Yeah it looks like Fansproject is going for a more anime-inspired look as of late, which I have to say they pull off really well.

Robot mode is only loosely based from off WW Grimlock but the vehicle modes are pretty much the same, except that one has wheels. =P

Really? I can see where you get that but I'm getting more of a Roadbuster vibe. Still, the coloration will give it away.

Btw, his chest/belly section looks a little odd.

I agree, it's gotta be someone of significance. What happend to me was when first images for Warbot came out it got my attention. Then when it was finally available to buy I just didn't dig it. I don't wanna repeat of that mess...'nuff said!

The robot mode might look a lot like War Within Grimlock, but look at the vehicle mode again - that's War Within Optimus Prime all over, with details changed (probably for copyright reasons).

Everyone is making some wonderful suggestions to who this might be. Hell everyone is right!
He does look like the suggested bots. But I have to wonder if FP is throwing out their first entirely unique character that pays homage to a gimmick (powermaster) instead of a character. This may some how be related to the launch of their new website where fans are supposed to be able to influence product development.

Looks to me from the pics that the "Heartmaster" is not only pilot or engine in vehicle mode, but also the chest is robot mode, just like Powermaster Optimus.

Yeah, it does feel like we are all grasping and as long as there are more than two people on this site we are going to get more than 2 points of view/ideas as to what it is.
Personally, I'm in the WW Grimlock camp on this one. It looks like he had a shipping container dropped on him though. He's broader and longer but the basic, fundamental elements are there whereas the WW Prime look, even stretched out in all directions, isn't going to have enough of the same elements. Different smoke-stack configuration and different cockpit and headlamp/grill styling. However Prime would be amenable to taking on a "Heartmaster" or Powermaster partner where Grimlock would just as soon lose vital parts of his anatomy before having a humanoid merge with him.
No matter what points we bring up, this figure isn't a ringer for ANY of the previous incarnations of characters, it simply has a small handful of familiar elements from one or two previous characters. I think permanently assigning it as either Prime or Grimlock would be rather insulting to those characters as this one is too scrawny to be either one. It's still cool looking but not Prime or Grim material.

That looks like it could be a trailer attachment.
Perhaps a trailer/upgrade is planned? Or perhaps it's just a socket that facilitates his transformation....
Speculate!

I saw that slot too and wondered the same thing.

Wow...I was thinking the same thing..I mean, word for word even
Their new website does intrigue me and I have a feeling that this will tie into tone of the new factions they created..Regardless Im on bored for any FP item

The first thing that came to my mind is that slot is where the "Heart Master" goes as an engine in vehicle mode. It also looks like it might be where the chest is in bot mode.
Just my 2 cents.

I threw WW TRU Grimlock in the closet and haven't seen it since.

That's a good idea anyway. I'm sure I'll buy and enjoy this fella no matter who it ends up being. I have a weakness for the "Master" gimmick. Head, target and power, specifically.

In all honesty though, I don't thinly it's supposed to be a specific character. They said they want to make their own OG characters.

That's a decent guess, all he is missing would be the bulldozer type attachment. I think I'm with you, I believe this to be some sort new character that will hopefully integrate with a Causality story.

My two pence as to who it is is still on Rolling Thunder Optimus. His robot mode stature is closer to the 'commander' type of Optimus than Grimlock's 'hulking beast'. Plus there definately seems to be space and a hole for a trailer to connect. Not typically a WW Grimlock feature.
I think there's definately demand for a Classics PowerMaster upgrade, but to do one of those would be a giant middle-finger from FansProject to those who purchased Powered Commander i.e. not their way. Also I got the impression everyone is a little disappointed with Xovergen's Grand Patriot.

Sodan-1 wrote:The main figure looks awesome in both modes. But the pilot attached to the chest in engine mode looks naff, like it itself is an add-on from another company. Certainly not up to FansProject standards.
I've gotta disagree here. The little guy looks to be a few steps past the Blesser/Sidearm mold. I think once they throw some color on him he will look fantastic.
My only minor complaint, is the abdomen area on the larger figure. It seems to curve in giving him the chronic thrusting pose even when he's standing upright.

Xovergrens Grand Patriot was awesome but I think the price and the fact that only 1 outlet offered them seperately is what killed that toy. I think FP does a better job of identifying what the fans want and thats what they produce.

I heard good and bad things about it. I think the QC was really hit or miss and some of the parts required a little customizing upon arrival. Regardless, that figure was an awful ballsy move for Xovergren's first outing.
