MP Starscream US Edition’s release date has been postponed to mid February in Japan. Several Japanese online retailers have announced the set back, but it is unclear what is causing the delay. As previously reported – the Japanese version will come in the U.S. packaging but the figure will have different markings compared with the U.S. version. It is rumored that the Japanese version will not have weathered markings.

I was looking at some of the Japanese toy sellers and they said that the Takara release of MP SS USA has been postponed till next year (Feb. 2008).... that sucks. My Japanese isnt that great, but Ive checked multiple websites and it says the same thing. I guess WM is your only shot if you want one this year. I hope this isnt old news.
Can you post some of those links? I take a look and translate.

Hopefully Im wrong... but these guys usually get them release day.
Yup, three out of the four links indicate that SS has been postponed until the beginning of February for release in Japan. Two sites indicate that the release date shall be February 10th.
e-Hobby is still indicating that they will get their shipments in January. Perhaps they will get their shipments early or perhaps they are just behind in updating their website.
So I guess this is news ... havent seen any US TF site mention it... some guys have been asking about buying the Takara version too.
You are correct. Front paged and credited.

On another note, I wrote in the sightings forum about where I found one, but just in case people from Austin, TX aren't checking there...They had about 12 more at the Wal-Mart on East Ben White and IH 35.
Happy hunting, guys!
What's the paint job like?
The colors seem a little off in the pictures. The red appears a cherry red. And the grey appears very whitish.

I went to all the Wal-Marts in my area....
Gloucester, VA: None
Newport News: None
Yorktown: None
Williamsburg/Lightfoot: None..
Talked to a Toys Dept. Manager, they said that the Starscream Masterpiece was going to be going on sale soon, but that Black Friday seemed likely to be the target released date..however, he also said that they get in shipments every week, and if not otherwise stated by home office, then they will more then likely place them out on the floor as soon as they come in.. so the Black Friday store is Williamsburg Wal-Mart.. the others are wild cards..
that's my update..

Nope... no reports in ohio yet as far as I know. I've been keeping a watch on all of them around columbus...
Likewise... the last time I checked my 2 Walmarts here in C-bus was on Wednesday night.
Nada
I also checked in 4 Wal-Marts around Columbus, as well as Marysville and London. Nothing. Where around Col's are you? I'm on the NW side of the city, in Plain City--it would be nice to be able to canvas the entire area. I know MentalDragon is in Westerville...

I just did a search on ebay and it looks like it is being spotted in more areas now.
I just called all my walmarts and nothing... but I have a feeling it is going to be before black friday (fingers crossed).

I'm in Hilliard... my normal two Walmarts are Rome Hilliard and Tuttle Crossing. There's a new one over on Sawmill that I sometimes go to... haven't been in there in awhile though.

So I feel for ya Japan, but you know if you did this right the first time, we wouldn't be having this issue!

For those of you who don't think you'll be able to get one, the ebay auctions in the next couple of hours are reasonable.
Still, feels lame getting burned by a scalper.

I feel the same thing. also wasted some money on gas and got nothing yet. I'd rather keep my eyes on scalper-bay to get one around $70 is still worthwhile.

WTF??!! Are you serious, you just bought one admitting that it was cheaper than driving to get it and you still have the balls to call him a "scalper" You didn't get burned my friend, you agreed to a price and paid it. If you didn't want to pay it, then don't buy it.

I guess I offended you, because I seem to remember you mentioning selling 3 of them on ebay for over $95 earlier in this thread...
Of course I agreed to pay the price, because I don't want to drive all over the place to find something that may be gone by the time I get it. It still doesn't change the fact that I bought it from someone who just wanted to flip it.
I really just wanted to give people who care a heads up that they were closing lower than usual. A good sign for those of us who are too far to hunt.

60 plus shipping does not sound bad to me. Koolyoyz wants 100 plus shipping and that's like 129 cdn total after taxes. I consider what you got excellent. I paid 60 for mine including shipping.

That's right, not everyone has walmart in your city within a reasonable distance. If the price on ebay could compensate for the time and gas to get the figure, why not? even though we're still buying at a scalper price IMO.

No offense was taken. But it just pisses me off no-end the way some folks around here throw around the word "scalper" 90% of my movie collection was paid for by profits from the 2010 Bumblebee sales. I call it free enterprise not scalping. Ask yourself this, if this was the situation with hot wheels, or barbies would you consider it "scalping"???
Or is it only considered that on this message board because it pertains to a toy that we all collect here.
You seem pretty level headed and I do appreciate that

Yeah, I get the term "scalper" being harsh on here.. I just really wanted to find it myself, but like a lot of people I'm impatient. Water under the bridge..
I'm not making much cash at work right now myself, so I completely understand one's motivation for selling things on ebay. Glad there's no hard feelings or anything, I've been a lurker on here for a while and wanted to be a part of the conversation without getting heated.

Most people that get mad at you are just jealous that you have something they want and they can't get, and hate and jealousy are worse than putting something up for sale that is not a life sustaining thing for sale on the open market, besides, you are not making anyone buy it. Just MO

I think most people who get mad at scalpers do so because scalpers take advantage of a free market economy to make money for themselves while adding no value to that economy and making goods more expensive for end consumers to obtain. Far fewer people would be willing to bid over outlandish scalper prices if they were not concerned about scalpers buying up every toy at the store.
Scalping concert tickets and the like is illegal. Those laws are extremely difficult to enforce, as would be laws against scalping toys or other things. Many activities have always existed inside the law which their practitioners can smile and call "free enterprise." These people aren't criminals, merely parasites.
On TFW, a thread exists of fans helping fans get this toy at cost + shipping. Here, we have a confessed "entrepreneur" chastising members for criticizing his parasitism. If his behavior is considered acceptable, it becomes against all our interests to post accurate information on finding Starscream in our respective locations, since people like him rather than our common fanbase will be the beneficiaries.
