Along with the auction for the '08 Botcon exclusive Optimus Prime, eBay seller etoyshunter has always posted an auction for the Voyager-class Lugnut figure from the new Transformers: Animated series. This is our first glance at the fully-painted Lugnut figure, that was strangely absent from this year's Toyfair.

Between Lugnut and Bulkhead, those are some short voyagers.

They'd better make a leader of summat, because these midget voyagers are really pissing me off.
Posted by Dead Metal on March 5th, 2008 @ 2:38pm CST
I love this guy, must have!
But I do hope they will make a leaderclass version just like Bulkhead!

That said looking at the figures legs and chest area, combined with the monoeye & paint app, add his level of devotion to Megatron in the cartoon. Is Lugnut the new Shockwave?

Apparently Corey Burton is returning for Shockwave, who is supposed to appear

No because Shockwave himself may appear in season two.

I like how they made the rear tail assembly into an axe instead of having it hang out on his back Blackout style.

But I think I'll wait until I see it in person to pass final judgment.
Otherwise he does look rather stout. There will Probably be a Leader class to match up with Leader Bulkhead though.
Voyager Prime on the other hand is pretty tall, he's even taller than Classics Voyager Prime judging by the other Auction.
O.K so what about Blitzwing, still nothing even remotely resembling a prototype has been seen.
Where is he already

I do have to say though, if they added some detailing to the sculpt I'd probably like him. Right now though he just looks unfinished like most of the bots in this line.

AMAZING!!!!
Yeah, he may have some balancing issues, but overall he looks BADASS.
I will be getting two of him for sure.
I think all of the Animated figures are looking VERY impressive--
even the few that I don't think I'll get.
Thanks for sharing.
I always get a little jolt of excitement seeing these figures.

No, because there's an ACTUAL Animated Shockwave coming.

It's probably (hopefully) just mis-transformed.

YEAH BOI
!!!!!!!!
This line WILL BE awesome!!!!
(not just because of Shockwave...
I'm just excited about pretty much everything that's in store from Animated)
My only complaints right now as far as characters:
I wish we were getting all of the Dinobots, and all of the Constructicons.
But in the grand scheme, to me this is a situation where the good FAR outweighs the bad.

Menbailee wrote:15cm is indeed short, though he's very broad at the shoulders. The size isn't terrific, but it's not as bad as Voyager Bulkhead. In turn, I don't mind V. Bulkhead because he'll get a leader-class release. I doubt Lugnut will get the same, since he's not one of the main characters. The Voyager's a bit undersized, particularly next to the impressive Prime, but he'll look fine next to Starscream. It seems as if they've made the effort to release the main five 'bots in scale with each other, but that they rightly don't expect people to buy massive toys for secondary characters.
Good point. I think he will be something of a main character, but as decepticons get much less screentime than autobots anyway, they may be hesitant to go leader class on this one.
I'll probably be putting together 2 different scale lineups on this series, so I don't really mind. Lugnut will look big next to some activators. I'm not even sure I'd want to buy a leader class Lugnut anyway.
As for this Lugnut figure, it's alright, but there's better looking toys in the line. The shoulder area looks awkward, and maybe they should've made the legs fatter.

I hope they'd do more Classics like that.

Also, is it only me who is seeing half a picture of everyones favourite copper-clad-klutz?

Don't get me wrong, I like the Lugnut character, I just think there is something generic looking about him, or generic enough to be used as a drone or troop builder.

id like to have seen his colours a bit more saturated/brighter.
