Transformers: Devastation is on the way later this year on October 6, and in honor of the impending release, we decided to take a look at one of the game's biggest stars, the giant combiner robot, Devastator. Tim Turi and I sat down to look at the recent Comic-Con exclusive version of the figure, screen some footage of the character in Platinum's upcoming game, and talk about the history of the character and what makes him so cool.

Well of course they're going to make it look like his CW figure, it's (somewhat) free advertising!

So they ARE re-releasing him? I was hoping they would, but I didn't know it was for certain! If they are than yay!
I am Btw designing my own Motormaster torso, but it wouldn't hurt to get the CW version to hold me over till I'm done.

While this doesn't reveal a whole ton of new footage or characters, it is a handy way to check out all the playable characters in one short video!
Transformers: Devastation is rated "T" for "Teen" by the ESRB and is available very soon on October 6th, 2015. Preorders are available at many videogame retailers now, and don't forget that pre-ordering the game will secure you bonus weapons as well as Nemesis Prime, Goldbug Goldfire, and Red Alert character skins.
Keep it tuned here to Seibertron for all the latest Transformers: Devastation news as release approaches. There may even be more news coming in mere moments!

Yeah, but can we really be impressed by the whole "Got back the original/most iconic voice cast" thing anymore? Especially since Peter Cullen is basically the only guy who voices Optimus anymore.

Peter Cullen should be the ONLY guy EVER to voice Optimus Prime. If he dies, then this guy should:
This guy, who also does Honest Trailers, does an AMAZING Optimus Prime voice.

He'd have to. From what I understand, Peter Cullen has an "over my dead body" policy regarding Jon officially voicing Optimus. Something about how he's not down with other people mimicking him that closely and getting paid for it.

Yeah I kinda understand ol Peter Cullen. It's just such an iconic voice that I don't want to see go.

Well, when's the last time we had something post-G1 get all of the these guys back together at once to work on the same TF project? Prime had Cullen and Welker, but not Gilvezan, Berger, or Bell. FOC had Cullen and Berger, but not the other three. Rescue Bots has had Cullen and Bell, but not the other three. This is the first time in a very long time to have all five of these men doing official Transformers voice work together.Shadowman wrote:Sabrblade wrote:And Bumblebee.Windsweeper wrote:I love that they got the original voice actors for Prime, Megatron, Sideswipe and Grimlock.

If one likes the G1 voice actors and has been wanting to see them get back together to reprise their original TF roles all at once in some official capacity (which has not happened since the 1980s), then why wouldn't one (not necessarily YOU, but one who fits that description) be impressed?Shadowman wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Well, when's the last time we had something post-G1 get all of the these guys back together at once to work on the same TF project? I myself don't quite fall into this category of fan, but I do recognize how getting back five of the originals to return to perform their original roles after all these years of such never happening in over two decades is at least somewhat impressive.
They could have just gotten any modern VAs to do the work and, aside from Peter Cullen, most folks would have expected the gamemakers to have done that. But instead, they went the extra mile of getting the guys who vocally pioneered these characters just as Peter Cullen did for Optimus. That shows how much care was put into the vocals of the game, and a company showing that they truly do care about their work and doing their job better than they had to is at least somewhat commendable.
What is it that you find so alien about the idea of people giving praise to the game for its bringing back an exceptional number of familiar voices from the cartoon that said game takes so much influence from and said people remember and cherish to this day?

If he's reading this I'D be blushing. He does cameos on the Nostalgia Critic's videos sometimes. He's the one who gave the T-Rex on NC's Jurassic World review Optimus Prime's voice.
Here's the review featuring Jon Bailey.
I think this game would be fun to watch someone play on Youtube, but I don't really play many games anymore, and this is not a game I would be drooling to get. I do think the character models look AMAZING, but that's about it.

Did they get Corey Burton back to voice Shockwave?

Megatron and Soundwave are the only Decepticons to have their voice actor confirmed so far.

I like Steve Blum's, but I'm also somewhat partial to Sam Riegel's. Maybe I just love the oily way he says "Am I not supremely sleek?"

If they're trying to get it as close to G1 as possible, it'd be Tom Kenny.

Unless there's some other VA out there who could match Chris Latta's Screamer even closer.
Though, from what little we've heard in the game videos, I don't really like the voice they got for Wheeljack.
