On the subject of G2 Skyjack, I always thought Cybertron Sideways would make a good War Within Skyjack.
How many colour schemes have this mold come in now?
I know Silverbolt and Darkwing but did I see it as Brainstorm or was that a custom?

But...why?

November from what I recall.
I like the mold as well. The Japanese USA edition of Silverbolt is really, really nice. Darkwing from Universe was a piece of quality work as well. When people complain about the undercarriage of the jet, I pretty much dismiss their opinion on the matter out of hand. That kind of complaint just proves that you can't please everyone.

How many Plane TFs actually have a perfect looking Jetmode without robot parts hanging down?
Cybertron Jetfire I can think off and that's it.
Complaining about bot parts on a plane TF in alt-mode is like complaining about seeing robot parts on the underside of a car Tf in car mode when you flip it.

Cybertron Thundercracker is another.
I'm a sucker for homages, and this fits the bill. Poor Silverbolt tho, outnumbered...

I didn't dig the last repaint, but this one is a must for me.

I'm not a fan of the mold, but the black and red make it look cool.
As to the robot under the plane dilemma, I don't mind some parts under the plane.
I love the Superior Combiner limbs and they have fists just sitting under them. I like the Armada seekers even if they have legs as their undercarriage. Heck I have no problem with classics Jetfire's arms and legs there.
But when you can cleanly separate the robot from the plane and both of them are still fully functional, that's when I don't like it.
I like to see alt mode parts incorporated into robot mode.
With that said, I think I will pick it up though.
Oh and Armada Thrust also does it right. well except for the part where the robot has no hands but still, there's no robot kibble under the plane its all integrated

So. This for Skyjack. An orange and red repaint of Jetfire/Treadbolt for Hooligan. But what would you use for Space Case? Maybe Cybertron Sideways, for the forward wings and being the smaller, dimwitted one?

and that isn't half bad!!
I think it's at least half bad. I hate how this mold is nothing more than a folded-up robot attached to the bottom of a plane. The plane doesn't even transform; it's just attached to the robot's back. LAME.

As said before, it is extremely difficult to hide all the bot parts in an airplane alt mode. I think the Classics/Universe Starscream mold is better than average as far as this point goes.....as well as the example stated earlier.

And Generation 1 Silverbolt isn't?

Who cares about Gen 1? Lots of G1 cars had robot legs that were stuck together and had no articulation. Should they continue that just because G1 was like that?
Compare this mold to Universe Powerglide, which is actually a plane that transforms into a robot. Or Classic Jetfire. Or the good old Deluxe-class Classic/Universe Seeker mold. Heck, even the G1 seeker mold actually transformed from jet to robot.

I kind of agree with the seeming over use of the mold, but realistically there are only three of them including this new one. As a fandom we've seen much worse molds used many more times than this. I agree that the Darkwing is the best of them all though, because at least it's paint is interesting to look at, and while I love this mold to death, the Silverbolt is just pretty bland looking.
