He also added in a follow-up post that the MP Rodimus listing was tagged a "global exclusive" which would indicate that it will be aToys R' Us exclusive in non-Takara markets.
Since most of the other listings have already been confirmed for release such as the Cyberverse and Mechtech figures, hopefully this information is true. However, because this news isn't coming directly from Hasbro or other sources from Toys R' Us, we're treating this as a rumor for now.

But... Scanning Ironhide and Sideswipe? If it's anything like those trans scanning figures Takara released, then crap.

I suspect you're going to find that much like Starscream and Grimlock, most if not all of the Takara Tomy version of Rodimus will be plastic. In the end, it will probably come down to some paint choices and whether you want the trailer or not.

I don't think (or hope) the scanning figures will be like Takara's 2007 ones - the time of their release is waay apart, and these will be Hasbro produced figures (possibly hindering their quality...)

Plastic or not, I'm confident the paint on the Takara Tomy version will be superior. The trailer is a big deal for me. The ability to "become" Rodimus Prime is the feature that made me pre order this figure. I want one. But if a TRU exclusive version is priced right, I would have a Hot Rod car to put infront of Rodimus with his trailer behind them both. It would be SO epic!!

There are none listed here, but there are definitely Leader Class figures for the DotM toyline. I'm not sure if we're allowed to talk specifics at the moment, as to respect Hasbro's wishes, but there are definitely some out there.

Legends are really getting interesting lately. Last movie we got a "complete" Devastator and now we're getting playsets and the Ark!
Fingers crossed the Ark transforms.
TF3 Scanning Ironhide & Sideswipe
A Leader, new Voyager, and now this "Scanning" thing? Could Ironhide be getting a larger role?

There was an article in the TFCC magazine that confirmed Rodimus will be an exclusive store U.S. release sans trailer but with a new accessory piece.

To my knowledge someone stated that Hasbro is still deciding on which leaders to release and when. They have not decided who will be released in the first wave yet.

Could be. Some of this stuff is too easy for some fanboy to think of to make us go nuts. That last list we got was a big downer, but one toy in there added up with something a user let out of the bag. And now the leader Alpha Trion is plausible if he is the bot in the movie teaser.
But MP Rod and Go Bots for me is just too easy to come up with.

The new "MechTech" works similarly to Power Core Combiners, except the robots don't combine/transform/interact with each other/come with Mini-Cons, their weapons all do the following except the Mini-Con part. I explained about it in the thread about the very first images of DOTM Ironhide, I think. Or maybe it was with that definitely-not-Megatron-Tanker Truck thread we were talking about sometime in early December.

That would be super sweet! Has there been any reason for a MP sized targetmaster? I can't think of one.

Not at all. Actually it would seem to validate it. Someone already made a good point about creating a TRU version for the more "casual consumer". Makes since to me.

You also have to remember that Hasbro are not able to use the name Hot Rod anymore. The character has gone by many names including Hot Rodimus, Rodimus Minor, Rodimus Major or simply Rodimus. The TFCC mag did confirm that MP Hot Rod (that name will never be used btw) will be released, sans trailer, but with extra accessories. If the listing said MP Rodimus Prime, I would be excited but right now, I'm not.

we know that "Mechtech" is the combining weapons gimmick, but do we know what "Cyberverse" means? are those the ones that look like they have USB plugs?
also, I hope the Battle Mask is a Prime re-release, I missed him the first time and having been kicking myself since (especially seeing all the BB masks piled up everywhere)

2.) It will be named Rodimus because they cannot use the name Hot Rod anymore.
3.) The US version will not have it's trailer, it will come with extra accessories made for the US market. (Rumored to be Firebolt.)
4.) It's supposed to have a more anime color scheme (Magenta, instead of red and orange)
5.) The price has not been confirmed, nor has a retailer, but it's speculated that it will be TRU carrying it.
I hope this helps anyone who's still confused or lost.

The "WE" is referring to Americans (AKA Hasbro) No disrespect to any other countries but it is usually America who discovers small enterprises like Transformers, Pokemon, Yugi-oh, Hello Kitty, etc, and invests millions to turn them into a worldwide phenomenon. This is why I cringe on "Japan only" products. Bring the good stuff overseas to the people who made you what you are today. Spread the love. Thats all Im saying.

Going by recent package mock-ups, "Cyberverse" is the Legends Class, though it's been expanded upon. In addition to the small, simple figures, some come with accessories (for example, Optimus has a jetpack) or transforming bases (a la G1 Optimus's trailer).

yeah, it was the US who supported a weekly Transformers comic and had the line run continuously from it's initial release through to the present day...oh...wait...no it wasn't.

Ha! Has anyone here ever been to Japan? Optimus Prime is like their Superman. He (and this toy franchise) is WAY more popular over there. I'm fine with the way things are now really. If there is a certain figure you REALLY want, like one of your favorite character, then it is nice having a sort of topshelf, premium version thats worth the extra money. If you just kinda like it, opt for the local Hasbro version and save some bucks.

Actually Transformers cant be lumped together with Pokemon, Yugi-oh, Hello Kitty, etc,
As far as I know, those other
properties already had a "fiction" about and around them long before the US got interested.
Transformers, as a brand, is a US creation.

From what I can remember, Cyberverse is like a redux of Micromasters, except their more articulated and are modernized. I remember us getting a post with some pictures of several of them, and a tag about them having bases, but you're gonna have to find that particular post yourself.

If it comes out through TRU, it will most likely be $80 just like their other Masterpiece releases, which is a far more reasonable price.

Why do you guys think Transformers don't cater as much to the kids in Japan anymore? That's right: the transforming robot market there is Bandai's domain now. You really can't compare the Japanese and US markets anyway, plus Transformers was a US invention using Japanese toys, like Voltron (GoLion and DaiRugger XV) and Robotech (Macross)

I'm going to buy a Masterpiece US Hot Rod in addition to the Japanese one. That's a good way to display both figures.
