Yeaaa, pretty much this.
I loved Waspinator, and I loved Thrust.
I'll be honest, I don't GET mixing them into one character...not at all....
But I'll probably get the toy just....because how could you pass up something that insane?

Same.
So far, all I really want from this set are Thrustinator, Barricade & Frenzy, and Fisitron/Ironfist.
I'd also like to bring up this: I read somewhere that Heinrad's comic model appears to use the Prime Knock Out mold. Could Heinrad be the bonus figure, fulfilling the Club's claim that it will go perfectly with one of these other figures?

Well, I honestly wasn't happy with how they treated Waspinator at the end of Beast Machines, so this is a much more ridiculously Waspinator fate that doesn't completely screw him over as a character.

Presumably remolded, but yeah. Says so in the first post.
Posted by Mindmaster on September 12th, 2013 @ 6:44pm CDT
Looks that way. I don't know if you caught the post when I first wrote it, but initially, I thought it was the upcoming Generations: Thrilling 30 Deluxe Waspinator toy and wrote it as such. It wasn't until I read a little more about it over at TFW2005 did I remember that Dirgegun, with the exact same tooling (with the exception of the head), came from the first Waspinator toy.
I kinda want to see if Hasbro (or more likely, Takara) will tackle Dirgegun and (since we're on the subject of Beast Wars II) Thrustor, from the upcoming Waspinator and the Universe (2009) Dinobot molds.

It didn't say that when I read it, and I'm sticking to it.
I still don't need the figure. I never collected the Cybermutants from BW2 so I feel no desire for this guy.

Treadshot didn't really interest me.
Chromedome had me thinking it was a nice idea, but I dunno.
Barricade impressed me, but I needed more of a push.
Fisitron looked neat, but a bit generic.
Rewind was predictable and one I didn't like.
The Arms Microns piqued my interest and were definitely tempting.
But, Thrustinator...

I hope you have that patented, because without a doubt I will be stealing that for my own purposes!

It would be impossible for FunPub to get a hold of a mold that hasn't even been released yet. Like it was previously mentioned, Thrustinator will be retooled from Beast Wars II Dirgegun, itself a heavy retooling of the original Beast Wars Waspinator toy.

That pondered, this one's a miss for me. I have no particular affection for BWII or its figures, so both Heinrad and Thrustinator fall down and disappoint. I'll still get the service, but I suspect I'll be selling a few of the figures after the fact.
Might keep Fisitron for sentimental value, but these last two do nothing for me.

The Club's budget only permits them to retool one aspect of a figure (2007 Thrust's wings counted as a single set).Manterax Prime wrote:Well, we still have a while until the 2.0 figs come, so it might be a retool og the new Waspinator, or a retool of the original. We'll have to wait and see.

Sabrblade wrote:But, Thrustinator...
But Sabr, just cause we see Thrust in the comic, doesn't mean he gets a figure! Awww! The funny thing is this: I saw this hidden comic page on the TFC page, and I thought, "No, no, no... Sabr SPECIFICALLY said that comic appearance does not = toy. HE SAID THIS."

You, sir, are in error. A BWII figure is not only F-ANTASTIC, it's unexpected and fresh. I like this guy enough to buy your copy. Your future tears of regret are your own responsibility.

Probably a glorious combination of Waspinator and Thrust simultaneously! My question is how he'll act. Will he have a split personality or what?
Posted by Manterax Prime on September 12th, 2013 @ 9:09pm CDT
Definitely gonna have to find him on ebay.
Posted by Sabrblade on September 12th, 2013 @ 9:09pm CDT
However, his speech does seem to be patterned a bit after The Doctor.
Posted by ILL-Star on September 12th, 2013 @ 9:31pm CDT
Waspinator mold has always meant next to nothing for me, especially now with the Generations one coming out. But I have always been interested in this retool. Would have preferred an updated Dirgegun out of the new Waspinator but that'll never happen. Atleast this will have a fresh looking head and better color layout.

I for one, didn't like how Beast Machines treated anything. Some scars shouldn't heal.
But on the topic of Waspinator's fate...yes, it all makes sense now. The multiverse made him its chew-toy for all those years so that the pain might forge the perfect pan-dimensional hunter for one purpose:
Ridding the timestreams of Energon Ironhide.
Can't explain exactly why, that's just the subtext I see in Heinrad and Thrustinator's conversation when I look at the pic. And beside Optimash Prime with Spidey-Spud eyes, he shall rule over my collection next year.

That made me laugh harder than it should have. Also, I was gushing over Thrustinator so much I completely ignored the fact that there was TEXT on that page! I appreciate Heinrad's Doctor-y-ness. They make a pretty solid team, those two, I think.

Good Lord, it's like they wanted to make a suggestive name, but weren't subtle enough about it.

Trying to decide if his voice should sound like Thrust's voice with Waspinator's diction, sound like both of their voices playing at the same time, or sound like it's constantly shifting between the two...
My vote is for the latter, given the grotesque(ly awesome) fusion.

And how do we know it's not a Red Herring? I still remember that one time they used a "hidden" photoshop of Universe Tankor for BotCon 2010 Clench. Not that I'm doubting the crew, but given the club's antics, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Nice choice of character and mold tho

I think each reveal got its own thread. Here's a list of everything:xyl360 wrote:By the way folks, is there a thread on this site listing all of the TFCC/TFSS reveals so far along with the images that have been released? Chromedome:
Barricade:
Fisitron:
Rewind:
Arms Microns - Frenzy, Stylor, and Catgut:

We were promised 3 new heads. The first 3 reveals were straight redecos (yes, Barricade is one too), so the final 3 should have new heads. We're not counting the bonus figure, which could be anything. Besides, compare this to the comic panel:

Yeah, but he kinda has to have a new head to both match the comic head and match what the Club said.Bowspearer wrote:So at this stage (given that the bonus figure will be Eject) given all the details to date, it's likely but unconfirmed then.

The only reason I say unconfirmed but likely is because technically, between Eject, Chromedome and Rewind, you do have 3 figures with new headsculpts

Oh yeah! I didn't think of that.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:By the by FunPub, nice job on patching up the plothole of Waspinator getting back to Cybertron from Beast Wars to Beast Machines
Though, at the same time, the explanation sounds a little... cheap.
I kinda wish Primeval Dawm had been completed so that its explanation of Waspinator having gone back to Cybertron through Tarantulas's Transwarp portal with Primal Prime's team (but having arrived ahead of them, somehow) had come to fruition.
