The toys are probably about equal, it's just the character distribution is less. Think about how man different versions of Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Ironhide, and Ratchet there are (not to mention lesser characters like Mudflap) versus how many versiosn of Megatron or even Starscream there are.

It's most DEFINITELY not a Strafe. Nor is Cyclonus but i will prolly get him and combine him with Sunspot just for shits and giggles. They'll make quite the pair those two for sure. I am a fan of wild color schemes.
TO think Mindwipe was on sale for 20 bucks at WalMart and i passed..... i'm sorta kicking myself in the ass for that one since i went and bought Skystalker.

That's a good point. Bumblebee seems to have a toy at almost every price point, and several revisions in the deluxe size. Optimus Prime isn't far behind either. At least the Autobot ranks will get a boost in character roster with the Reveal the Shield promotion. All of the decidedly movie franchise figures announced so far under RtS seem to be Autobots.

Darth Rodimus wrote:Not diggin this one at all. I wonder why they passed on a different head for this guy. They could have given him more an autobot feel with a new head and not Mindwipe's.
My guess for the lack of an alternate head for Strafe woudl be that the Mindwipe molds were already built before this new "policy" for repaints came into effect. As I understand it, every repaint with a different head sculpt to the original version has that sculpt already implemented in the mold before the first version of that figure is even produced.

I kinda wanna buy it for Sunspot, but it looks too off the wall for my classics shelf. Like I said earlier even though people seem to be afraid to comment on it, The Air Razor mold would make a great classics/movie Strafe. Doesnt anybody agree ???
I do actually agree with you, but with this one already coming out i highly doubt hasbro will release two versions of this guy, who to my knowledge was never a major character anywhere.(whch i hate since i loved the technobots)

As terrifying a topic of discussion it is, my opinion is it's an ugly mould that would warm shelves just as Airrazor warmed OTFCC's store if it were repainted as any character.

Stockade wrote:Let's see we have Mindwipe and Skystalker, both Decepticon baddies and they dock with each other in alt mode, Now we have Strafe an Autobot and now Sunspot a Decepticon, and my question is, why would Hasbro make one a good guy and one a bad guy, even though they dock with each other? Makes no sense.
This goes back to me saying earlier that Hasbro should have called this Voyager Class character Scattershot of the Technobots and then taken the Skystalker (or Sunspot) mold and repainted it to match Scattershot, but call it Strafe. Of course, that would've made sense and rarely does anything happen that makes sense.

Personally, I love the Slugslinger (the Air Razor mold you are speaking of) mold from the Energon line as I've included it with my Classics line display. Although it would make a great looking Strafe, I would hope Hasbro would perfect it's jet mode so that parts snap together better so it's not so wobbly and loose. Maybe even change the faux wing rockets into spring-loaded rocket launchers.
