the thing I don't like taking chances, I am a very cautious person and rarely risk financial ventures. Which is why I don't own the botcon seekers now. But I am a patient person so I can wait.

Assuming the molds haven't crumbled to powder by then.

Source or it didn't happen

Speaking on destroying the mold you have to figure they'll give Acid Storm his two cartoon wingmates. Maybe once they break this mold they can combine it with the broken bits of their other molds and make Classics Autobot Spike.

Hasbro: Thank you for understanding what the big issue is with the exclusive sets - we need to ensure that we don't de-value those sets. I think that it is possible for Hasbro to release new versions of those characters as long as there are enough differences from the original Classics versions. However, we have been trying to get a wide variety of the Seekers out before going back to do 2nd versions. So we don't have any immediate plans for those 3 characters, but they are not totally "off limits". And to your Sunstorm question - Acid Storm was originally going to be Sunstorm, but we changed our mind. So now you know Sunstorm is on the short list of Seekers!

Cool, thanks - Seems to me, The Rainmakers have a better chance of seeing the light of day than SW & TC or The Coneheads.
...in the West, that is.

Sunstorm and Hailstorm are possibilities for filler, but ALL of them would rock. I have no problem in buying mulitple seekers of the same mold. Just like my old Power Ranger days all over again. Gotta have every color

Me too, he's the whole reason I collect transformers now. I have the Classics, will probably get the Henkei while BBTS has him on sale and will almost certainly get the 2.0 version. I still have several more of him to get too, Robot Masters, MP, Cybertron supreme, etc, etc, etc.

I lost count. I got close to 80 give or take of him. Love that old loony.

He also helped start my Cobra Commander craze, or would have if not for the CC's being elusive and pricey whenever I look. My brother has more success with them.
Funny he could be his own collection.

Heres hoping BBTS is as nice about preorders with these, as they were with Cracker and Warp...and that I can find Dreadwind for a price that doesn't include my first born child
I've gotta say I'm rooting for Sunstorm myself as well...though I'd like a New mold for him eventually...having the seekers as Always mold clones is something of a bad habit I'd like to see Hasbro shake off.
...and I'll completely defeat the purpose of my previous statement by saying I want a pine green skyraider for troop building
Posted by Bonger on October 30th, 2008 @ 12:08am CDT
lol, acutally, I could care less this time,. The figs are different enough, they are pricey and limited in number as well.
Not to mention, I've been less than thrilled with Takara's take on the Henkei line. Too much chrome and too little QC for my tastes, especially considering the mass produced Henkai cost 3 times what the Universe line costs here and can't be exchanged as easily for a nicer unit.
Still, I think this is good for the hobby. More people get a chance to complete their seekers. Good for them.

So what are the official names of the "rainmakers?" If Sunstorm was one, and now Acid Storm is one, who was the third, Jetstorm?? Seems to me like that would be a very appropriate name...

100+ bucks for crap, and if they're using old base molds, don't expect quality to be any better.

Actually my Henkei Skywarp has tighter joints then any of my classics Seekers. The only parts on my Henkei Thundercracker that are loose are the null rays and only in his shoulders. It's an easy fix if I weren't lazy. I'll probably get all three Henkei Coneheads now. (I passed on Ramjet but I'll pick him up with his wingmates) Besides spending $100-$150 on 2 figures versus paying $400-$600 for the Botcon versions is more doable to more people given the current economy.

I'm honestly surprised, I didn't think Thrust and Dirge would be popular enough to get themselves a Henkei release.
Just goes to show you never can tell what will happen.
Sounds like you got really unlucky with yours First Gen. =(
Both my Henkei Skywarps were free of joint issues, and super tight. If I were the brains behind all this the first thing I'd do is get whatever was causing the Thundercracker launcher issue fixed, it seems like a logical step to me.
That is if it would even be an issue for whatever version of the mold they'd be using?
Also, Thundercracker is back up for sale on November 6th? I am tempted now to get them all... again. But then I may as well have not sold the Botcon set. Hrm.

Lapse Of Reason wrote:The original price Botcon set was still a better deal (assuming Thrust and Dirge will be exclusives like Thundercracker and Skywarp). $60 x 4 = $240 while the Botcon set was about $250 and Target Skywarp would have added $20. You also got two other figures (including Dreadwind!), a nice box, and the whole Botcon experience.
And if you got the bagged set, you got to sell that and walk away with free figures.

if you look at it as botcon plus target ex. you have 3 extra figs-bugbite, dreadwind, ultra magnus.
