Don't worry about that, he never got one on Cybertron. Only when he landed on Earth and scanned a van did he get that bandana.
And whoever called "Solarbot" get +1 internet.

Now, who wants to play guess the price? I say $179.90 USD on the club store!

It's strange .... while I was indifferent to the white ipod version of Label SW when it was released I kinda like this version of SW. It'd be nice if there was a white-heavy version of Rumble and Frenzy to compliment Glit and this guy.

Ehobby has it listed for 13,900 yen roughly 177.00 US, so Im guessing most likely between 175 - 180.

At about $90 for each it's pretty steep compared to the Encore releases, but it's an ehobby release so that's to be expected.

My guess was so accurate! Seriously, I know TFCC too well. Hahahaha. (Really, I did not check, it was a guess).
Ehobby release eh? Like Black MP Rodimus and Brown G1 megatron? Thoes 2 are still lingering around collector shops... Megatron started at around $80 US... Now he's down to $63... Black rodimus I don't even check the price anymore. Still, I'm not planning on picking these up.

Not all of them linger like that. But with deluxes getting smaller and pricier and the same being true for MPs, I can't say these are overpriced compared to Brown Megatron from years and years ago.
But I guess we'll see. I'm getting these mostly for the cassettes. Although I do like the look of Soundwave.

Black MP Rodimus is currently $175 at TF Source and $169.99 at BBTS. eBay BIN prices are $200-$225. I think it's a beautiful figure and I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it wasn't so expensive.

(I will be ignoring all counter-notions about said "debate." So keep those thoughts to yourself, please. )
But I digress... Looking at them, here are my feelings on this set:
: e-HOBBY adds another item to Takara Tomy's vintage* G1 set.
: Both e-HOBBY and TFCC (corrected my friend on this) are giving the Japanese fans their own Shattered Glass universe.
: We have a very good chance that we may see TFCC bring this set be tied to BOTCON, and receive a TFCC packaging.
: We have to wait until the comic is here to see what kind of events unfold, which means that it is a gamble when it comes to the fiction.
: TFCC has not yet said when or if they will reissue it on their front, which makes it a gamble for those who only want their stuff.
: This may be a another event-based limited set, which pretty much means that it has a high chance of being costly in the secondary/after-market.
All I can say is that if you have both the luck and the money, and do not care if a TFCC set comes out, then go for it. Just know that this piece is part of Takara Tomy's (*: 1985) VS (VSY?) line, so it continues e-HOBBY's tradition of adding figures to the 27 year old vintage line. That, and it is spun-off from the "Invasion" set, which also is based on a 27 year old tradition of importing U.S.-based Transformers (in their original packaging) to Japan.
The rest... Take a gamble and see if you made the right choice.

Agreed. I hope they don't sell out soon, because at $200, I won't be getting these guys until I finish the list I got goin on right now...

El Duque wrote:TFCC have revealed the pricing and pre-order dates for their collaborative effort with e-Hobby, "Solar Requiem". The set features Shattered Glass repaints of G1 Soundwave, Ratbat, Slugfest, Blaster, Eject/Rewind mold, and Ramhorn. Pre-orders will start tomorrow and run approximately a month with a price of $195.00 not including shipping and handling.
And I still find it surprising that they still snubbed their Facebook followers when it comes to this, as something as big as this should have been posted there the same time it was Tweeted. Then again, they also excluded a e-HOBBY link on their page, while e-HOBBY posted a TFCC banner/link on theirs.
Also, I am wondering if this is Takara Tomy's second exclusive that was sold by both e-HOBBY in Japan and in an area that sells Hasbro Transformers. Because I read somewhere that the first was A-01U Ultra Magnus, who was also sold at the Transformers China Carnival in 2010. Even then, this is still a piece of Transformers history.
But with the price... I have to pass. I need to set up my 2013 vacation plans, and other stuff. Plus, I am iffy about trusting TFCC right now. So those who get it through them... Good luck.
Seibertron wrote:Seems like that price should be the price to import these from e-Hobby. Has BBTS, TFsource or any of the other online retailers posted pre-orders for the e-Hobby sets yet?
Seeing how the items go on sale tomorrow, I am assuming we will hear something from them as early as the same day. TFsource, however, I'd give them an additional day or two on this.

as they are though, it's only the tapes I'm even a little bit interested in, and I'd maybe stretch to 50 bucks for them.

gothsaurus wrote:Yeah, but it's 7 toys... That's only like $28.57142857142857 each! Not too bad for an exclusive. LOL.
It's 6 toys, as the seventh is a "bonus" piece. But I do agree that the pricing is not too shabby when you separate the items into their own categories.
I mean, lets say that each tape is $15 each. That is a $60 set right there. That is a really good price for a set of four tapes, especially when they are compared to the Encore sets.
And that least SG Soundwave and SG Blaster being $70 each. Which makes them a great price, taking into account that they are exclusive pieces.
craggy wrote:I'm not sure I see the price as being way too high. IIRC the last Soundwave reissue was on par with a new Voyager figure, price-wise. Blaster is a lot bigger, so probably be double the price, and the cassettes in their Encore line haven't been cheap. Plus this set is in exclusive paint colours and may or may not have some kind of yellow thing that we've only seen artist's renditions of, so may be entirely fictional. Still, if I had the money, and actually wanted these things, I'd buy.

Just take into account that these items are not Hasbro exclusives, but rather ones that are tied to Takara Tomy. So when it comes to pricing, items like this go by an import pricing and not a domestic pricing.

Agreed, when compared to some. Because the 2008 exclusive "Gadep" was pretty huge. And 2011 Black Rodimus Convoy was a Masterpiece. But the rest...

It's not cheap or easy to pull out all the metal molds (think forklifts) and pay a crew to run a short, limited-edition job (AND print and design new boxes... paint the figures.... pack and ship them...etc).
It's all the production hassle of doing a full run of a million toys, only trying to make up the money with a couple thousand buyers.
It reminds me of working on a printing press... and how running an extra thousand or two of something only cost a few cents more (and took a few seconds longer.) All the cost was in the setup.

I like the sticker sheet for these guys. We have a Bat symbol for Ratbat, Soundwave's head gear, official SG symbols, Zartan, Blaster's tattoos and various others. They are putting a lot of love into this set. It is starting to show it's worth to me. I think I'm in when preorders go live. Hopefully I can snag the Takara version off of Robotkindgom.

Personally I intend to leave ML Soundwave where he is and leave both SG1 Soundwave and Blaster in their box. I really only want to display the cassettes at this point in time.
