Oooh!

... uh, any recommended photos? i.e. "image #__ is a good view of bot mode, #___ for alt mode, #___ compared with ____". I'd rather not have to rummage thru 130+ pics...

The first Members Only Gallery? There's going to be more? I thought this was a one time thing. Guess there are going to be more mystery figures in the future. I GUESS.

Have you tried the new image visualiser? It's really easy (and fast) to switch between images with keyboard arrows!

It's the first, not first of many. But it is a feature we may use again! :D

But in case..

Okay this is fine and all, but they aren't showing up for me. I click on the first few pics and I get a white page with technobabble on it. Then later pics just go to blank pages, the same with the image pop up. Just sayin' something's the matter with it.

BTW, will this gallery eventually be available for public viewing?

Eventually. Once we get confirmation that the mystery figure is starting to ship and wait a little bit afterwards, we'll unveil the mystery figure's true identity. ;)

The new subscription ROSANNA figure's gallery sure is awesome! I can't believe you came up with such a convincing subwoofer fan-alt for that tank mold!

This semi-concealed gallery is such a good experiment, it and the spoiler issue a few posts back just inspired a stupid experiment of my own. Thank you.

Rosanna gallery? I can't find it. I'll look harder. I'll call it the Flip Sides gallery though. Flip Sides is way more interesting than Rosanna.

It's been said to be too close in colors to the deco of the standard Soundwave version. It'd just be another primarily blue version of that toy, which has already been done twice between both the Hasbro and Takara releases of that mold.

It would have been better had Takara released the original Twincast in any other color than blue back in 1987. At least Soundblaster didn't sport a mostly red deco, emulating the original deco of his rival, like Twincast did with his blue deco. 8-}

I added a new gallery navigation item for "spoiler" galleries that let's you enable or disable the "spoiler" images for that specific gallery. It just sets a cookie on your computer for 90 days which should be sufficient. Let me know how you guys like that.

I don't see want the big deal is,, we already had two news stories revealing this character already and the images weren't covered/hidden, so why do it for the actual gallery? All it does it makes it more inconvenient for everyone.

To respect the Club's wishes for the secret figure to remain a secret until its official release (Ryan got his early).

That's rubbish, as I mentioned they already posted 2 news stories revealing this figure identity already. If they really respected the clubs wishes they won't have posted either story. Similar if they wanted to respect the Club's wishes why not actually wait until the official release to show the gallery instead of jumping the gun and doing this mess.

Why wait for Hasbro ? Pick up a Blaster and Soundwave and you can do it yourself...

On a side note, covering each individual photo with a "teaser alert" was tremendous overkill. Just leaving the teaser alert on the link would have been sufficient. The one person on Earth who cares about not ruining the surprise wouldn't bother to click on the link.

This was just me having fun with all of this. It just took about 10 hours of programming, creating graphics and extensive testing to change the functionality of the galleries to make it so we can now have select "Members Only" galleries and "Spoiler" galleries if needed. Each individual thumbnail wasn't replaced, it's just some simple programming to make the gallery display the real thumbnail or a "spoiler" thumbnail.

Now that I have implemented the new gallery functionality, I will probably start using this on special galleries in the future. I already have some special galleries planned that I don't see the point of having be available to the public initially.

We provided spoiler space in both stories and didn't put the character's name in the title.

To avoid the opposite of your statements which are ... "thanks for spoiling this for me" and other similar comments. This little experiment just shows that there's just no pleasing everyone. Damned if I do, damned if I don't!

leokearon wrote:All it does it makes it more inconvenient for everyone.

It's not really inconvenient. There's ONE extra link that you have to click to disable the spoiler view and go back to the regular gallery view. That's it! Just one extra link you have to click.

Seibertron.com exists to bring fans news, information, and entertainment . We jump through all sorts of hoops to do this. If we wait until a figure is released, someone will inevitably jump the gun. We always like to be first with news ... it doesn't always happen, but we certainly try to be first!

If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks for participating on Seibertron.com.

Thanks Ryan. My friend Eddie did this custom for me. He used a certain type of paint that comes in a tube to match the shade of blue perfect. I wish I could remember the name of the paint. Also, there were a lot of pins that needed to be popped out and a heating pin was needed to do so. It was no easy task. Props go to Eddie.

Arriving now in your mailboxes, if you're a member of the Transformers Collectors' Club, is the new offering in the Seibertron.com exclusive figures gallery: Treadshot with partner Catgut! The two toys are repaints of previous Generations Deluxe Warpath and that Arms Micron that kinda looks like Ravage, shown in the galleries with their original incarnations - and just to keep you entertained, make sure to check out the third new addition: United Deluxe Warpath, the Takara repaint!

Good job on the swaps, was that all you had to do, Seibs?

most importantly though, stylor comes with the wings and backpack assembled correctly.Only complaint with this figure, besides mine coming with the head of the pin that keeps the rotating forearm piece on missing from one of the arms (sent back for replacement) is the wheeljack mold's lack of rotation in the elbow/forearm area. But it's such a great mold otherwise, and chromedome just OWNS it.

A more likely explanation is that we as collectors are far more weary of slight errors, as we're paying a premium to get these figures. And the errors themselves are the same as what you can expect from regular retail, from loose joints to misassembled pieces. We just don't scream bloody murder when that happens with regular retail as they're easily replaced

Actually I heard the same thing about Quality Control. I experience a much higher percentage of problems with the Club exclusives and BotCon figures than I do with regular retail figures.

I thought of this just now: with production runs downsized from regular retail, isn't it possible for the QC to be downsized (but not eliminated) as well? I'm reminded of the whole Henkei Thundercracker and Skywarp debacle, which were similar in nature and had QC mishaps up the wazoo. True, Universe Starscream was indicative of things to come, but those two releases and only those two truly stand out.

Soundwave just looks so badass in that deco. I'd buy it if I had a place for it. Still visually appealing, though.

Ditto, it's fantastic looking, but I personally wouldn't have the use for such an expensive figure, although if this ends up going down the price drain like Circuit did, I'd snag it.
