I wouldn't call that toy accurate, regardless if that's what it is trying to emulate. Would have just been better to give him a full red visor or a new head sculpt altogether. This head looks too amateurish with the fake eyes and nose.

Whoops, I made a mistake. The teal-outlined eyes were both toy-accurate and Marvel comic-accurate. The alternative was IDW comic-accurate.Seibertron wrote:Sabrblade wrote:You mean how fans voted for them to be toy-accurate rather than Marvel Comic-accurate?Dr Va'al wrote:Can we talk about Spinister's eyes please?

The choices were either "black outlines around the eyes" (IDW) or "teal outlines around the eyes" (toy/Marvel). The latter won.

I would've voted black, but either would have been fine if that's what the final product actually looked like. the way it is, it'd be better off just having a full red visor.

So, that's 360$ for the set. In US dollars. Plus shipping. Plus sureshot custom fees.
Okay, I got this!

Reflector and Flash Sentry are both retools of the Combiner War Shockwave with new heads. Reflector utilizes Shockwave's arms and the way they tab to force 3 of his toys to come together and form his camera mode. Cameras this size will probably only be able to be handled by titan class transformers, and have a high probability of shooting you instead of capturing your image for picture frames. This is also the first modern toy of Reflector that takes into account his 3 different components to make his camera mode, unlike his Thrilling 30 toy (which turns into a gun, so both will probably shoot you). He was available to Transformers Collectors Club members as well as those who attended Botcon 2016.
Flash Sentry is a repaint of the Reflector mold, transforming into a gun that can be held by any of the Combiner Wars figures. He can also use the Shockwave arms to plug into Reflector and help form a camera, or if you somehow had 3 of him he could make his own translucent camera mode. Flash Sentry was only available to Golden Ticket Attendees. He is a member of the Photons, a subgroup of Decepticons led by Reflector.

That's hilarious, as it is a hasbro design, the original use for the mold if I'm not mistaken. It was also hasbro who gave it to funpub for them to use. It was likely canned due to not making a very good camera mode or something. And for a 3 pack, it was no more expensive than anything else they've released

Just saying that they had their reasons for not releasing it (like cw ratchet, and all the many, many others that we don't know about), probably because they couldn't find a size class to put 3 identical figures together in, and that parents wouldn't buy it if it was, can't just throw out the rules of business just for some G1 fans

Makes me wonder which fiction, though. Reflector's bio alludes to the events of IDW's Spotlight: Wheelie with LV-117, as well as to the IDW version of Jhiaxus, but all of the other toys released in the same assortment as Reflector (i.e. - the BotCon 2016 exclusives) fall into the IDW Beast Era continuity circa "Dawn of the Predacus" (save for the different versions of the custom class Ratchet/Medix figure, as the custom class figures don't always match the theme of the BotCon they're a part of), which is a separate continuity from the main IDW one. Meanwhile, Flash Sentry's bio refers to the Photons, Reflector's subgroup from the Wings Universe, as well as to the Battle of Autobot City, which most certainly did not ever take place in the main IDW universe.padfoo wrote:Seibertron wrote:Knew I had forgotten something with these galleries! I think it's simply bringing in elements of IDW - LV-117 and Ore-1 - into Wings/IDW BW and is little more than a cute reference.

I was under the impression Reflector didn't make the cut on account of deco similarity - rereleasing the primarily purple Shockwave as the primarily purple Reflector wasn't going to knock any socks off.Hellscream9999 wrote:It was likely canned due to not making a very good camera mode or something.
Ah, these old chestnuts. How on Earth does this constitute disrespect, or greed etc? Reflector's a small name, didn't get a huge role, and wasn't even released at retail (well, apart from Japan), so he was released as a minor retool of an existing figure from a niche seller. That's a pretty sensible decision, really.YoungPrime wrote:I find this whole ordeal disrespectful to all the fans and collectors who've been waiting YEARS for a decent Reflector at retail. Impactor is a retool of Combiner Wars Rook with a fresh new headsculpt that captures the shear determination in the Wrecker Commander's face. He is the second official Impactor toy, behind only his Fall of Cybertron counterpart - who was also part of a combiner - and is the club's sixth subscription figure.
Bluestreak is a repaint of Combiner Wars Prowl and Smokescreen, and this is his first time as being a combiner limb. This Bluestreak also uses the rarely seen "blue" Bluestreak paint job, and he fits right in with the Wreckers as well, considering his personality is that of a sniper. He is the club bonus figure for the 4.0 service.

I'm also really looking forward to Wreckage, especially Fractyl and Counterpunch.
So, does Fractyl not come with an HFG? I remember reading that Terrorsaur didn't come with one; does that carry over? And negated by using the sword as the Impactor-esque harpoon.
Does Toxitron have a new robot head, while using the Optimus Maximus combiner head on the Motormaster body? Can't recall.

Fractyl should have a HFG. The use of Toxitron's sword as Wreckage's own Impactor-esque harpoon is just a little creativity on the Club's part. When Wreckage was previously formed with Alpha Bravo and Offroad instead of Impactor and Bluestreak, he had two normal hands.RNSrobot wrote:So, does Fractyl not come with an HFG? Toxitron uses the Ultra Prime/Optimus Maximus combiner head on the Motormaster body, and had a Hasbro-made pretooled standard robot head that was originally intended for a potential CW Nemesis Prime. But when Takara went and made their UW Grand Scourge figure, any plans for a CW Nemesis Prime by Fun Pub were scrapped since Grand Scourge was essentially the same concept, so Fun Pub went instead with using the Nemesis head for a different evil Optimus lookalike: Toxitron.RNSrobot wrote:Does Toxitron have a new robot head, while using the Optimus Maximus combiner head on the Motormaster body? Beautiful!
The Counterpunch head is also a pretooled head that went unused, correct? Has anybody identified who it might have been for?
