"Our first draft centered almost exclusively on the kids. That draft represented the emotional heart of the movie. Much of its structure stayed, but when it came time to do the second draft, we realized we needed to bolster it with the disaster-movie paradigm, following a couple other stories and showing that the Transformers arriving is a global phenomenon. The second draft was much more about the action".
"So much of the movie is like a war movie. It's like "Saving Private Ryan" with Transformers. Some of it is very intense. And the third act is mind-blowing".

That is not what they were saying. They were talking about the style of the concept of the story. They were not comparing the two movies against each other.Optimus_julio wrote:transformers = svpr ...... that is a bold statment

How cool would it be to see, in the first 20 minutes, autobots stormy a decepticon beach. You see Optimus crawl past dozens of wounded and dieing 'bots, including one stuffing wires back into is midsection crying "momma"....
eh, it really doesn't feel the same.....

battle of iacon anyone?
TBH i always equated TF to a war story and if you think back the producers did say if prime gets hit your gonna want to sympathise with him so we could see some robo mangleing going on. personally i hope so, its too easy to get lost in the spectacle. look at issue 75 of the comic, class action issue that ties up a storyline but one of my favourte parts, and i dont think im alone, was the small piece with prime kneling over the blasted scorponok who wanted to know if he did good.
thats what i want. a passionate optimus prime with a purpose who cares about his troops and will kick arse to protect them (why am i thinking of ironhide getting shot in the head in front of prime?) . so hopefully thats what we'll get

I'm trying to figure out if this is supposed to be sarcastic or not. If not then it really should be.

Also it seems strange that Bumblebee doesn't have a voice and communicates to Sam using the music from the radio. Ryan, you saw that scene during the sneak preview. Did it play out well? Or did it seem unnatural?
