Thanks to Entertainment Earth, we have news that a new 4-pack of Rescue Bots that include new, more show accurate paint schemes are now available through their site! These figures are larger versions of the original Rescue Bots toys, and include the 4 original show characters, Heatwave, Boulder, Chase, and Blades. The figures feature new paint schemes meant to more closely resemble the show, and also include the weapons that came with the first round of "Energize" figures, though instead of translucent blue they are cast in a silver/gray color.

Looks like they retooled Blade's chest to remove the sculpted symbol, and strangely the original Boulder is the more accurate one.

They're still not great. If you want a show-accurate set, then I recommend going for the 4-pack (Griffin Rock Rescue Team set). We got those for my young boy and they look heaps better than these.

The Rescue Bots line keeps trucking along to make sure there are some Transformers goodies for any preschooler venturing down the toy aisle. When it comes to the Transformers Rescue Bots Mini-Cons, we are now at wave 7. It is mostly repacks of previous waves but we do have a new figure too, that being a green redeco of Drake (the dragon Target Master, not the rapper). This is the case contents:
2x TRA RBT HEATWAVE THE RESCUE DINOBOT
2x TRA RBT DRAKE THE DRAGON BOT
2x TRA RBT CHASE THE RESCUE DINOBOT
This was revealed through a listing on Entertainment Earth and wll be coming out next month. Thanks to Scotty P for letting us know.

We'll, I WAS going to skip the entire Rescue Bots line. With good reason too! It didn't appeal to me. Nor was it intended to. But now I need that dragon. Lookit him! He's adorable! Damn you, Hasbro! Stop taking your toy lines to new and fun places!

yep, there is. i have that one, grabbed it on a clearance. his gun mode is a stretch, but the dragon is adorable. if hasbro releasing a purple repaint, i can probably makes a spyro fan buying a transformers toy.

Rolling to the scene of the rescue! Yes! Whenever there is a rescue, rolling barrels provide the needed help to get the job done! It doesn't even matter what type of rescue (water, fire, storm, etc.), having barrels to roll will always prove to be a necessary part of ANY rescue. That trailer wasn't carrying waste materials, right?

We recently reported on a new Transformers Rescue Bots Academy figure being listed online, and now we have two more, courtesy of Seibertronian Survivefan23. Now up on the Toywiz website are listings for Rescue Bots Academy Rescan Wedge and Hot Shot! These are mid-sized transforming figures of the two new characters, with Wedge turning into a plow and Hot Shot turning into a VTOL jet. Wedge is listed as out of stock (AKA a placeholder listing until he's released), but Hot Shot is actually available for preorder already! We have quite a bit of Rescue Bots news for you today. These are all related to the new Rescue Bots Academy toyline. It is very much the same complexity and design as previous Rescue Bots toys but we do have different toys and characters. Hot Shot is a main character now and this week we not only have one but two sightings to report. Fellow Seibertronian Rysquad ppotted the VTOL Hot Shot at a Walgreen's in Murrieta, CA. Also, the giant eleectroni Hot Shot was found in the Michigan area at a Kmart. You can also order it from the Kmart site here. It is $25 USD.
In other Rescue Bots Academy news we have a new Optimus with Trailer. And this trailer has a launch feature where you can place a flip racer upright (in robot mode) and then launch them in vehicle mode. This is the first time we were made aware of the product, thanks to a listing on Entertainment Earth. The toy is priced at $20.99 and is set for release in Janruary.

Saw that electronic Hot Shot at Kmart myself today, thought it had already been sighted. Thought about getting it since I had enough points earned to get it for free, but I ended up getting my nephew a $40 Lego set for $16~ for Christmas instead. Incidentally it was the Stormbringer dragon set, hows that for a lost (or at least missed opportunity) Hasbro trademark?

It's been a while since we've had Rescue Bots news! Our very own Seibertron has spotted some brand new Rescue Bots Academy figures. Over at a Target in Rosemont, IL he found the larger changing figures of Whirl and Medix, but Hot Shot seems to have sold out (though we already have a sighting of him). At this same Target we also got a first look at Mega Mighties Hot Shot and Bumblebee in the wilds.
Meanwhile, at a Des Plaines, IL Kmart he also found the latest Rescan-sized Wedge figures. Wedge has also shown up on Amazon as well as Salvage which is currently sitting at a markup.

I've seen the Whirl figure in stores. She is BIG! Like, taller than the original six Rescue Bots.

Yeah that bigger Whirl (and Medix) are in stores now. My son has so many Rescan-size figures that I’m hesitant to get Whirl.

Is that Salvage mix truck in the rescue bots academy 4 pack. The face does not look like salvage so i'm wondering if its a re-deco.

They're all redecos. Whirl of VTOL jet Bumblebee (her Megabots size figure is effectively an upsized version of Rescan helicopter Blades), Wedge of Salvage (Wedge's first toy was a redeco of Arctic Boulder), Hot Shot of Rock Rescue (ATV) Bumblebee (his first toy was effectively an upsized version of the same Bumblebee, while his second figure was a remold of VTOL jet Bumblebee), and Hoist is a redeco of.... Hoist - the Rescan series figure from the original Rescue Bots.

File this one under "things you didn't know you wanted until it existed." Autobase Aichi's blog posted new stock photos of upcoming Rescue Bots Academy figures coming to the Rescan class and it would be hard to ignore the dino-mode Grimlock that turns into a motorcycle! He was shown at Toy Fair 2019, but at the time we didn't really know what we were looking at. Yes, it's silly, but that's what makes it fun! As you would expect from Rescue Bots it's a simple figure and may not satisfy most collectors, but it does have an effective transformation. And I love that goofy grin, what a happy bike!
There's also a new Whirl race car figure in the same class alongside Brushfire, Heatwave, Bumblebee, and Chase. Plus there's new stock images of the Academy Rescue Team box set shown at Toy Fair. So what do you think of the new Grimlock trading in his bot mode for a motorcycle? Sound off in the Energon Pub forums below!

I am surprised we are still considering the alligned continuity a thing. I dont think hasbro does. And in any case, isn't this also Alligned Grimlock?
He ends up having the same colour scheme as this bike. All I mean is at this point, I dont think that continuity means anything so that grimlock is basically just rescue bots grimlock taking some G1 cues.

If a G1-looking Grimlock shows up in RBA with a caveman-speaking dino mode and a normal-speaking robot mode a la Cyberverse Grimlock, then we can just consider him FOC Grimlock having calmed down over the years since he's the Grimlock who first started the whole "savage dino mode/calm robot mode" thing that Cyberverse Grimlock utilizes.
As far as anyone official still treating Aligned as a thing, Nicole Dubuc at least still does.

In a rare case of "this never happens" we're treated to a first look at a figure that nobody knew existed until it showed up at retail. Thanks to Darryl Wall (@DWallsEpicHauls) for giving us our very first look (not even at Toy Fair!) at Rescue Bots Academy Flip Racers Whirl after finding it at retail in Nova Scotia and posting it to Twitter. It isn't a figure that will interest most Transformers fans, but it's nice to know that in 2019, with all the events and leaks and retailer assortment lists, there's still the occasional surprise.

Two thing:
1. The Rescue Bots Academy designs are starting to rival the Robot Heroes figures in terms of TF cuteness.
2. I love the diagram on the front of the packaging showing the vehicle being flipped into robot mode by way of a delicately extended index finger, as if that's the "proper" way to do it.

Arcee? No, R/C, as in radio controlled! Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Rysquad we've learned of cool new Transformers toy for our younger fans, the Transformers Rescue Bots Academy Bumblebee vs. Chase Bumper Cars Twin Pack. Rysquad spotted these at their local Target in Murrieta, CA. These use a not uncommon remote controlled vehicle design which ejects the rider of one vehicle when certain crash pads are collided with by the other. As shown in the images these are retailing for $29.99. The scale doesn't appear to be too dramatically different from the standard Rescue Bots so you can create a whole racing side quest to your regularly scheduled Rescue Bots adventures. Who will win? Bumblebee? Chase? Hey, wait...Chase, I just got that. Are you like me and just got that? Well sound off and let us know in the forums.
