As much as I like this more in-scale MP Prime I've already preordered FansProjects upgrades and Springer. Bad timing iGear.
I notice there's no sculpted Autobot Symbol either. Yeah, didn't think they'd chance that.

Wasn't quite what I was going to say but the meaning was going to be the same.
Seriously, a miniture MP-Prime? meh.

Cliffjumper Prime wrote:Ok, I'm just gonna go ahead and say it... this is a KO! The only difference between this and any other resized KO is the attention to detail and overall quality. Yes it would be nice to have masterpiece prime in a scale closer to classics/universe, but this is just a glorified KO. nuff said.
Yeah, so? What's the problem with that? Do any of the KOs at the dollar store compare to this?
For those of us who would like a slightly smaller Prime to go with our Autobot forces, here's our chance. I imagine those who missed out on the 20th Primes/MP Convoys and/or don't want a figure that big might enjoy these, too.
I see the appeal of this. It's not for me, but that doesn't make it any less cool.

Man you just gotta have the original no matter what. It's the original masterpiece!
While this miniature is excellent and a must buy for me at least, it doesn't beat owning the original beast in all his die-cast, chrome-y, one shall stand one shall fall goodness.

KO or not, just because they don't have the license to make Transformers, doesn't mean that it's a piece of junk.
What if Takara did licensed them to make it. What then? Would it then be a lot of more cooler or more valuable?
I mean judging by the pictures the quality looks very good as well as the details.
And as for the size, I keep the original MP Prime in a glass enclosed case in my living room, where he can stand out all by himself.
As for the Miniature Prime, he could easily go upstairs along with the rest, where he can be among the Universe/Henkei Line. He will fit there perfectly.

Not bad at all.
But I want to hear a review first. Especially it's plastic quality. While impressed by their accuracy, I wasn't impressed with their auto-scout's construction.

I'm a total scale Nazi and this will fix a lot of issues I've had since Takara started making the smaller MPs.
It also fits great with classics, and it'll allow me to redo my shelves.

I'd love to have this Optimus Prime on the shelf next to Grimlock, Starscream, Skywarp, and the Alts, but I can't justify paying that much.
I also have no idea about the quality of materials, construction, etc. I can't wait to see some online reviews and other comparison pics though.
If Hasbro downsized MP Prime just like this and sold him for around $40-50 bucks I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But I'm not holding my breath for them to do that and I can understand why they wouldn't in the near future.

Essentially so. I have the original MP Prime from 2004, 55 bucks. Pass go, save 200 bucks.

This was my hang up as well. i-Gear is pretty shoddy when it comes to craftsmanship and materials. I haven't been that impressed by anything by them. (I have the Auto-Scout and the Computer Control Center.) BUT the good news is i-Gear didn't make this! They are only the distributor. It was made by a separate and so far unnamed company. So it still could end up being poor quality but it shouldn't be as bad as the i-Gear items of the past. Lets hope!
This is supposed to be released March 28th according to the website. So hopefully we'll find out in 2-3 weeks.

Drecepticon wrote:I have one on pre-order. I'm not fond of UC OP nor do I like MP OP much. MP OP is bulky, heavy, and difficult to pose the way I want without it falling, and one of the feet falling out. It's VERY annoying. I take a LOT of photos of figures in dynamic poses so this mini version is a good choice for me. It won't be as heavy, and I can include the other bots. My only concern is - one that others share -its construction.
Wouldn't mind seeing some of those pics, there is a whole forum section here:

Post some for all to enjoy.

But I can't help but think that one day a third party company is going to go a little bit too far, and cross the copyright/trademark line and then Hasbro/Takara will have no choice but to shut them all down.

If this isn't going too far I don't know what would qualify. This is an exact duplicate of a Has/Tak design, it's a blatant KO. Of course this isn't the first time the MP Prime mold has been KO'd.
