I'm kind of surprised they discounted Depth Charge and Cheetor as much as they did, to be honest. Not that I'm complaining, since it happened right when I was ready to buy Animated Cheetor anyways.

Fisitron is a redeco of the Fall Of Cybertron Swindle mold. No remolding this time, unlike some of the previous TCCSS figures of the recent past. Since the mold is fully intact, combining ability with one (or all) of the various Bruticus molds is guaranteed. Fisitron is an homage to the G1/G2 Lightformers Ironfist action figure which is shown in some comparison shots within this gallery. He's currently seeing a character resurgence in the G1 IDW continuity comic storylines.

As a weapns designer, I wish he came with Roadbuster's secondary Harvester gun. Or a bigger gun of some kind... any kind. He needs his BFG.
Other than that, I truly love the vehicle mode and he's a fun little figure. I want another repaint, maybe we can get an AutoTrooper out of Botcon.

Fair enough, I did find myself just this morning considering igear Hench to replace my dotm Brawn, but then deciding otherwise since I actually like the complicated look of the latter. Just seems to suck that this foc swindle mold has such a hollow back.

I actually really, really like Fisitron. The colors are well done, and the Roadbuster head is close enough to a traditional Fisitron head to be an homage, yet far enough away to be an update. Plus, the hollow back issue isn't all that big an issue in-hand (IMO).

Couldn't help but notice that he's miss transformed in the gallery. The "crotch plate" is on an articulated arm that brings it forward in alt mode to give him a longer "nose".

That's Botcon 2014 Scorponok. Unless you're talking about something else. Ehich you might be, since that Scorponok looks green to me rather than yellow.

Sadly, none of the subscription figures have caught my eye enough to buy 'em, but Thrustinator is certainly fun looking. I love this part of your post: "It's gloriously insane." That's the best way to sum it up. lol
Rewind looks pretty good, but I'd much rather we have the original Frenzy and Rumble as this mold was intended to be. *sighs* What could've been. (I just can't justify the import price of the set from Japan. As nice as it is, I just can't pay $80.00+ for two $7-10.00 figures.)

That's just a second Scorponok in beast mode. That light in the hotel room there is yellow tinted so it changes the way the colors of the plastics photograph.

While it's not the better figure, the alt mode does capture the look and feel of a manta ray space ship. Also the wing placement in bot mode is reminiscent of the wing placement on BW Depthcharge. You can even have a little protoform Depthcharge pilot himself lol.

No it is not. We were told the Club would be correcting it to blue. His robot mode Waspy eye is blue, it only makes sense for his wasp mode eye to be blue too.SW's SilverHammer wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Why is Thrustinator's wasp eye yellow when it was supposed to be changed to blue?

And Thrust had a red visor in the cartoon, just like his robot mode Thrust eye is.

It's possible it's a production error, But it makes more since for the club to give wink the toy the CG model was based on .
Posted by Sabrblade on June 23rd, 2014 @ 8:57pm CDT
More like vice-versa. The Motorcycle Drone was based off the CGI model from the previous year. Beast Machines's second year had toys based off the show models since its first year toys barely resembled them due to the show and toys not being on the same page for that first year.SW's SilverHammer wrote:Sabrblade wrote:No it is not. Actually The thrust figure proper came out in 2000, with the toyline starting in 1999. The motorcycle drone would've been from beast machines third year I always heard the rumor that mainframe used hasbro's in production concepts of the drones for both the drones and generals due to budget constraints.
No matter the Details, I like the Yellow Eyed version better, it's reminiscent of the motorcycle drone figure, which was the most accurate interpretation of thrust at the time, and to an extent still is. plus that would be three/four homages in this toy, and the more there are, the better the toy is (that part was snark).

Brimstone seems to lose a bit of his visual appeal with the lack of asymmetrical legs, but I'd totally have gotten him if he was a mass-release figure. And fan-moded a pterodactyl mode.
