PROS
-G1 Arcee!
-good sculpt
-G1-esque box and instructions
-guns stay in the hands during transformation, much like ROTF DLX Brawn
-easy to transform
-good arm articulation
CONS
-questionable paint job, dirty
-delicate
-nothing really locks anywhere (torso and shoulder plates should but they don't feel like it, tabs are too small and the minute you try to pose the figure they untab)
-loose right foot (could be just mine)
-head doesn't look like it can turn (if it does, the joint is really stiff, to the point you feel like you'll break the head off)
-no waist rotation
-hard to balance
-bad print quality for the instructions
My call? For hardcore collectors and display only. And wait for a sale.
If you'd like to purchase TRNS-01 Valkyrie or TRNS-02 Medic, BigBadToyStore has you covered.

I had two on order with BBTS which I have now canceled. The quality of this custom is atrocious, this is not the arcee I was looking forward too.
paint work is unforgivable, parts that dont lock together, unbalanced so posing is a pain.
I am fine with the price tag, IF what I get is fans project level quality. This is far far away from being in the same league as FP.

I know you get early releases of figures Pascal, was this one of those instances or did you by from a retailer who got finished final product? (Honest question, just wondering if perhaps some of the smudges and paint blemishes were because it was an early release from the factory)
I got it from BBTS, along with 2 equally disappointing PCC 5-packs.
Now I'm even more anxious to get mine on Friday...

Still hopeful for a headrobots head to the TFA version.
Posted by DaiShanPrime on July 14th, 2010 @ 2:33pm CDT
Yes, This the same thing I say to all the TFs I buy which I can't return and has some defect or another.
This helps me sleep at night, really, instead of planning multiple styles and variations of torture and death of whoever made it or sold it to me, I Just say "Battle Damage (insert name of any transformer with any type of defect here)" It can help you too! Try it out.

She does have knee articulation, doesn't she?
Thank god I have Defender in the same Pile of Loot, it'll lessen the blow of disappointment. I dunno, if my Valkyrie ends up looking like crap I might just return it.

*ahem* Moving right along...
Really great review, and it definitely answered some concerns I had about the posability and weight distribution. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my preorder due to BotCon stealing all my finance...
...but honestly, I think I'm still going to get it when I have money. It does look a little sloppy, but let's face it; for anyone that wants a G1-esque Arcee this is the closest we'll get. If you don't care, or just want a Classics, then Animated Arcee is fabulous. If you're a stickler for G1, I think it's better to invest now than to decide a year from now that you want it only to find it selling for triple the price on eBay or conventions.
Anyone know if Paradron Medic has the same dirtiness issue?

Hey that's a different way to look at it. I never thought of that point of view I just ordered both Arcee & the other chick & despite the cons being a reality, I'm such a G1 fan that I have to have my Arcee!

And this is going to look 10x worse when Hasbro does decide to give us a legit Arcee.

But FansProjects has really blown them out of the water when it comes to transforming toys. They've gotta step up their game.

I guess they'll have to wait.
I don't mind minor issues, I've fixed worse from Hasbro, it seems like the majority of the fig is done well enough.

I found this with the TFA Human figures. The paint job is so bad. Sari has her mouth moulded in, but the paint apps for her mouth are about half a centimetre up her face (across her nose!)
I really like the design, and it looks like a good classics Arcee concept, but I don't think this will be worth forking out more than $15 for.

Yes.

Flux Convoy wrote:Let me start by saying I hate my brain. This looks pretty bad, "dirt" and paint wise. Although after reading the review I sorta want it again. The face only has the eyes painted...odd. Sorry yours came out so disappointing man. I really hope Nightbird doesn't have any of those issues. I did go ahead and bite the bullet for her.
Another member of cybertron.ca received 2 yesterday and both figures have similar issues, one being better than the other though.

I wonder if Reprolabels will grace the figure with a set of G1-styled stickers (complete with heatrub symbol)
That white spot on the top of the car (where Pascal put the faction sticker) would be ideal for the heatrub symbol.

It looks like I may have to dunk\stip mine and remove all the mold lines, too.
And people complain about HASBRO'S quality control?!
Hasbro are an international corporation with large amounts of money to spend on QC. They probably dispose of more toys a year than Impossible Toys can afford to manufacture.

Nope. Up close, the figure is the same. I should take some close-ups to show some of the molding problems...

Rated X wrote:I love the mold but that paintjob...man what an expensive piece of crap !!! And with all due respect to the reviewer, "guns stay in the hands during transformation, much like ROTF DLX Brawn" should have been placed in the "CONS" section. Who wants a figure with anything stuck in their hands rather than giving you the option to attach it or leave it off ???
You can leave them off, I've already stated that.

The paint applications aren't that bad. Like I said before, I have some Hasbro Transformers that have some pretty sloppy paint work as well. She really only shows some flaws on close inspection.
If I do have a complaint, she does feel fragile, I'm afraid of pieces snapping off. (in fact, one of her seats did pop off, though it just look like the glue underneath gave out) For such an expensive toy, this does add a bit of fear in handling her. Collectible or not, you shouldn't be afraid of simply handling a toy.
I can't say I'm sorry I bought her. I always wanted a G1 Arcee and until Hasbro get off their butts, this is the closest thing. For a third party, she is a pretty good transformer (essentually giving us all a chance to get that Hironori Kobayashi custom that has always been floating around) However, that price tag is a big deal so I can't recommend her to anyone else but die-hard Arcee fans.

For the price she's going for though. You know? I don't think the comments on her poor paint apps in that respect are unreasonable.

Some things i forgot to mention head dose move you just got to work with it alittle if it is stuck.

CrowDragon wrote:Just got mine in today. The paint job was not as bad as pascal but i am sure thats a hit and miss issue. It dose look nice though. Some issues i had with it was one of the seats did pop off so I glued that back. The joints are a little lose so when you have it in a good pose leave it alone. The left arm on mine seems to be out a little more so it dose not really lock into the chest but I guess that has something to do with the mold.Aside from that it is ok.I would only recommend for die hards.Because the price is really high and what type of paint job you get again is going to be hit or miss.

Reprolabels. They look like shit up close though, they're kinda blurry.
Maybe I'll try loosening the screw on the back of her head.

I do wonder though...could these just be problems due to a rush job and future production runs will fare better?
I mean, we heard she was coming out, then a video showing the finished product, and then a little over a month later, she's on people's door steps. I'm thinking the first wave, much like the first ROTF figures, is very much a rush job and the problems will work themselves out in the future?
If nothing else, I'm sure someone with skills will break down their TRNS figure, make molds and cast new and sturdier parts. I won't be the least bit surprised if we hear that there are a bunch of TRNS knockoffs being made.
