I wasn't gonna watch it cos like many Studio folk i already got Grimlock a while ago but I watched anyways and it was fine for a brief 1 minute video. That VSP one seems like a funky G2 toy but obviously with massive amounts of detail and articulation.

I did ask if the torso all tabbed in nice and secure (since I have had issues with all previous voyager Ironhide figures) and he says it does so that's cool. It's really just that darn bumper letting it down but overall I'm very keen to add that figure to my Studio collection.

Taking me a lil time off internet for a few days cos I ain't coping so well with some things. Ironhide's what kept me checking internet stuffs today but I now seen the review and got the info I was after it's time for a break. Have a great weekend, peoples.

Before i go here's a lovely quality photo of the figrue with the chest transformed properly (something that looked off in the photos from the past few days). Looks way better.

Showing up in his Voyager class size and arm cannons, Ironhide's review is embedded below from the post made on our Energon Pub Toy Reviews section here, and includes a look in both robot and GMC topkick truck mode, plus comparisons with the likes of Bumblebee, Jazz, Optimus Prime and Ratchet. Check it out, and let us know what you think about this latest addition to the line!

He looks good, and im glad they compared him to DotM Ironhide at least so I can gauge the size (smaller, which means WAY smaller than the movie 1 voyager I already have and will probably scale terribly with RotF leaders and BB Bumblebee

Studio Series Ironhide is meant to scale with the other Studio Series toys in robot mode, so it's only natural he'd be dwarfed by the ROTF Leaders.
For those feeling like SS Optimus is a smidge too small, there are a couple options. Battle Blades Optimus - he's fiddly and complex to transform, but being barely a head taller than SS Optimus he would still size decently with the others in the line. DOTM Mechtech Voyager Optimus is the other. He's between SS Optimus and BB Optimus in size, and would seem to be less fiddly (don't own him myself. I don't own BB Optimus either but I do own his big cousin, so I have a pretty good idea what he's like), though he does have somewhat stylized robot mode proportions, the DOTM chest, and those giant tanks.

Like you said, the DotM leader is just too tall in robot mode, and while I like my movie 1 voyager I was hoping this would be so definitive that I would just HAVE to pick it up. This looks good, but if it doesn't scale with RotF leader Prime, I just don't need it, unfortunately.
Still have hope for the line (picked up several already since they were massive improvements over other toys or new characters), just a minor letdown for me.

That's my feeling too. BB Optimus Prime (Movie Advanced "Revenge" version) is my Prime for my new Studio Series collection. The actual Studio Series Optimus Prime is just too small and has too many flaws for me in terms of sculpt, detailing, and even color choices.

My only gripe is that ridiculous bumper. It definitely need hinges to cut off the "smile". I'll either mod it myself or some Shapeway dude will do it.

Well, I don't know much of anything about you.
But that statement confirmed that you sure as heck aren't someone who sells G1 accessories on eBay

That jab aside, I do think paying $20 for a gun is quite alright... if it's a really big one or a fancy/3P upgrade. Like one of the Cubex buster guns (normally sold as a set that costs $40, so..) for ROTF Leader Prime, or a discount on the replacement for ROTF Leader Megatron's aformentioned mess of a right arm.
I may be rambling to distract myself from things..

Has anyone done a step-by-step transformation photoshoot of Studio Series Megs yet? I looked through the whole of this thread and don't think I saw one here.

I'm returning them

Jazz is awesome in both modes. Posable, detailed, fun but not complicated to transform, and excites me for what they could achieve with an MPM.
Lockdown, almost gets the same praise. His design is of one of those kibble'less Movieformers, so his added bulk and kibble makes him feel a little inaccurate. However, he's miles ahead of the AOE mold, and has some incredible sculpted details in bot mode. He looks fantastic. Transformation is a bit of a pain though. Fitting his hood to his shoulders isn't easy.
So why am I returning both? Jazz, for the life of me, I cannot get one side of the car mode to panel together flush. It's incredibly frustrating and I want one that actually fits together. Lockdown does the same sort of thing (not quite as bad) but then, broke while I was working on these pics! The bullet thingies on his shoulders, one of them snapped off while transforming him. To be fair, after examining it I could quite simply glue it back into place without hurting anything on the figure, but since his car mode doesn't fit together I'm also going for a new one like with Jazz.
It's really unfortunate. These are both amazing figures, but I got two lemons. I am absolutely getting a new pair and hoping for better results. These two are the most impressive to date, and Jazz might be my favorite SS so far! Still recommended!

He's even tougher than the leader simply because all that level of complexity is brought down to a voyager scale. Its freaken mental. Also, now that i finally own BB Prime I was surprised to find out that it is a completely different mold than the leader. Sure there are a few similarities but it was different enough to feel like a totally different toy, even moreso than the MPM we got last year.

Also, Shajaki... Considering that you broke Lockdown after removing him from the box, you might have a hard time returning him.

Not in canada. customer satisfction is a big deal here. And how are they to know when lockdown broke, could have been broken like that from the get go. Plus worst case scenario, he can write to hasbro and they send him a new one and regardless of waht it is, Shajaki can bring that new toy to toysrus and get his money back for lockdown.
