X, that's the price converted from British pounds. Such prices are standard fare in Europe actually and unfortunately. And if you must know, Smyths is a rather large chain of toy stores found throughout the UK and Ireland. >:oP

At the top of the news story the article says this:

Searchlight has spotted and purchased Voyager Silverbolt at Smyths for £22.99 (about US$36) in the UK.

Am I the only one that caught the conversion to US dollars listed in the article ?

Anyways, a voyager costs anywhere between $22-26 dollars including tax here in Miami, Florida at Walmart or Target. At TRU it might be a couple bucks more.

Yeah, that is what the article says. It's (pretty much) regular UK retail price for a Voyager figure over here.

The last four are new, while the Protectobot ones all happen to match up quite nicely with the previous rumor about them. How about that. :SMUG:

I may be very interested in the Deluxe Prowl, if it does what I want it to do. :-?

Everything else, while potentially pretty, I'm really not that fussed about.

Prowl!!!! Then maybe.... just maybe, we might see an updated Devastator!!!

Seeing Prowl's off-road vehicle mode in the comics, I was struck how similar the mode is to OFFROAD, the new member of the Stunticons. Maybe we'll see Offroad re-tooled as Prowl? But I don't how they'd convert a limb from one Gestalt to form the head/chest of another.

My wallet is weeping already, while I can't stop drooling.

Hoping that Sunstreaker is actually Sideswipe or that he will also be released eventually.

Otherwise it is great news, fingers crossed it is accurate.

Guessing Prowl, Sunstreaker, Mirage and Ironhide will all use CW Stunticons toys. So they can all form that Masquerade Menasor with Generations CW Optimus.

Sunstreaker is a lil surprising, sideswipe would of made more sense (unless in comics he dies or is captured, which prompts Sunstreaker into action)

However I don't want a homage to one episode of the G1 toon in the main line, taking up the place of something else so I'm hoping it's a wal*mart exclusive.

Protectobots I'm still not going to hold my breath till I see the actual toys (which I'm hoping will be soon)

Would it be asking too much for them to do Piranhacon? (Looked at his toy on ebay, fell in love again)

We're probably going to get repaints/retools of Ratchet and Sideswipe anyway. So we may start with the 16 deluxes, but it wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with at least 32 after store exclusive repaints. Plus, you know, third party jumping in and making their own limbs.

Prowl, Mirage, Sunstreaker and Ironhide, they all sound like repaints to me, probably of the Stunticons.

My focus will definitelly be on the Combiner teams from the show... or at least that´s what I keep telling myself.

:-? Those 4 are odd choices. They bring Masquerade to mind, but only Mirage was in that. Hmm...

Well, Prowl would probably be intended for a Devastator, so maybe he's just doing double duty.
Sunstreaker, maybe they wanted to avoid too many red Autobots with Sideswipe.
Ironhide works better from Offroad than other bots (and they already have that Legends Windcharger).

I hate being late to the party. Only recently started reading the IDW ongoings. Trying to avoid spoilers, but I'm guessing I've just stumbled across a spoiler here. Oh well, not too bothered since a) it sounds like a stupid idea in the first place, and b) these comics have been out for ages so it's kind of inevitable.

Nonetheless, back to the CW news. Ironhide as a deluxe disappoints me. I want a good Voyager sized figure of him. Hopefully, if he's really good he can replace the Classics one though. I don't dislike the Classics one, but it has its flaws.

Sadly, I think some of you have it pegged. Our 4 new Autobots in the line-up are going to be Stunticon repaint figures and those of us hoping to get Prowl thrown in with the Constructicons are going to be very disappointed. It wasn't going to happen anyways. Too many figures and Hasbro knows enough to simply not do a figure at all then to do one and listen to everyone bitch...

"Of all the circuit glitched, diode blowin' dimwittery! YOU LEFT A PIECE OUT!"

And that's exactly what they would get from everyone putting only 5 figures in a 6 bot team.

I'm fine with their new choices for figures even if they are repaints and I will probably pick all of them up since I will for sure get the new Optimus. I missed out on snagging Generations Ironhide and Sunstreaker anyhow so these may serve as placeholders until I get them or even full-on replacements depending on how much I like their look.

Yeah, I agree: neither CW Prime or Silverbolt are on the Smyths website. Seems like someone made a mistake releasing them too early, one we're all too happy to capitalise on! I'll have to keep an eye out to see if they accidentally release any of the CW Deluxes early...

I also suspect those CW Autobots are going to be Stunticon repaints. Which is fine by me. I already have the Universe versions of those characters, and though I'll buy these CW ones because I'm a crazy person, it's nice to know that each character can have its own mold in my collection.

So I just had a really, really, really dumb thought.

What if Ironhide and Prowl are actually homages to their Energon selves, and are brand-spanking-new molds that aren't redecoes of the Stunticons? I know, it's literally one of the dumbest things I'm pretty sure I've ever suggested, but I couldn't help myself. #-o

I think an IDW-style Prowl as a retool of the Stunticon Offroad would make more sense to avoid being too similar to Streetwise. Which means they can't also make Ironhide a retool of Offroad as well, so I'm hoping he shares a new mold with First Aid.

As in regard to the Wal-Mart listings this is prob what's gonna happen. They're all going to be repaints, Sunstreaker/Breakdown, Mirage/Dragstrip, Prowl/Dead End, Ironhide/Offroad, Blades/Alpha Bravo, Rook/Offroad....and so on.... The first four to combine with Optimus I'm sure.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see an Offroad re-tool for Prowl too, due to the fact that him and Streetwise would be too similar, as you've said. I'm sure Ironhide will be a First Aid retool, that way him, Prowl, Sunstreaker and Mirage will combine with Prime to be an Autobot combiner.

I'm interested to see what they do with Hot Spot. It's got to be a new mould, surely.

I'm just saying off-road as Ironhide because, well the prime Ironhide was a truck deco from Kup prime which itself was a nod to movie Ironhide. I really don't think prowl would be from that mold mostly because he's only a SUV in IDW to match the mass of the constructicons. I still say dead end or even streetwise. They didn't hesitate to use the prime prowl/smokescreen mold for him already

Stranger things have happened... Zombie metrotitan for one....

Back on topic though, I already have Universe Prowl and Suntreaker, along with the recent Asia exclusive Generwtions Mirage and Ironhide, so I'm not so sure I'll pick this guys up, as I normally don't doinle up on characters - through if Ironhide looks like Ironhide should - bulky and with a windshield chest - he'd be an instant buy.

The other guys I'd have to see compared to the existing versions and in combined form before I go ahead.

I personally don't have much of a problem with re-paints/retools as I collect characters, not moulds, ie I have seven of the classics seeker moulds, the three (former) Datsuns etc, so I'm still keeping an open mind about this rumoured wave, but apart from the occasional obscure character, my classics/G1 collection is really only lacking the upcoming combiners...

On the topic of thenProtectobots - instant buy there. Why? Because Defensornwas the only combiner I almost had as a kid. I definitey remember having Hotspot, Groove and Streetwise (though I lost his bonnet piece so alt mode looked funny) and I remember having a helicopter with a combiner head, and after looking on TFWiki im certain it was Blades, not Vortex I had. I may or may not have had First Aid, but I don't remember that far back but I do recall never having a full combiner assembled. I also had Silverbolt at one point in time.

I guess you could say I'm looking forward to reliving some childhood memories

How can you be sure? I would say this has every chance of being an exclusive. Until we know better (official Hasbro press release) they are both exclusives and not exclusives. Plus for all we know that protector bot listing could be the one made up of repaints from other lines which makes sense since the protectorbots wont be part of combiner wars from what we seen so far fiction wise, and I think the editors at IDW know what's coming as I suspect they've worked hand in hand on this

IDW have said that post-Dark Cybertron there'd he'd be smaller cross-overs, won't be two totally isolated story lines anymore, maybe this is one of those? Maybe they'd go insane and swap the Protectobots for Arcee, Kup and Sideswipe.

On the comic note, I'd like to see the reason/story behind Wildrider being replaced with Off-road. Kinda makes me glad that I picked up the Arms Micron Wildrider as my "classics" Wildrider, even if he's not a combiner on my shelf or the comic, I still have the character.

EDIT: I think IDW has known about Combiner Wars for a while - Superion in DC, and Devaststor's reconstitution with a new member after Scrapper's in-fiction death. It makes me wonder if there's a reason behind all the Protectobots being on the Lost Light, and that we haven't really heard much from the Stunticond for a while...

Normally I'd pick Menasor and Devastator but I already have FP Menasor and MT Green Giant.
Yes I'm aware there will be a CW Menasor. Also read the rumors of a CW Titan class Devastator. Even though I have the 3rd party toys, Still plan to buy the HasTak CW versions. due to the low USA retail toy prices.

If HasTak ever decides to recolor the FOC Combaticons in 1985 toy colors. I'll buy them and won't have a need for CW Combaticons. If HasTak increased the TFP Terrorcons to all deluxe toys that formed a 10 to 12 inch Abonimus, I Won't need a CW Abonimus.

What little doubt I had of Silverbolt has completely been erased. It's going to be a very, very, very long wait to get my grubby little hands on him, the Aerialbots, and the Stunticons.

I like Optimus Prime much more than when he was first announced, but if I'm to get this, it won't be as Optimus Prime. Though I do wish the slots for the tabs on those panels on his legs that give him the appearance of beef were located where it would have the legs appear closer to the crotch (if that makes any sense). It would look more streamlined and less squat.

That said, this is the one time I actually want a cheeky Ultra Magnus redeco of this fella. That, or throw some black on him, darken the red and blue, and call it an update to Energon Optimus Prime. I've already got a Classics Optimus, so me getting this guy as is would be redundant for me.

You could use him for Ginrai, or rename him "Grand Convoy" in honor of the Energon guy ('specially with that homage in his chest).
