Lio Convoy is but one of the Orion Pax repurposes, as we have already seen and featured a gallery for Nova Prime a while back, and a third purple iteration seems to be teased on the box for the latter. In the meantime, click on any image below to view the full gallery, which includes comparison shots with Nova Orion and previous versions of Lio Convoy too!

I love it. The headsculpt on mine looks really sharp with good paint apps, and a very striking shade of blue that no pics ever do any justice towards and which I actually find myself liking more than the blue used on the head of my Legend Commander Collection Lio Convoy.Seibertron wrote:People seem really excited about this figure.
It also helps that a good story can really help sell a figure, as Jim Sorenson really nailed the two prose stories this iteration of Lio Convoy starred in. I hope he (Jim) keeps going with more of the Uprising story.
My only, if any, issues I have with the figure are those that stem from it using the Orion Pax mold, of which I'm not that big a fan of. But between this and the Nova Prime version, both are the better versions of the mold compared the much more plain-looking Hasbro Orion Pax.
As far as this gallery is concerned, as I said before, no pics can do the head's vivid shade of blue proper justice, but you always give it your all and then some. I'm only a bit saddened to see no pics of TCC Lio Convoy with his (former) supervisor TCC Eject.

Carzap is a retool of the Generations Bumblebee mold which was also used for Generations Goldfire, Nightbeat as well as Goshooter which was a Million Publishing exclusive. To homage the building block aspect of Blocktown, Carzap comes with a Kre-O set that builds a gas pump which can be converted into a laser cannon. Click on any of the images to see the full gallery.

Ryan, if you own or ever plan to get the original Diaclone figures that these pilots and the Storm Rider drone are based on, and want to later update the galleries with comparison pics, here's a chart with all of them plus the others that all the Diaclone homage toys from this year were based on:

At first all I wanted (well, needed) was the yellow/green SG Waspinator. But the preview of this gallery and the full one convinced me how much love they put into these Wasps. I want them all. But DAMN that price

Yeah, I would say for 8 figures, it's worth it, but unless they swapped the stupid-cheap rubber for something that doesn't make me want to burn the mini-waspies, I will be saving my money for CW wave 3 (whenever HTS gets them instock )

I don't have much interest in chasing down Diaclones for the sake of doing comparisons for these guys. If I found some for a steal, maybe, but I'd really rather finish my Takara G1 collection first.
What I am interested in knowing is where I can find out if the Reflector pilot is actually called Spy-Eye (as in the Go-Bot, which I read elsewhere on our forums) and if the Diaclone pilot which it homages is a good guy or a Waruder and who the original pilot it homages is.
Posted by Sabrblade on June 28th, 2015 @ 11:15pm CDT
On the first page that Burn Out and Lift-Ticket appear in the comic, Lift-Ticket is holding the red Reflector in camera mode and refers to it as "Spy-Eye". I'd give the page number, but the comic lacks page numbers and I wouldn't know which page to consider "Page 1" (the cover, the inside cover, or the next page with the story's beginning).Seibertron wrote:What I am interested in knowing is where I can find out if the Reflector pilot is actually called Spy-Eye (as in the Go-Bot, which I read elsewhere on our forums) and if the Diaclone pilot which it homages is a good guy or a Waruder and who the original pilot it homages is.
Lift-Ticket's line of dialogue reads "Hrm, the signals that are being detected by Spy-Eye... without a doubt."
Sadly, the little guy doesn't seem to appear on any other page in the comic.
As for whether the name is a reference to the GoBot, or what the nature of the Diaclone toy it homages is, I know not, but can keep looking into it.

So don't buy it. These are limited exclusives, and are priced accordingly. I sympathize with those who are priced out of instant gratification, but I don't see the point in constantly bellyaching about it.
These will most likely lower in price/value as time goes on. Patience.

Agreed on that. That's just the major turnoff for me with the Kreons. Their paint apps tampograph are just so poorly done and aligned. This here, looks like somebody designed them with a frickin Sharpie pen.
Hasbro should really QC these Kreon. The best tampo I ever had with Kreons was Jarugar from series 8 i think. That was superb. Colors are nice, well aligned and sharp. That proves they could do it.

It is the bane of my existence as I try to find as near perfect specimens of each toy to photograph. The smallest flaws on these toys are brought out unfortunately by my up close and personal photography. The flaws aren't nearly as noticeable when held in hand versus under my camera lens.
Yeah, because all the other kreons you've photographed looked like crap. Oh wait, they looked fine, and the botcon kreons look like crap. Not even the past 2 years sets looked this bad. So this was either a QC issue which still further reinforces the rumor the club doesn't pay for it despite what they say. Or they gave up on this set. Either way, you don't have to rationalize the clubs mistakes, I know you want to be closer, but still.

I'm sure you meant well with your statement but please don't pull that card on me again. I do not deserve that.
In addition, you haven't seen enough photographs of mine of the Kre-o line to know whether or not the rest look just as flawed or not since I only photographed the first wave or two of products 3 years ago. I haven't photographed any of the Microchangers since the preview wave.

It indeed is. Not surprising since Kre-O covers not only Transformers, but Battleship, G.I. Joe and Star Trek as well

Exhibit "The only example I'm posting right now":
Man, look at that running silver paint on his chest, the nick in the red around the Minicon port, the messy gate mark on the right arm, the small chips and inconsistently masked red on the front of the boat, and the tarnish on the metal assembly pin.
Except then get it in hand and it looks flawless. My camera isn't even nearly as nice as Ryan's (I've seen it, and mine, albeit a DSLR as well, is like a Fischer Price My First Camera next to it). I can only imagine how bad Kreons would look if I did it, whether they came from the club or from retail.

RhA wrote:Lift-ticket. He's a wrecker and HE'S GOT A HOOK.
"Wrecker" is often associated with tow-trucks like this in Japan. In fact, the Diaclone is called "4WD Wrecker Type" and RiD 2001 Tow-Line is called "Wrecker Hook" in Car Robots. It's more in the sense carrying off wrecks rather than actually causing them.

Funnily enough, "Wrecker Hook" is also the name of one of Tow-Line's main attacks in the RiD 2001 dub.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:RhA wrote:Lift-ticket. He's a wrecker and HE'S GOT A HOOK.

And the dub kinda went a little overboard with this attack name since he called it out just about every time he used his hook in his debut episode, when he only called it out once in the Car Robots version of the episode (during the fight at the episode's end).
