Courtesy of the Hobbybase Facebook page, we get a look at the Prime 1 Studio movieverse Optimus Prime and Megatron Premium Busts out of their fairly hefty box! The character models appear to be Revenge of the Fallen for the Decepticon leader, and Dark of the Moon for the Autobot one - check them out in the mirrored image below!

It is a bit curious that I don't recall ever seeing fan/customer photos of these things yet they've made quite a few of them. Maybe the people who do buy these are too busy making money to take the time to snap and share pics on geeky internet fansites! :lol:

After the recent Prime 1 Studio Age of Extinction Optimus Prime glossy pictures, we also have a greyer update from Wonder Festival in Chiba, Japan, featuring the bounty hunter with a gun for a face: Lockdown. The images come from Weibo user 52Toys, and show off multiple angles of the big bad bot, including the canine companion Steeljaw.

I am not a Bayformer fan by any stretch of the imagination but I at least understand why their aesthetics would take on an otherworldly appearance. (Even if they don't read well-like at all-for action sequences.)Maybe it's cuz he doesn't have any textures applied to him but man that is one sweet lookin' Lockdown.

Lockdown is one of the best designs in the movieverse. I love the unusual stuff like ROTF Demolishor, but Lockdown's humanoid design is really cool.

These statues are designed by Josh Nizzi and is known for his concept art and designs of transformers from the live action movies. And from the looks of these teasers it appears that those details really comes across on their Generation 1 line as well. These are interesting G1/Bay-verse hybrids, and would have been awesome in the movies (maybe they're a hint at the next movie designs), but calling them "G1-inspired" would have been more accurate. If they were made into actual transformable figures, I might buy them.

As it is, they're a curious, yet unnecessary, set of oddities I don't really need, but as toys, they would be attractive.

Exactly! You can buy a whole bunch of the Masterpieces for that price, and they actually Transform! If they wanted to do something above and beyond for die hard collectors, I'd personally prefer something with an intricate, super-detailed paint job on a Transformable, Masterpiece-like figure e.g. worn paint, metallic, rust spots, etc.
