Is this an upscaled TR Megatron or a downscaled MP Prime?

Probably a down-scaled Prime. MP-10V would be your key word if your curious.Lunatic Prime wrote:Nexusrayne wrote:This is a little series I started a couple months back done in the vain of Toy Story. Please tell me what you think

I do , but Siege Prime's butt "3mm" port is too small. The one under the cab is true 3mm. I couldn't wedge one into Megs at that angle, but his appears to the be correct size.Carnivius_Prime wrote:...gotta love those flight stand ports they been putting on the butts of Transformers figures for a few years now...

Ok one last pic from me tonight.
Unlike SS05 who has a huge black joint piece connecting his chest windows from their inner sides, SS32 has them connected on the outer sides and so technically can open them.
Ok goodnight.

Fun flying kick pose (I copied from a pic of SS05 I saw online)
Determined battle walk I copied from PrimeVsPrime. Also in this pose I notice another big difference between this figure and SS05 in which SS05 wins, due to the changed transformation, the truck grill ends up lower on the back of SS32 and when turning the waist, the (also slightly relocated) upper wheels hit the grill. This doesn't happen on SS05 at all and he can turn his waist 360 degrees with no problem at all (the way I have his backpack set up). It's not a big deal and you can move the wheel out and around the grill when turning the waist on SS32 but it's just something I noticed.
Looks cool from the side too.

Flickr is a perfectly viable hosting method for photos on our forums. As long as you find a hosting site that can generate the proper BBC code for linking, you're all good.

Here's one I did back in 2014 that I'm still fond of and I don't think I shared here:
I took it right after I'd obtained and fitted a left pec and foot for my ROTF Leader Optimus, who was missing said parts when I found him at the thrift store.

Aw shucks.
Nah, all self taught. I used to sell cameras, then got one and wanted to really wanted to learn how to use it. And from there just absorbed Youtube tutorials for years. Followed heaps of toy photographers and studied equipment/techniques.
Ended up doing a distance learning photography degree.
Looking back on it, all of this was so I could take better Transformer photos! Haha I have been a fan since 1984!

Regarding that use of Magnus, it's the repair base mode from his Diaclone and Japanese instructions. Not quite as fancy as the one on Optimus, but putting the unloaded launchers on the ends of the large robot arms as repair beam projectors still works well enough.

Well damn. Yeah I been a fan since 1984 too (though bayformers are my thing these days, G1 hasn't really done it for me since I was a kid bar the odd figure here and there and I never liked the cartoon so I don't have the same nostalgia for MP figures going for toon accuracy) but yeah these images look amazing. I would like to take better photos myself but I haven't the time, money, equipment, intelligence and such. Hasbro should totally hire you to take promo pics. Hell, some of the folk they have doing stock photos often mistransform the darn things anyways.

I didn't know that. Guess Hasbro didn't care for it enough to put in the instructions for us. But then they also didn't bother putting instructions that show that the top part of Studio Series Jetfire (his head, upper back, arms) turns into a huge frickin' gun for Optimus to hold when wearing the rest of Jetfire as backpack and boots and that's like brand frickin' new.

Well, not entirely new. The old Jetpower combo also had a representation of the BFG:
Neither version's accurate, sadly - one's too small and one's too chunky.
But yeah, instructions have always been hit or miss on Hasbro's end. In the case of the repair base mode being omitted from Magnus' instructions, I think they left it out on purpose because it was a Diaclone holdover they had no regard for (while an annoying decision, there's at least thought involved there). Leaving out the BFG from the Studio Series Jetpower instructions... That's just plain sloppiness. Someone familiar with the movie would most likely be able to figure it out because they'd know there should be a BFG there, but it's still a dumb thing for Hasbro to do. I suggest writing to them with a complaint.

I meant the figures of Studio Series Jetfire and Optimus Prime are brand new. So Hasbro still hasn't learnt to provide full instructions.

It's not even just that some people might wonder if they were supposed to come with a gun but the fact that Studio Jetfire comes apart to form Prime's upgrade (as is in the case in the film too, unlike the original figures where Jetfire doesn't come apart) and the person might be wondering why, after forming the jetpower Prime, they're left with a poor mutilated Jetfire crawling about with his arms missing the entire lower half of his body like a zombie victim or something. Oh well, thankfully we have the internet and forums like this and review vids on youtube to spread the word of features our action figures have that the company didn't bother telling us about.
Uh oh. Busy day tomorrow. I best try rest up and sleep. Keep the cool pics coming people. Byes.
Ka-boom!

I've barely added any paint at moment. I just did the round things on the shoulder pads and then added a teeny bit on the toes and crotch cos I ran out. It's mostly just his natural colour at moment.
Paint was Tamiya Titanium Silver as it was cheapest one I could find locally and need to buy some more of cos I used a lot of it on RotF Megatron a while back. Need to buy some more red and blue too cos there's a lot of bits need correcting.

I'd really like to see some more images of parts painted with that color and in a color neutral lighting. Have you already posted pics of your RotF Megs or could you do that, please?
